Son Kurichi-Kai iamsouledg3 Son Kurichi-Kai iamsouledg3 Son Kurichi-Kai No one appreciates the goodness that is DBZ anymore! crying *Sighs* What is DBZ but a lot of yelling, flashy lights, and vegetable puns? *weeps in a corner* crying Oh, jeez...er...don't cry, okay? ...crap. sweatdrop *wails some more* Everyone is so unappreciative to DBZ just because they're character s are different than usual and the show isn't your traditional anime! crying That's not why I don't like it! ...I don't like it because it's pointless and repetitive. Not at all like my precious Ergo Proxy...*Strokes Ergo Proxy DVDs 1 and 2*

I hate to say it, but he has a point. A LOT of the fights in DBZ fall through a sort of "lather, rinse, repeat" routine of...
1) Enemy shows up and threatens Goku and/or his friends/the world. 2)Friends must defend each other/the world from minions until a certain person powerful enough to take them and their leader down comes around. 3)Leader arrives before said friend and clobbers/kills most of them. 4)Said friend, usually Goku, shows up and is either a match or moreso for the leader. 5)Leader and 'friend' decide to show their true strength and spend two or more episodes trading "witty" banter and insults before actually powering up, which takes another episode to finish. 6)'Friend' wounds or kills enemy leader.
Afterwhich, the enemy leader usually comes back stronger as a plot device (Frieza in the beginning of the Android saga) or to prolong the battle ever more so in order to reveal some mindnumbingly unfair advantage compared to them and their standing level of strength that Goku and his friends have (Vegito in the Majin Buu saga).

Can't think of his name, but the guy who does the voice for not only Kiba for Yu-Gi-Oh, but also does the voice for one of the characters on Pokemon. (The spiky hair guy who falls in love with every cute girl he sees and is a good cook)
