He laughed as she dashed off, he was quick to race after her, long powerful strides ate up the distance between them. "I should, I was born there. Stayed until I was a cub.." He reasoned with himself, they wouldnt kick him out for stretching his legs would they? Surely not.
He brushed his shoulder against her side as his golden eyes scanned about the land. For something that would be worth the chase, he was a lion after all a bit on the lazy side.

"Then they would know you, would they not? As long as you didnt murder someone in the pride or something, I see no reason why they wouldnt let you back?" A'nala converesed with Xanthus. "Its not fair, you have longer legs." She giggled. "I had a head-start yet you caught up so easily."
A'nala was caught up in talking, that she hadnt noticed his shoulder touching hers. 'It feels nice' A'nala though as she blushed slightly before her eyes detected a trace of movement ahead. "Appears there's something ahead?"

"Hey, that grasshopper was asking for it." He teased, as he slowed his pace a bit. Didnt want to wear himself down, and look like a dope infront of her. "I'm used to running A'nala. Hyena's dont find it to funny when you catch their dinner first."
He caught the faint blush that stained her pale warm colored coat. The movement caught his attention as well, turning his head, ears perked forward. "Hmm, it seems like it."

"Then I can be rest assure, if a hyena chases after me, and I somehow faint, I can reply on you to be the lovely decoy?" A'nala said laughing. An amusing thought to see Xanthus run away for a meal.
"Food, unexpectedly." Her stomach seemed to jump, delighted at the though of food. Judging by its small size, it could've easily been a mongoose or a rabbit. But one thing was for sure, there was alot. Increasing her pace, she dived baring her teeth reading to sink her fangs into one of them.

At the sight of her catching her prey, he couldnt think she looked more beautiful, with blooding on her muzzle and the faint scream of her prey in the background.
But, there indeed was enough to go around. The large male dived, claws bared and fangs ready to sink into the soft flesh of his prey, with a low growl his jaws snapped shut on one of them, he couldnt help but look over at her and grin as it fell limp.

She gave it a swift death, feeling a bit bad for the animal she had killed but it couldnt be helped. She seperated the animeal neatly, and started chewing tiny bits. "Your a good hunter, from what I've seen. Efficient, fast, handome? What more could a hunter want?" She raised her eyebrows at Xanthus, her eyes alit with laughter in return to Xanthus's grin.

"Handsome? I think your prey is bad.." He lowered down and dropped his prey between his paws. "But thank you. I must give thanks to the many grasshoppers that were lost in that greater good of me being a better hunter." He chuckled.
"But, your better than I. Your did it quicker than I did, you even noticed them before me. Beautiful, an even better hunter, what more could a hunteress want?" He lowered his muzzle to rip a piece of flesh from his prey.

"Grashoppers, must be tasty compared to this, I wonder?" She said wryly nodding. "The by that, you've hunted for quite a while, Impressive. You mother trained you? or self-taught?" she asked curiously.
"Well, I wouldnt say that. If you had seen them, surely you would've been quicker than I?" She felt a wave of happiness at his words, that she was beautiful. Struggling to contain it from her expression she commented "I guess we both have our appealing qualities?"

" I believe my mother taught me. Alot of my childhood, is a bit blurry. There are 4 of us total. Hard to give all your children attention." He shrugged as he finished his meal, a bit fatter he licked his muzzle from the faint traces of blood that lingered.
" I doubt I would have, I would have stared for a moment before it clicked." He grinned as he licked an ebony paw, one thing he liked about his coat, nothing really showed on it. He looked up at her, "You have many appealing qualities."

"Oh I see. I dont remember much, but it sounds like you coped with your childhood fine, even w/o your mothers attention." She thought wistfully, she had never had anyone but herself. Was that normal? She didnt know.
A'nala finished off her meal, certain that nothing was on her paws and her face, turned back to Xanthus. "Are my qualities appealing to you then?" A silence lingered, as she put a paw over her mouth to cover her embarassment. "Nevermind that question. We're full now so we should get going to the pridelands." She jumped out of her position, and started her running again.

"Dont get me wrong, my mother was wonderful, as was my father. I just..eh." He shrugged as he glanced to the heavens. Unsure of what he ment, was he upset with his parents for not giving him enough attention? Of course not.
His brows arched at her question, but before he could answer she was tossing the question away and racing away from him. Again. What on earth, he thought as he rose to his paws. Stretching before he chased after her with a laugh, not quite beside her, but close enough that she could hear his answer.
"Yes, A'nala, you appeal to me greatly!"

"Didnt I tell you to forget that question? I thought males were suppose to listen to females." She pointed out indigantly, running faster, as to stop blushing before Xanthus caught up with her. She decided to change the subject again, before it went any further. "Where are we going in the pridelands?"

"Thats no fun.." He called out, picking up his speed now as she quickened hers. "If we always listened, there would be alot less angry females!" He laughed and shook his head, her next question though left him stumped.
He couldnt remember how to get to his family den, he rememered how to get back to pridelands. That was about it. "Um..I've no idea." He lifted his muzzle to the air, and gave a sniff, maybe he'd pick up his mothers scent.

"Dont tell me, you like me angry?" She said threatingly, lifting her paw straight over his head, as if to bat him with it.
She halted to an arupt stop. "Dont tell me we'll be lost?" She said salck-jawed to Xanthus. "Xanthus! You give off a totally different impression than a lion who doesnt know where he's going."

He grinned and wiggled his brows, "Oh yea, get angry.." He lowered his head just incase that paw came back a bit lower this time.
"No, not lost..more of an adventurous twist." He'd caught his mothers scent, but it could be days old. It was better than nothing atleast. "What impression do I give eh?" he cocked his head to the side. "And remember, guys never get lost.."
