IceWraithe Is the Onyxia raid set any good? i like a couple of the loots but not enough to make me want to buy another Raid deck. i would wait till they come out in separate tournament packs unless you care about foils.

fakestreet IceWraithe Is the Onyxia raid set any good? i like a couple of the loots but not enough to make me want to buy another Raid deck. i would wait till they come out in separate tournament packs unless you care about foils. They're only excluded as loots though, where the hell did you get "tournament packs" from? This isn't yu-gi-oh razz There's good equipment in the Onyxia Treasure cards. But he's not asking about that, he's asking about the deck that you get from it. Yes, the onyxia raid deck is DEVASTATING. The only thing though is it has differant rules and restrictions that change the game. The most important of all of them is that you cannot use it in tournaments. A Raid Deck can only be played if 3, 4, or 5 people plays against the person who owns the raid deck. NO ONE can take down onyxia by themselves, you need the support of 2-4 people to do that.

Now, understand the only real games I've played have been against my friend's decks, or in booster draft formats. I've yet to find a starter in my locale, so I haven't had a chance to compare starter to starter.
I, however, don't think a simple swarm strategy as put forth by Pk is all that horribly unstoppable. Someone with decent protectors, decent removal, or, decent direct damage, is bound to be able to get over that. I'm tempted to point out earthbind totem's obvious anti-swarm mechanics, but then, that's only a very strict example.
I think a Warrax deck tends to be even more nasty with decent armor and direct damage dealing or evasive allies, but then, that's just my opinion.
Edit- and just to add about the last, the Pally deck is no more annoying than the Shaman one. Both of those seem to be built at eating swarm decks alive. Actually, seeing the two of them go at it would be kinda interesting, too bad I don't have all the cards to test them.

Finally picked up two starters, ended up with two Ta'zo decks, blah!
I can't complain too much, means I can run a decent horde mage now, and I got oversized Boris and Grennan, so that was halfway decent.

I got Grennan Stormspeaker a Horde Shaman, with the oversized cards: Elendril, Grennan, and Omedus. It sucks because I like the Alliance sad And I've been afriad to get another starter and get the same one! If I'm more of a collecter than a player, then should i get the Raid Packs?

It sucks because I like the Alliance sad And I've been afriad to get another starter and get the same one! If I'm more of a collecter than a player, then should i get the Raid Packs? Since you wanted Alliance it might not seem like it, but Grennan is actually one of the better starters. He comes with Chain Lightening (personal rant here, but I still need four of those and they're damnably hard to find) which is even better now that TDP is out since the 2nd and 3rd damage packets can hit untargetables. If your looking to get a specific starter, there are a few places on ebay and Stat City Games that sell just the wrapped decks (no packs) for $5-8. As far as Onyxia goes, if you don't play and people around you don't play the Raid deck would be kind of useless to you. So you'd in effect be paying $30+ for a random pack of 10 cards. Though a bunch of those cards are really cool, you might be better off investing the money in packs and trading for any of the cards that you find you need. As a point of interest, you could redeem the UDE point cards (the pirate/ninja mini game ones) on the UDE site for non-foil Onyxia Treasure packs. They're out of them right now, but even if they don't do a second print run, they'll have the Molten Core raid packs available soon enough. (40 pack worth of point cards = Onyxia Treasue pack)
