The young wolf was pleased that his tutor thought he had improved - he seemed kind and tolerant and Quintus wondered where he'd learned to take such patience with words, not knowing his history with his son.
Quin was taken by surprise, though, when the adult asked him to stay with him. It was getting truly into winter now and that seemed to mean even colder weather than where Quin had come from. The pied adolescent had reasoned that although he wanted to try and find if it was possible to get to his home the best season for that would be late spring - when he wouldn't have to worry about snowstorms, flooding and the cold.
This male had been so kind already and if Quin was going to be staying around then he'd surely be best staying with this male who could teach him too. "Quin would like if not trouble?" he said, his tail giving a few hopeful wags.

Flit nodded his head. "Flit would be happy if Quin stayed. Flit has become lonely since son left the cave," he said in a chipper tone of voice, happy that Quin was considering staying with him. He didn't want the young male to be out on his own during the winter months. He knew how harsh the snows were and didn't want this adolescent to face those months like he had to before he grew into an adult and stumbled across Phib's packlands.
Slowly, he turned around, took a few steps towards the direction of his cave and glanced back at Quin to see if the adolescent was following him.

Quin's ears perked up as the older wolf mentioned a son. "Flit has son?" he questioned, padding after the large male, his fine fur bristling a little to try and trap some heat in the rapidly cooling evening air. The onset of winter was truly here and the pied adolescent was truly thankful he'd have somewhere to stay for the harshest season of the year.
He was truly lucky he had come across the wolves of this pack. First Amélie, then Phib, now Flit. They had all welcomed him, helped him even though he was not kin by a long shot. His face gave off a quiet happiness as he followed the older male towards the dwelling he was heading towards. "Quin thanks again." he repeated, wanting the green male to understand the sincerity of his thanks.

Flit nodded his head slightly. "Flit has two sons, actually. Both are...gone." His voice held a hint of sadness in it, as if indicating that he was rather disappointed that both of his sons didn't want or like to be with their father. Shuddering slightly at the winter breeze, he glanced back at the adolescent male to see if he was still following.
Flicking an ear slightly as Quin said thanks to him, he nodded his head briefly before turning his head around to see where he was going. "Flit is happy that someone wants to stay in his den. I was beginning to get lonesome," he said in a soft voice. He truly was very happy that someone actually appreciated his presence.

Quin felt the melancholy of the larger male and wandered up closer, nudging the green fur lightly with his muzzle. "Quin sorry Flit son gone. Quin father must be like Flit now." he pondered aloud, wondering if his own father was missing him any. Probably not too much, he decided, More likely it was his mother who would miss him.
The adolescent stuck close to his mentor as they arrived at the den. He smiled, wagging his tail at the male.
