My band director gave it to us this year, and we ran through it once, and it didn't sound all that bad, and then we never played it again.
A couple years ago, this band that like, all of my friends are in (i have friends all around the state) played it for marching band.

Yeah...i have tripulets in the faster section...i hate it cause i cant triple tounge...yet...but all in all...i love the song cause its so challenging and fun. mrgreen

funny. i was about to post something about this song.
so yeah- this is grade 5 music I think... its hardish- but our band can overcome it

Oh yeah.
We played it last year.
And when I was in middle school, we played an easier version.
it IS a monster.
especially for flutes. =p
there are some parts that are really beautiful...but a four page song?
RIDICULOUS.

we played it as our marching band show a year before i got there

~i never say quite what i mean... My high school plays that every other year for it's Christmas program.

We're playing it now.
It's definately not one of my favorites.
I happen to like the flute soli starting on measure 99 *has music on bed*
I don't like the 30 some odd measures of rest in the middle (at least for us flute players) It's annoying to count and painfully slow.

Our Wind Ensemble is playing it for our next concert. I really like it, but I'm a Bass Clarinet and I suppose our part isn't all that hard. It's a really pretty piece, though. ^^
