I'd like to join, since I don't know exactly what information you want, I'll just do some basic stuff.
Name: Maianderain Lonwynna
Nickname(s): Maia for normal use, close friends are allowed 'Rain'

Appearence: Although Maia is shorter than average, this does not make her invisible. Her Mousy-brown hair is kept in a side-braid, pushed over her shoulder and left to trail down to nearly her knees. Thick, even bangs shadow her deep-set eyes, hiding her copper wire framed glasses. Her eyes are a pure coal-black, brimming with hostility. They seem to see everything, yet are rarely seen. Her nose is straight and sharp, but not long, it simply strenghthens her features, making her seem more severe, but not pretentious. Her lips are well formed and heart-shaped. This succeds to give her a vulnerable air, despite the severity of her aura. Her body itself is slim, but muscular.
Her wardrobe changes frequently, clothes substituted for more appropriate ones. Her preference is dark colors, as they add to her image of watchfulness, but often she ends up wearing her healer's robe, a plain white floor-length robe with black embroidered trim marking her as a Master Healer, the highest rank.
History: Maia was born and abandoned on the side of the road, her parents hoping she would die, but hesitant to kill their child. Apparently the goddess decided she should live. A group of gypsies passed her by later that day, and took her in. She grew up with them, learning to fight off bandits, dance, perform acrobats and how to survive. However, when she turned ten, she went to the church to learn the art of healing, thinking that she had seen too many people who had not been called to the goddess killed in the many skirmishes along the road. For the next 7 years she learnt to feel for the wantings of Melete and heal according to her wishings. After graduating and working for the next 2 years, she was told to keep an eye on those who would destroy the Orb.
In her school days, Maia was well-known but never recognised. Many people spoke of the child who was so talented in the ways of healing she could pull one bak from the dead. The rumors were all horse s**t, but it was true she was better than many of the other apprentices. Perhaps it was because she always had her nose in a book (normally one about anatomy, phsycology or illnesses) or simply the others were stupid. Either way, Maia did not think of herself as a genius. Besides, nobody could put her face on the rumors, all were expecting a flashy, taller, more bragadocious student. Not at all like the quiet and calculating Maia who none ever spoke to.
One night she decided she was out of good books and snuck into the private section of the library. There she discovered Yun, a dragon, hidden among the volumes and creating quite a pile of jewlery and coins. Although Maia could not speak dragon, she managed to communicate with the creature. Soon they become friends, Maia bringing little trinkets to him while studying an ancient piece of literature containing verses on the language of dragons. Soon she had mastered it and could chat freely with her little friend.

Someone could find him at the beginning of the 'quest' and he could end up just following us.^^
Are you a small dragon? Or a big one? And if big... can you change small?

Yun's a very small dragon. xD He's about eleven inches in length with a nine inch wing span.

Unfortunately my character isn't into the whole 'cute' thing.
But well, if you do get to come as a dragon I gurantee she'll end up petting you unconsciously!^^
She could carry you around in her backpack too. I want you to be a dragon! Plus if Maia carried you around she'd be less of a loner.
You can talk though, right?

Hehe, guess what! I scanned in the picture of Yun a cherish. I then ran away very quickly and put it back away again in it's speshal place so that the ebil scanner couldn't eat it. Eeebil.
I also made Yun a little bigger so he'd be slightly harder to lose.
Name: Yun Xorin (Commonly nicknamed "Jeep" because of the sounds he makes)

Well maybe, if Yun wants to, he could have traveled with me for longer, therefore giving me reason to learn dragon, if he doesn't want to be my pre-determined travel buddy (which would be too bad T-T) It could have simply been Maia's curiosity or boredom with the slow-paced courses. She could have snuck into the forbidden section of the library and taught herself dragon to pass the time.
Each way works for me^^
Of course, if he does want to start with me then Maia could have already snuck in and learned limited dragon, explaining how she learned the rest so fast.

Lol, either way is fine with me. Although I think Yun prefers his own variation of your idea. As follows;
He lived in the library among the old dusty books (and that would account for all the librarians' shiny glasses, coins and other items going missing. Hehe) and when she snuck in she found him there. Kekeke.

I like it!
Maybe he could have been living in the back room... and when Maia went there to hide from the librarian she found him.
And started learning dragon from both you and books, and then went through school making mysterious visits to the library, often with a necklace or some-such that she snuck from the school-treasury.^^
And when sent on the mission, brought Yun with her.
How's that?
