It seemed all to quickly his spoken fears came true. Except, coming face to face with the company that comprised D-corp wasn't actually as nerve wracking as the lovebird thought it would be. One man, they had only sent one man? There had to be a catch.
A resounding squelch and popping noise as Cody was set free. Well, at least one problem was taken care of. Crossing his arms in front of his chest, Paxton swiveled his body over to face the obstacle which now stood in their way.
Not one bit, the lovebird didn't like it at all,...there was a time to stand up to authority, and a time to listen to it. Now was not a time to be brash...however, Keanu was Paxton's friend and as such, the lovebird would stand by him in need, whatever side he choose. Even if he found it the incorrect thing. Besides, Cody was agreeing too, and well great mind think alike, perhaps it was time for a stand. "There right, you know. D-corp has hundred of sources at it's finger tips, why don't they ever use us?"
A tap of his right index finger, and Paxton resumed back to carefully eyeing the man. Tonight would be long indeed.

First was keanu, psh, the tech visably tensed, eyes narrowing. Not doing anything?! Hide? He gritted his teeth. They're just kids.... he reminded himself, trying to chill out.
He waited til they were finished, one wanting them to just get that kid out of the door, and two wanting to calm down his mind. He was a bodyguard, not a diplomat... "You're kids. You're not ready for this kind of thing. You would die." He tensed up again, "You don't know... Alan... We're doing everything we can!" he suddenlly snapped, Whoops. Chill... Calm... Zen. He took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I'm not a kid." He quickly stated frowning. "Everyone seems to think that, but you only treat us like little kids when it suits you. We're not kids, we know what we're doing." He knew about death, he knew it could happen. But he wasn't going to die. So they could just stop that.
"I met mr. Rikery. He taught me how to ride n Ymir so I could fly for the first mission. And you aren't doing anything! You posted things saying to avoid them. That's not fixing a problem. That's avoiding it." He grimaced as he gave Cody a final tug, bracing himself with one foot against the wall to add to the pull. Hopefulyl that would finish this whold problem.
"You're just afraid of it and don't want to face it. But we won't let let anything like that happen again!"

Cody pulled right along with keanu and stumbled back, slipping and sliding on the polished floor. At least his horns were free. He wasn't looking forward to the headache he'd have. Once he was stable on his feet, the boy was looking the tech over. They had three choices in his mind...they could stay and talk, they could make a run for it, or they could knock the guy out and take his keys.
His eyes narrowd as he ducked down once more, tail flicking from one side to the other as he sized the tech up.

Doing all they could? It certainly didn't seem that way. Then again, the Tech was right, they were just kids. Sometimes it didn't feel like it, but when you got down to it, they still had a long way to go. There were so many things they needed to learn, when your little your view is obscured by the small world you've grown up in. Sure, opinions are beginning to form, but not until you understand yourself, can you truly make wise decisions.
Tensing, Paxton let his arms drop as Marigold curled up besides him. Sternly the dragon gave him a look of, "for shame". Yeah....yeah he knew what he was doing was technically wrong. But it felt right somehow. "It has to end." Paxton nodded, the search for these two villains had to be brought to a justice.

Tense tense... The tech's shoulders hunched more with each word that seemed to come out of keanu's mouth. And.. 3... 2.. 1... boom. Remember, he was a body guard, not a diplomat... "Listen you little--" He practically snarled, taking a step forward "Flying ain't gonna help you, saving some little kid from a kidnapper is different, these guys took down "Mr.Rikery" in one hit. In about two secnds he was havinga seizure, foaming at the mouth, I was there, a few of my best friends light on fire right next to me when the office blew, now we're tyring to find the assholes, and take them down. And you think you can do anything we haven't? You think your little pipsqueaks can do anything?" He gave a sharp wave towards the two dragons there "We've got full grown dragons atleast 12 times the size of those things, we've got guns, bombs, crack teams of coders and a few miscilanious things...." His voice started to lower as he hit the end of his speech.
He paused a second to catch his breath, looking the group over "I don't need to explain this to you." He gave a snort, already another tech joining them from the stairway, having been called down when the scruffy tech lost it. "We're the ones not letting it happen again, You're just rushing into it like blind idiots." he abruptly shut up as the newcomer stuch her hand on his arm, she was a plain looking red head, whom then looked to the three. "Okay then... How about we escort you guys down before you get hurt?"

The boy didn't even flinch as the man started out his angry rant. Yea, they might have been doing something. What did it matter what they had if they where only trying. It didn't mean they'd gone full out, it meant they hoped. They wished. Trying wasn't anything. It was doing that mattered. Making it happen. Whatever they were trying to do obviously wasn't enough. It couldn't be enough.
Even as the woman showed up to calm the other he was simply glaring at the man. "You might be trying to make it never happen again, but I'll make sure it never happens again." Which meant he couldn't stop here. He wasn't some little kid. He was going to save people, to make a difference for the better. He quickly wheeled around on his feet after patting Ymir on the head to signal that it was time to go before bolting for the stairs.
The stairs would be easy for him. He'd been taught to use those legs of his for jumping, and he'd taken practicing it seriously. It would't take him very long to leap up a few flights. He wasn't going to be stopped, he'd make sure it didn't happen again. Ever.
That was what a hero did. Against all odds they would protect people. Even if it cost them their life.
That was a heros code.

Keanu's que, it was time to bolt. Cody ducked and decided to find stairs up another way. Harder to catch anyone going in three different directions. He simply turned and made a run for the hallway, of course it was very unlikely that he'd manage to break away and get up to any kind of speed with how his hooves skittered along on the smoothe ground at first, then there was a corner up ahead.
Either way, he couldn't let himself get caught, or any of them. Or at least- he could try.

The words hurt, and at the same time made Paxton feel slightly ashamed. Tilting his head down and to the side, the child avoided all eye contact. He didn't want to look, at that man right now. Who did these three think they were, charading around like this? ...Useless, that was certainly one of the main feelings running through Paxton's head. It seemed that there was nothing to help with the situation and yet...sitting around wasn't a help either.
Another tech, and--"Hey! K-keanu!" Off went Paxton chasing after his friend. Feathers fluttered as the bird began to pick up speed. But the area wasn't nearly long (or tall enough) for Paxton to even hover above ground. So in an effort to keep up, the winged thing gave a flapping hop here and there, as Marigold chased after him. What were they doing?
Damn it. Damn it all to hell--ack avoid the Tech. Soon the door to the stairwell seemed with in reach and Keanu, well Keanu was right in front of him. Paxton's size helped him when it came to speed. When you don't have much weight to carry around it comes in handy. But Cody--the lovebird turned his head to glance at him.
So it was a free for all break away?

Suddenlly the group was splitting, a stupid idea really, trying to run around a place with cameras everywhere. even if he didn't get them, someone else would. However, he did get them, in a flash a silver object had been whipped out from under a labcoat, boomph!boomph! The first was fired at keanu, then to paxton who was trailing along behind him, the tech spun, another shot at Cody boomph!
The three would hear the light noise echo the hall, then the sharp sting in their buttcheeks.
Perfect shots. But that was why Dcorp had hired him... He lowered his gun, smiling at the little red poofy things that stuck out from the end of the dart, declayreing that they'd been pegged. "Night boys." He announced, pocketing the tranq gun and looking to the tech beside him, who was now staring as though he'd pulled out a real gun.
The cocktail of drugs would soon have them all out like a light, and their parents would all be called and told in detail what they were doing, and just how dangerous what they were trying to do was.

Almost there and... failure. Well he didn't realize it at first, but the sting couldn't be good. Instinctively he tugged the thing loose and barely got a look at and a quick mutter of "Gunsrcheap..." as his voice the thing started to take efect. It probably didn't help that adrenaline had started to rush through his vains as he was darting off, that only circulated the stuff faster. Too bad, too late.
And since when did the ceiling seem so dark? He didn't remember the lights being weak in here. He slumped slightly against the nearest wall for support, his legs betraying him a bit as he slid down. So ice and dark like... night... night...
He'd failed hadn't he..? He didn't want to give up like this, but... but...
And the wonder drugs did their work. Which Left Ymir sniffing at his snoozing partner and casting a glare that just dared the man to come a step closer. "Bad." Was the single sharp word he managed to snap out while inching closer to the dozing leopard.

Cody grinned in his own small victory, running down the hall only to feel something...small and sharp poke into his back end. A NEEDLE! The boy whirled around, still running as best he could manage. The sight of the needle brought out a loud scream from the boy and an attempt to only run faster. They got him! He was gonna die now wasn't he!? He'd seen this on TV, the fuzzy darts killed people! Like those butt-naked guys running around in the grasslands shooting snakes and stuff. Eventually his run became lazy and he coudln't quite manage his footing anymore.
It just took a slip of a hoof and Cody went skidding belly first accross the smooth ground, eyes fighting to stay open. He could see Keanu slumping down to the ground. "...I'mma..get you fer that...vament..."
And he was out, snoring loudly right there in the middle of the hall.

Screeching to a halt, the lovebird nearly ran into Keanu as his friend was slowed down. Was that a dart in the leopards as--"OWCH!" The lovebird jumped as his own dart found itself square smack in his rump.
The first reaction was to bite his lip and wince in pain, the other reaction was to reach and grab for that pointy object now lodge into his lean muscle. Fingers scrambled for the dart, but didn't quite reach it before it started to take effect. "********--" Came a groggy grumble from the boy as one leg slumped to the floor, and then the other.
He barely had time to catch himself as the world started to fade to a lovely shade of grey and then black. The last thing to be seen, no rather heard, was the sound of the Tech's voice as he wished them pleasant dreams, and Marigolds incessant whining.
...Life’s a b***h.
