Tawali watched the tentative Ever, sniffing at her muzzle when she backed up a little, smelling at th treat she had just eatten. He liked the smell and hastily took the one offered to him. He liked it! It made him feel buzzy, like soe of the spring sweet flowers, but this was nearing the winter months, and the little cube had the same kind of effect. He spun his head in a figure of eight, haulting when the Two-Leg ran a hand down his neck. The muscles twitched and he shifted hs position, leaning into the touch. It was different to a Soquili touch, and he quite liked it. He leant his head forward and gently tugged on Ever's mane, wondering why she was so far away.

"Ever?" He mumbled, trotting around her, brushing his side along hers, tryin to encourage the worried looking mare. "Ah can see ye's lookin' a'feared! Wha's wrong?" He nipped playfully at her ear, his own perking when the Two-Leg started speaking in her funny sounds. He didn't understand, but that didn't worry him. He watched silently, head cocking to the side, Tawali gazed at Evr out the side of his eye. "Wha's i'h askin'?"

(( I have no idea what I was thinking with Evening Night. So I'll pull a rabbit out of my hat. X-D ))

User Image She glanced icy blue eyes between the small girl and Tawali, unsure of what exactly to do. Her two-legger's behavior was indeed odd and when she suddenly disappeared into the teepee, Ever moved back close to Tawali under the large tree. They were well protected from the steady shower. The lightning and thunder show had stopped awhile ago and the air was definately dropping colder.

She moved in closer to Tawali, nuzzling against him gently not only for warmth but just contact. How could she possible tell him that she was scared she would try to kill her two-legger? It was absolutely rediculous, but still a fear she harbored.
"It's just the weather," she lied. "I am just remembering the last time I was caught in a rainfall like this."

She did not think that would really fly too far, but it was half-truth. She flicked the feathered ear, listening to metal gently clink. SHe pointed her nose up towards the sky, peering to see if it would ever let up.

User Image Evening came back out of the teepee with Tawali's feathers behind her back. She had the extra piece of string tucked into the back of her pants. She made her way behind Ever and slowly placed a hand on the mare's rump, showing that she was back there so she would not be scared and kick. She made quick work and soon the two feathers were secured to Ever's long pale tail. She gently patted her rump and moved to stroke down her neck. "Much more suitable, yes?"

Tawali snorted, nose wrinkling at the white-lie, but he said nothing, only nodding gently and tucked his muzzle behind her ear, nuzzling gently. He liked Ever too much to want to make her saddness worse by asking difficult questions. He knew that when she wanted too, she was tell him, but until then, he would not push and pry. She was her own Soquili, and he was still an outsider, he had not yet earned the right to be treated as anything but a close friend to her. When he got to know her better, then maybe he would try to find out more, but it was not his place now. He whickered lowly, flexing his red tipped wings, one drapping over Ever to show he was there to protect her.

When the Two-Leg returned, Tawali watched her over Ever's back, head tilting, feeling the familiar pull of something very dear to him, as dear as he hoped Ever would one day be. His feathers were behind her back, and as she laid her gentle hand on Ever's back and brought them into view, Tawali beamed and nipped gently at Ever's mane. He near bounced watching her tie the feathers to Ever's tail hair, and his cyan green eyes watched intently.

"They look good Ever!" He commented, his own braided tail lashing a little in excitement. The Two-Leg spoke also, and Tawali cocked his head in a comical fashion, eyes wide and intent, ears cocked and learning the sounds of her speech. He could tell she seemed pleased. Her sounds held as much emotion as Tawali's own, and he found it easy to pick up on the high pitched notes. He grinned at Ever and then the Two-Leg and scrapped his hoof along the grassy ground beneath them.

User Image She quivered a bit under the gentle touch and turned her head back to watch what the two-legger was doing. The bits of red and tan was a dead give away to her and her heart grew lighter. She tilted her head to the side a bit, trying to figure out why she would be so nice.

Obviously she was in no big trouble for the damage she had caused. She had indeed been trying to help but her intentions had quickly gone sour. Her brows furrowed in thought as she puzzled the whole thing out.

User Image She reached a hand out and gently touched Ever's muzzle. No, she wasn't mad at the flaxen mare. If anything, she was very grateful for the effort she had put forth. That wasn't something to scold another for really. "Now he'll be able to find you wherever you go, girl," she said quietly, still stroking the red mare.

Ever preened under the attention, striking a hoof at the ground in pleasure. She moved away from the touch of the petite human and nuzzled against Tawali happily. Evening Night was right. He could find her now wherever she roamed. She had not thought about that before, but now it warmed her heart.

She nudged the two-legger bit before taking a n** at Tawali. She felt like such the foal and pranced away from both of them, tossing her head a bit as if to speak to Evening that she was ready to play. She dodged to one side as the Indian ran towards her and nickered playful looking over towards Tawali.

Tawali grinned, though didn't give chase immediately. He gathered that the silent, confining force that had surrounded Ever since they had arrived had been lifted by the simple action of her Two-Leg showing the affection of helping with the feathers. Tawali didn't think he'd ever understand the bond between the two, but it made him happy that Ever was happy. It meant he didn't have to worry too much about her for now.

Dodging the n**, Tawali smirked, cyan green eyes mischievious. He pranced after her, careful of the teepee's pegs and other stablising structures and brushed along side her, nipping at her hind quarters and tugging playfully on her tail. He snuffled at the feathers, eyes intent for a moment, making sure he could still pinpoint them in this huge expanse of land. Satisfied, Tawali turned and nipped a little harder on Ever's ear, raing behind the Two-Leg and whickering what would have sounded like laughter. Pushing his face into the Two-Leg's long dark hair, Tawali peered out through the tresses before snorting and disappearing into the tree line, a streak of tan and red in the trunks.

User Image Ever pointed her nose back up towards the sky, seeing if there was any let up. When she looked back down, Tawali had disappeared from her sight and she neighed a bit forlorn that he might have left without a goodbye. She sniffed the air tentively for his scent and started to take off at a trot in the general direction the wild stallion had gone.

Her light blue eyes looked back to her two-legger quickly, but she saw that she was perfectly fine to wait for her return and gave chase to Tawali. She caught sight of him sooner than she had thought. Maybe he wasn't heading off on his own adventure and this was still part of the game she had started? She really was getting a bit paranoid, but she had not really shared her true feelings with him and did not want him to leave without knowing.
"Tawali... I erm..." She was at a lost of words for once.

Jumping out from behind the tree he had though hid him really well, he snorted loudly in the hope to make Ever jump, instead finding her standing before him looking forlorn and sad. Tilting his head, Tawali whickered softly and trotted up to her, butting her gently, reasurring Ever that he wasn't going anywhere to far. His rubbed his cheek against her neck and down to her shoulder, pulling back so he could look at her.

"Ever... Are ye alrigh'? Ye no' lookin' all too happy, and it saddens meh te see ye so forlorn... 'Ave Ah upse'h ye at all?" Nudging her soft muzzle with his own and looking at her with wide, innocent green blue eyes, Tawali smiled softly. "Ah would'n' want te be the cause o' such'a sad bu'h beautiful face." Tawali flickered his wings, the red tips bruhing his hindlegs, his blood red tail flicking and the beads and feathers within it clicking gently. His mane feather flickered in the soft breeze, its hues parallel to his eyes, the white tip catching in his pelt, sticking up from the dousing he had received.

"Wha' is it ye want te tell meh, Ever? Ah can see it in ye eyes..."

User Image Ever smiled faintly when he moved in close to comfort her. It wasn't anything to do with him and she needed to tell him sooner or later. Why not now? "You make me happy, Tawali. Very happy. It's just something I haven't said that makes me sad."

She paused, looking up at the tree covered sky as if seeking guidance. No answers laid there, they were in her heart. She nuzzled her nose with his before stepping back to see his reaction. "When I said I was more than fond," she started, "what I really meant to say was that.." Why was it always so difficult? "I think I'm falling in love with you."

There. It was out. Right there in the flat plains. Right there in a crystal clear sky for him to decide what to do with. Maybe it was a foolish choice, but she hadn't made enough foolish choices in the last few months. She just hoped she wasn't rushing to far ahead of her own hooves.

Tawali's ears pricked forward, listening intently to her. His head tilted to the side when she finally said what had been bothering her, and his bue green eyes opened wide at first, musing over the confession before a large grin overcame him and he flicked his wings open with a snap, flapping them a few times, rearing up and bounding backwards, getting caught on a low hanging branch after his third bound though. Falling back to the ground with a scowl at the branch for hindering his progress, he instead trotted back and Ever and nuzzled her nose, like an excited puppy, and if his tal had been capable, it would sure have been beating ten to the dozen.

"Really? Ever... Ever!! Tha'hs amazin'!!! Oh Gods above!!!" He gasped and skipped on the spot for a few moments, trying to think of something to say, mouth gaping open like a fool. He shook his head, looking at her with a wide grin. "Ah think Ah'm fallin' for ye too Ever! More then jus' fallin', Ah've fallen an' Ah don' think Ah can get out, even if Ah flew!" Tawali whickered softly, pressing his muzzle to Ever's, shock and happiness radiating off of him. He could think of nothing else to say, and instead settling on shutting up and letting Ever say anything she wanted to.

User Image She felt like she could fly. She felt like running and shouting at the top of her lungs, but all she could do was have this large goofy grin on her face. She tossed her head, the feather earring jingling at the movement and her beaded bracelets clinking as she danced with her front hooves.

She moved away from and broke through to the clearing about her home. Evening Night was back in the teepee so Ever took the moment to race about the area, kicking up her heels and laughing the whole time. She stopped, standing under the lone tree. What were they to do next? She didn't have a clue. No one had told her what happens after falling in love.

Tawali grinned, watching her. He was glad that was all that had been bothering her, that it was nothing tragic or life-threatening. He followed her at a gentle trot, keeping pace though, watching as she near flew around the clearing Ever's Two-Leg had set up as their home. The Two-Leg must be back in her skin-cave, but Tawali wasn't too worried about the creature. He watched Ever stop under the lone tree and he walked slowly over to her, brushing against her side as he turned and stood, looking out with her. The sky above was turning a bright sapphire blue, slightly darker then Ever's eyes. He smiled, despite himself and lifted his wing, laying it over Ever in a Wind version of a cuddle.

"Ah'm glad ye said it Ever... Ah don' think Ah could 'ave... I would'a been too shy... An' o'course, Ah'm worried Ah ain' good enough for ye's... Ye saying that... that ye are fallin' in love wit' me jus' makes me feel like Ah could fly through the strongest storm and win! Jus' to be wit' ye, Ah'd fly through anythin'!" He looked at her earnestly, tucking his head just behind her ear and breathing in her scent. "Ah'm jus' so glad... Glad Ah've foun' some'un who dun' care Ah'm annoyin' an' childish... A playmate... A soulmate? Aya adagaue nehi, aya uwoduhi galunadi dikata." Tawali smiled. He hadn't used his native language in so long, but the words had just come to him, and he couldn't deny them.

User Image Ever picked her way through the Cherokee, knowing more Lakota than anything else. She nuzzled against him with a smile, but still tilted her head to the side in a puzzled fashion. "What did that last part mean?" She did not want to think it was something else entirely wrong.

She could help but smile at everything else he had said though. Who else would put up with her antics? They changed as often as the wind did and still he loved her for it. She nuzzled against him, playfully nipping at the ear and shoulder she could reach.

Tawali smiled and nuzzled the mare back, a grin making him chucke a little at her inquisitiveness. He blew on her feaher ornamnt and placed his muzzle on hers in a Soquili style kiss and looked at her, the gentle, calm side of the mad, hyeractive Wild Child finally bing given his chance to shne.

"It means Sky-Eyes, my Sky-Eyes." He looked up at the remenance of the storm above them through the sparce tree boughs. It was slightly more grey tinted then Ever's eyes, but the blue was there none-the-less, a pale, loving spring sky, beached by the sun as it made its way across the sky. Her pelt was the ensuing sunset, all deep reds and pale golds... Gods she was a beauty... Tawali's beauty! He still wasn't completely convinced that this was true and not a dream, but he didn't care, he was going to cling to this memory for all time! His first real mate. Sure, in his old home there had been many mares that had wanted his attention, he was one of the fastest in his herd, but he had left... no... he knew he had to stop lying to himself... he was exiled. They weren't interested in those exiled... But here, in these lands, he had met her, his other half... the one that didn't care he was boistrous or carefree, was likely to flit off when the fancy took him... Didn't care he was Tawali!

"Ever... Ah'm jus' so 'appy... Ah don' think Ah've ever felt this... free!"
