Now, I only play casual, but I personally think that Glimpse could be fatal when used with Djinn Illuminatus.

I was out of the game when Mirrodin came out, so I didn't know about the imprint stuff sweatdrop (I played from Invasion to Onslaught, and started again in Ravnica.)

The goggles do nothing!

a good rogue player could probably run Glimpse, Jester's Scepter, and Dralnu Lich Lord, along with a dedicated set of counters and bounce, and win quite a bit. Until they hit the gaea's blessing....that is the only thing in T2 that would even deter the deck if built correctly. In fact I think i will make the deck on workstation to try it out.

I'd like to see it used with Tormod's Crypt. Take that, Reanimator!

I fail at placing links into my posts so ya.

assuming you have the following:
Darksteal forge
Isochron scepter
Mirari
4 glimpses
and something that for mana untaps artifacts

Play darksteel forge all artifacts cant be destroyed in any way shape of form.you then imprint one glimpse onto the scepter pay 2 tap it play glimpse, pay an additional three thats 20 mill cards. assuming you can do the same thing next turn thats 40.

at this point you haven't pulled this off first turn, it is impossible, at best you are doing this on your ninth turn. at best.

so at worst this is 49 cards in the grave. turn after it is 69, and fairly few players play more than a 100 card deck. and then in two additional turns assuming you dont use spare mana to find other copies to play this without any interuption, this is after it's set up, four turns.

The problem with running mill is that you are assuming that their life total is in fact their deck. So they will start at 53/52 "life" (cards in library) while you start at 20 REAL life. They have creatures which take out your life, and barring Szadek, you have no creatures which can attack cards in their library, meaning that you need very specific cards in order to deal them "damage" (mill cards out of their deck). They may be going down by 1 card every single turn, but they have many cards which are dedicated to dealing damage, whereas you have a few specific ones for hurting their deck.

Also, you can't put a Glimpse onto a Septer.

Oh dear...he's right. Isochron Scepter only works with instants. Djinn Illuminatis still works. Along with Izzet Guildmage.

ah, glimpse the unthinkable.
the Dimir prize card. (each guilds has the lord of the guild, the avatar of the guild, and the Prize card)
thats two creatures, and one card that could be anything, land, sorcery, instant, enchantment, creature.

anyways.
so, Glimpse the unthinkable.
options:
1. mill 10 cards for 2 mana. on the second turn
2. mill 10 cards for two mana on the third turn
3. mill 20 cards for 4 mana on the fourth turn

lets see, guessing that 4 turns have passed for your opponent as well, thats 7+40+4 cards drawn, that gives them, oh, about 9 cards left to beat you with.
Dredge decks have only a slight issue, after all, all the cards with dredge that they want are now in their graveyard.
but wait, dredging costs cards! thats ok, dredge can work in uber powerful ways when everything they want is already gone.
however, House Dimir doesn't stop with four glimpses, it keeps going with other, less powerful cards. like, Induce paranoia. thats, mm, a few cards milled there.
belltower sphinx? couple more here. and before you know it, dredge deck decks.

What about a Selesyna deck?
Well, you could be dead by the time you get their best cards all milled. too bad.
Gruul? Rakdos? Boros? same concept, your probably beaten to a little qizard pancake by their basic drive to kill.

Milling doesn't work too well against those decks.
on the whole though, you are pretty happy about milling 40 cards for a total of 8 mana. but what if you want more bang for your Glimpses? Presenting the guild avatar, Circu, Dimir Lobotomist. for those of you who don't know him, he gets to peel memories from your enemy wizard friends, one for each blue spell, and one for each black spell. what do you know? Glimpsing unthinkable things appears to be both. thats two more cards.
and with two more cards gone per Glimpse, thats 48 cards (not to mention the 8 cards removed from the game by Circu make copies worthless)
so, lets see what we have here, 48 cards milled, 8 of those 48 have killed all copies of them left in the very teeny deck.
and you spent the early game playing Dimir Infiltrators, so you ahve a nice spirit wall to hide behind.

lets add the master to the mix, Szadek! the master of the secret guild, the one that doesn't exist, but, has just now milled the Golgari neighbors to submission.
thats strange, so, theres this guild see.
OK
hey don't exist, neither does their guildmaster.
OK
and they just killed a known guild.

lets say it's multiplayer.
Szadek gets to become a very happy vampire. killing one person for a mill of 20 isn't enough, we get to mill that random guy for 40, then that player for 80, that person to the left of us could play somethig nasty, (like a llanowar elf or soemthing....better get rid of him before then) mill him for 160.
now, all that leaves is that strage wacko playing a 250 all color deck in this mass multiplayer game, he has no flyers....szadek can mill him for 320 cards, do you attack?

Yep, Glimpse the Unthinkable is a pretty amazing card, The guild is pretty amazing too, considering however that it's slow, Glimpse is a good two mana drop for the otherwise turn three/four guild.

Well with milling you're throwing out their lands and attackers more then likely so they won't be able to get the creatures out they need..... hopefully. Also, if you're playing blue black you're likely running belltower sphinx, a nice flying defender that mills in the process. And for some reason if my milling isn't working how I want it, Dimir Infiltrator (unblockable) Dimir House Gaurd (fear), Phychic Drain (milling and giving me life back). Plus Dimir comes with transmute which makes it alittle easier to get those "dedicated" cards out.

yep, the infiltrator comes with three great uses.
decent turn two drop to attack with, good defender early.
transmutation for a glimpse if thats your poison.
