Blood red eyes on the forest dark.
Blood sat in the thick branches of a tree, staring straight forward, planning his entry. Should he barge in in a show of power? Should he sneak in as a small creature? Should he leap the wall and walk the alleys? So much choice, so little time. Well, he thought. I could just walk in. This was his plan. He walked towards the southern entrance to the capital of the Rideron Kingdom, changing into a black cat.

((ok, but only for a while.))
"What is taking that dreadful messenger so long," King Jamenson thought to himself, drumming his fingers on the arm-rest of his throne. "Some people can't do anything right." The King needed Regin to complete a task for him; the messenger was supposed to summon him. Rideron was greatly threatened, and no Rideron meant the end of profit from trade. That was something King Jamenson couldn't afford, especially after funding for military became such a nececity. Regin was a great soldier, and very loyal to the King. He was the only one Jamenson could trust with this task.

Wow he sure likes me now!"

((sorry i was gone, i was on vacation for a week.))
"What was that?" A soldier turned towards the noise he heard, a rusling in the bushes nearby. "It's nothing," said another, who stood on the top of the wall with a crossbow. "No, I heard it too," replied another soldier. The soldiers readied their weapons as they neared the direction of the sound. The sound grew louder, then, out of the bush came a black cat. "It's just a cat," said the first soldier. The solders relaxed, sighing in relif that it was not a threat. The cat began to walk amongst them.
Well, I've reached the gate, Blood thought to himself. He looked at the closed gate and saw that he could not climb it, not as a cat. He had no time to reach another entrance as another animal or escape far enough to change shape without being noticed. So, he went with the first idea that came to mind.
The cat began to change shapes. Some of the men were startled by it, the others were turned and facing the other way. Soon, they were all awestruck by the cat's shapeshifting. It took the form of a boy, with a sword that looked too long for him to properly wield. The boy, once his transformation was complete, looked to be no older than 13, possibly 14. There was a slight pause amongst the people. Then, suddenly, the boy attacked with a speed and strength unseen by the soldiers. The soldiers were unmatched, despite their numbers, and knew they would fall. But they had to try, for if it was for their Kingdom that they died, then dieing was not so bad.
Blood wiped his sword clean of the blood that now stained it, letting it's black metal shine in the dim light of the nearby torches. Zane then took the form of a bird and flew over the gate towards the palace.
Oh, where is that messenger? Thought King Jamenson. As soon as he did, the door to his throne room openned. "Sir, Regin, my lord," said the guard at the door as the very knight the king was looking for walked into the room. "Ah, thank you, Cedric. Now, leave us." The guard bowed and left the room.

"As you may know," the king began. "Rideron is an essential part of our economy. Without it, our trade would cease to exist, and we would be forced to be selfsufficient, which I am afraid we cannot do. The reason I am telling you this is becasue Rideron's fate on the line, and inderectly, so is ours. I need you to go to Rideron, assist in any way you can in defending the monarchy of Rideron from the assassin threat, and ensure the future of my kingdom." The king opened a box. Inside was a rolled up parchment and a key. "This," the king said, holding up the parchment. "Is a map to Rideron. It shows the faster, yet lesser known routes, away from the trade roads." The king then held up the key. "This is the key to the royal stables, you may choose a horse of you liking, along with any supplies in the stables that the horse may need, food, water, and other things of the likes. Make haste, and godspeed."
