Athena squirmed next to the golden lion. She giggled and pawed at him as he nudged her slightly. She loved being with her big brother. It seemed that all of her other siblings thought it was nice too. And who could blame them? Ger was so fun to play with! Oh, as it was with Kohji, Ger did a nice grooming job.
As Ger told her to get some rest, she made a face at him. "But I'm not tired!" she protested, her tail flicking defiantly. Well, so much for that whole obedient bit.
"Athena, listen to Ger. Your brothers are taking naps, so you should too," Aysha spoke softly but firmly to her. Athena frowned slightly but didn't say anything after that. She simply nodded then plopped down next to Ger, not even caring whether she got dirt all over her coat or not. Unlike Kohji, she didn't much care.
"Good girl, Athena," the lioness purred. Athena said nothing. Instead, she just closed her eyes and acted like she was going to sleep.
Aysha sighed. These cubs were only going to become more of a handful as they grew, she knew. And oh would she have her paws full then. But, she figured, it would all be worthwhile just to see them grow up into magnificent adults who would go out and start families of their own perhaps. Or maybe not. She had heard something about mixed breeds...
Glancing up at Ger, she nodded slightly. "Yes, they're very rambunctious," she agreed, smiling down at her cubs. "And I am very happy. It's nice to have a family here, one that will always love you..." She trailed off, her mind going back to those distant memories of when she had been a cub with her family. She had forgotten by now what it was like, but she remembered what her mother looked like and what her father looked like... she wondered why they didn't want her.
Aysha frowned, shaking her head. It was in the past, she shouldn't have thought about it.

Ger yawned a bit. These cubs and their infectious yawns, it was...getting to him. He smiled down at Athena and watched her. He had a feeling one of these cubs weren't sleeping and just faking it. Now who was it? Kohji? Kohaku? Hayate? Inoa? Athena? It made him chuckle too since he once did that too. Oh well.
"Get some rest, Aysha. You deserve it. I will watch over you all. I just hope Dad comes home soon."
His mind was hurting him, so was his heart. 'a family that will always love you...', was that what he had? or was that he gave up? Oh no, it was back again. Jahazra....Aysha....Trina...Kujack...Ez....Ger closed his eyes tight and pulled his head away from the female and placed it down. Not now....why now? He was happy just then. The cubs around, Aysha happy. This was a family he loved a lot....but there was the one back home too. He was plagued again....
"Aysha...please rest. I will watch over you."

Aysha glanced down at her cubs as they all seemed to fall asleep. The key word there was seemed. She could tell that her daughter wasn't compeltely asleep yet, and she was probably just faking it. Her breathing was faster than the other cubs', which was how she knew. One's breathing always slowed down when one was asleep. However, she didn't comment on it. As long as Athena was resting in some way...
She glanced over at Ger. He seemed troubled for a moment. She could tell by the look in his eyes and the way that he sort of winced. The lioness frowned. She had a guess as to what was bothering him, but she wasn't sure and didn't think it was her place to pry.
Nodding slightly, she simply laid her head down upon her paws, her body half curled around her cubs. Her ears fell back against her head, however, as she continued to worry about the male.
Yet, all she could manage was: "We love you Ger," before she closed her eyes to rest as Ger had told her to.
