we (low brass) stand in a line and do a weird version of the wave, instead of just waving our arms, we throw our arm backwards and hit eachother in the butt, you should see the sousaphone player try it, he always hits his bell on accident and hurts his hand. its so funny we cant help but laugh. whee

We do lots of things before a half-time show here are a few. We say a chant to get the band excited just before we go on the field. We pray in a group (usually before the chant). And probably the wierdest one was with my old trumpet section leader. Before every away game he had to pee on the back of the other team's stadium or bleachers......don't ask. neutral

Our band cheer is All: clapping. DMs: Are you from west? Band: We are from West. DMs: Are you intense? Band: We are intense. DMs: Are you the best? Band: We are the best. All: Ugh *hip thrust*
My section, trombones, quack before each show. The tenors say one two three don't suck. D-line has an asume cheer, but I don't know what it is.

before going on at competitions, we clarinets yell "Beef!" and then we swoosh with the director (put all hands in the middle and push them to the right and say "swoosh") the saxes say "ra ra la di da, here we go saxophones" and the flutes yell "piccs and flutes, flutes and piccs, we're so good we'll make you sick" and then the whole band prays and then we go the other sections probably have stuff too but i don't know what they are.

Every time we are getting dresses, Evan(the only other person in my section) and I go into the bathrooms where we yell,"For the sake of tradition, it smells like a** in here!" Also, before we perform during halftime, the entire brass section gets together and plays Winnie the Pooh.
We don't know why, we just do.

Before we step off for Pre-Game, we say the band pledge of allegiance.
Before the halftime show we kiss our hands then lightly tap the emblems on the hats of other band members for luck.

The section with the 'spirit stick' gets to lead the pre-show warm up. biggrin DD

Our sousaphone section has a group orgasm (really don't ask), I tune everyone twice, and then wish them all good luck with a hug. It's wierd that I tune them, because I don't play tenor sax- I play bassoon! =D

Well, this is it now, everybody get downBefore pre-game, our drum majors go around and give handshakes and hugs.
Before halftime, usually just mess around while in formation and waiting to go on. A lot of crazy jokes come from that. x3 This is all I can take, this is how a heart breaks.

Drumline, what we do, is we click each other's sticks twice. Everybody has to hit everybody's sticks. It's for good luck. It gets annoying sometimes, but hey, it's tradition.

Oh, and the drumajors always run down the line and slap everybody's ahnd, and sometimes, while we're waiting for the other band to get off the field at competition, everyone holds hadns with the eprson across from them for reassurance. (We usually enter the field in two lines) Oh, and when we warm up before halftime,w e all get in a circle and do The Happy Dance. (Don't ask.)
