"Yeah... I'm kinda a pig, I've been meaning to unpack. It just hasn't happened yet. A messy child will fit right in with me." Tristan relaxed at the laughing. People laughing made him feel better even if they were laughing at him, at least he was amusing them in some way.
He kicked off his shoes and when inside. He had been smart enough that when he had found the box he had packed towels and the like he had put it near the bathroom so he knew where to find it. It didn't take him long to find a towel and toss it at Dacian (or in his general direction, Tristan had a very bad arm).
"I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of refreshments to offer you. There is some pop I think, probably flat, I know there is beer... cold pizza, bacholr kind of things," Tristan said and from went into the kitchen, he himself was thirsty. "Make yourself at home. I do have a couch there," he was trying to make a joke, "under the blankets and there is the tv," it was a big tv, hard to miss, "remote is somewhere too."

"That's fine, I think I got plenty of refreshments out there..."
And still had some along for the ride, it seemed. Lucky him.
Snatching at the towel that had landed on a nearby box, he wiped his hair off, the proceeded to dry himself off best he could. Which wasn't very good, but at least he wasn't creating his own little lake in Tristan's living room. And since Dacian happened to the 'caretaker' and 'fix-it' person of the compound, well...
He didn't want to deal with water damage.
Calling to the kitchen, Dacian eyed the boxes as he wondered where the couch was; that joke was as much truth as it was humorous, it seemed. Or he could just be blind; he did have a tendancy to miss stuff a few feet from his nose, after all.
Was that the correct saying? It was something like that...
Ah, there it was!
Calling into the kitchen, the mage couldn't help but smirk, "I don't think I even want to attempt looking for a remote. I'd get lost and no one would see me for a week or two."

"If they saw you again at all, I think my apartment may have a black hole or two," Tristan came back with a glass of water for himself. He want alchol, he hadn't gotten to smoke so he wanted to drink, but he wanted to make a good impression.
He came back to the living room and pushed some papers on the floor to reveal a bit of coffee table where he put his glass. The couch was kind of hard to see, as he had about five blankets on top of it, he pulled some of them off and tossed them in a corner ontop of a bunch of boxes.
"I sleep out here so thats why I got all the blankets," he explained. It was a wonder really. At the moment he had two bedrooms to himself and the places he slept where in his office, his head on his desk, and on the couch. He had his reasons but to some one who didn't know him it probably seemed a little odd.

At hearing that Tristan slept out here rather then in the bedroom, Dacians mind immediately slid into landlord mode.
"Is there a problem with it?"
If there was, he'd need to figure out how to fix it...though don't ask him what could be wrong with a bedroom. Maybe something made noises? Or there were bugs? Ye-ech...he really hoped that wasn't the case; he didn't like bugs.
He'd just call the exterminator if that was the case. Though really, with any problems he should be calling a professional - but he had a tendancy to work at it first, make it worse, and then let the professionals deal with it. After all, he was (technically) the landlord! It was his job!

Tristan shifted sort of uncomfortably. How to explain...
"Nothings wrong with the rooms, its just..." he wasn't sure he wanted to say. If he didn't though, would Dacian really believe nothing was wrong? He might as well. "I just got out of a sort of serious relationship. I'm not quite... I'm not use to sleeping in a bed by myself yet."
He blsuhed a little, it was kind of stupid, kind of cheesy and kind of a lie. He had not just gotten out of the relationship. It had been almost a year since he had seen Felix last and he still want over him.

Oh!
Well, that made sense. And it was a relief, knowing he didn't have to worry about bugs invading the compound...he'd have to deck out his apartment in bug spray if that was the case.
Noting the blush, Dacian spoke then to reassure the other man - since if he had just gotten out of a relationship, he was probably still tender about the subject, "Well, that's understandable."
Flopping onto the couch, the mage swiftly moved the conversation on - no need to force Tristan to dwell - and spoke up again.
"Get any good channels?"
He never watched much television, but he'd already recognized how many channels there were it. It was so strange - why would anyone need 500 channels, like he'd seen advertised one place?

He'd dwell anyways, he always did, that's how he spent his days now. He needed to get over it he just didn't know how.
"I get a few," Tristan said, trying to make it so he didn't dwell right now. He could think about it later when no one else but the dog was around, "I watch more movies than I do TV so I don't get that many channels."
It was a bit of a shame with the large TV he had. It was the kind of television that demanded lots of channels because it was simply so big and so beautiful. Instead however he had almost any movie you could think of, he had such an extensive library.

"What movies do you have, then? We could watch one while I wait for the rain to slow -" And hope that the labs were still unlocked - "Though I have to warn you I won't be much help in picking one out. I don't watch movies often."
Dacian was more of an outdoor-sy sort of person: give him his garden with lots of sun, and he's happy. He even liked rain, to a certain limit...that limit had been passed as soon as he got drenched for being out in the rain only a moment, however.
And he honestly didn't mind getting drenched so long as it was warm. But it wasn't.
At least he wasn't still standing in the entry way...

"A Movie sounds good. What kind do you like?" Tristan asked and smiled a little. Movies made him happy, distracted him a little. They were also the one thing he had unpacked.
He had them in piles next to the television and a couple of stands for them as well. He went over to them now to look them over, try and find his favourite of each genre, or at least the one he was in the mood to watch because he had far to many favourites to pick just one.
"Action, drama, horror, romance, comdey?"

Crinkling his forehead, Dacian scratched his chin. "Well, not drama...I don't want anything depressing."
He didn't think he had many more preferrences then just that, except of course, "No horror, either. I'm a relaxed kind of guy, but I'm just a tad too jumpy for those."
The mage could still remember being bored one night, and a rare occasion of flipping on the television - and finding a horror film. Dear Gods, he never wanted to see a horror film again...it had been one of those things were you huddled on the couch in the dark and stared at the television, jumped at every little noise, yet still he couldn't stop watching: he had to know how it ended.
"I'm up for anything else - your pick."
Comedy, romance or action...he was fine with any of those. Though he didn't like the idea of any romance that was particularly sappy.

Tristan looked through his movies as he tried to find a good one. If he found a good action movie it could apply to all three genres, action, comedy and romance, so thats what he looked for now.
It finally came down to Ongbak, which was Tristan's all time favourite matial arts movie, thus meaning plenty of action (thiugh little of anything else) and the 1998 Godzilla movie. Godzilla won after a moment of mental debate because it had not subtitles and, well it had a giant lizard and that made it cool.
"Alright, this one is pretty good. Kinda cheesy at parts but lots of action and explosions which is what makes movies," He put it in his dvd player and then flopped down on the couch himself so he could watch.

As the movie came up on the screen, Dacian watched for a bit, before grinning as the movie advanced further. A giant lizard attacking a city...at least it seemed rather entertaining. Tristan had said it was cheesy, but while the special effects could use some work, the mage had never seen anything quite like it.
But then again, he didn't exactly watch many movies, or tv. So for all he knew, it could be overdone.
As it was however, he liked it.
"A giant lizard thing. Whoever came up with this was a genius."
Or maybe just a genius, but something close, anyway.
((*snicker* You should watch...ah, I think it's called Monsters Attack...eh, something. It's an old movie from the era of giant monster movies (Japanese, of course), where they threw pretty much every giant monster you can think of at various cities in the world. And aliens, too xD~ it was amazing.))

"I know, monster movies are genius. There is a whole bunch of really old Godzilla movies and they have him fight other huge monster things, they're very amusing," Tristan said. he had those movies too, all the old school Godzilla where the dubbing was off.
Tristan was enjoying the movie lots, as he always enjoyed movies, there was something missing. It took him a moment to figure out what it was then bam! Popcorn! he had forgot popcorn. One could not watch movies without popcorn, it was almost a crime.
"Be right back," he said before heading to the kitchen. He didn't have a lot of food in his apartment but he knew he had popcorn, in fact it was the biggest part of his diet, he always kept about three boxes of microwave stuff around and some actual kernals just in case.
((that sounds very very amusing))

((It was, heh))
Peering curiously in the direction Tristan had gone, Dacian briefly wondered what that was about. Ah well, he'd find out whenever he came back.
Grinning at the television as he thought of what Tristan had mentioned - more movies like this? Except fighting other monsters? It sounded very entertaining...
So the mage called to the kitchen, "I think I might borrow those from you sometime, then. Or just come over here and watch them, anyway."
Ah, friendship born of monster movies.

Popcorn in the microwave, Tristan had to reply over the sound of popping. He laughed a bit at first, "No problem, with either. My apartment is always open... literally," he wouldn't mind the company either. He loved his dog but Hamlet wasn't very good at making conversation.
The microwave dinged and Tristan removed the bag, grabbing a bowl so it would be easier for two people to eat the popcorn and returned to the living room. "Movies are just wrong without popcorn."
