I forgot to mention I'd picked this one up. The version of "Song for Ten" takes some getting used to, but is actually quite good. The addition of a new verse and middle bit referencing "Doomsday" are very good.
My other favourites on there are the full-length credits (no dratted BBC continuity announcers, hurrah!); "The Face of Boe"; "Madam de Pompadour"; "The Doctor's Theme"; "Doomsday"; and "Father's Day". They're the more melancholic tunes.
I cannot stand the song they did for "The Runaway Bride" (can't remember what it's called). That's also sung by Neil Hannon.
An added bonus: the CD comes with a Doctor Who badge...

It does? Where? I don't see anything but the booklet in the cover. BTW, Does everyone have the same problem with Track 17--UNIT that I do? It cuts off very abruptly & goes on to the next track.

Eirwyn Hey, all you North American fans! The Soundtrack is here in the stores now! I just bought mine at Borders. Their price is $16.99...but if you have a Borders rewards coupon you can do even better. I had a 30% off coupon so I got mine for less than $13! HUZZAH!! I shall run out tomorrow and get it after I go to the doctor! (edit: just realized how perfect that sounds) xd xd xd Where's the coupon from? I only have the members rewards card....

I still don't have a copy gonk
In HMV, in teh soundtrack section, they didn't have any of the ones i wanted (DW and halo 2). So i got my own back...
They had 3 boxes of LOTR dvds, one film in each box (lots of copies of each, obviously)
I muddled them up. Ha, bastards, not stocking music catering to my exact tastes. THEY SHALL FEEL MY SLIGHTLY ANNOYING WRATH!

It cuts off very abruptly & goes on to the next track. Maybe it was just the edition I got from CD Wow. That claims to be limited, although what the difference is, I don't know. You're right, there's definitely 1 track that seems just to die in the middle; I was just listening to the CD in the bath. Normally I just queue up the ones I like, so I hadn't really noticed before. I've also remembered why I don't like the song from "The Runaway Bride". It sounds exactly like some other song that was released ages ago and that was all about some cold & dying snake asking a woman to take him in and get him warm, at which point he bites & poisons her, saying she knew he was a snake when she took him in, what did she expect? Bizarre, but I promise that song does exist! According to Google, it's called "The Snake". DW

Well, the Star Trek franchise proved it CAN be done if somebody bothers to do it right & not try to make it all over for the non-fannish audience. I've seen some of those Greenlight movie concepts. They were incredibly idiotic & had virtually nothing to do with the show as we know it even now. The TV Movie looks downright amazing by comparision. :X

Either half the time they spend explaining most everything, or they just cut-paste stuff so it gets choppy. I bet the TV movie looks better than that other stuff.... I think the third Harry Potter movie is a good example of this, in my knowledge. They chopped out all the stuff that fans would really love in order to not confuse general audiences (aka: people who didn't read the books)..and then in later movies they have to continue cutting out those scenes/characters in order to stay with the continuity...and it all gets messed up in the end.... gonk
