Well, it was cool seeing all my favourite characters in a different light in Advent Children, but Ill always prefer the manga style versions. It'd be a shame if people got all excited about a new version and neglected the original. Ummmm, I haven't really said yes or no, have I? Yes, because I can't get enough of the characters and story etc, but the original will always be the best! confused

I think it would be the best thing for the PS3. it was for the PSX in my opinion. It'd be like God of War for PS2. I agree that the manga style of the original was cool and i don't think they should change the story line one bit, also none of the glitches were u can get Aerith back should be included this time. I think that the graphics would rock everyones socks off. just imagine the whole Nibhelm back story in the new CG animation. Heck Yeah Buddy. I vote a definate resounding YES

they should remake it for ps3 but they wont, but we can always dream cant we?

i think they should, but only up the graphics and typos. maybe uncensor it idk that was funny. but other than that leave EVERYTHING as was..hell they should add the original game, as like a bonus disk for it like the remakes of the old games, and they should make a bonus japanese original version and stuff. just to make the sale even better....but not changing ANYTHING from each games original format...THAT would be perfection at its finest

And many people wouldn't play the original.

If they do remake it they should have the origanal in with it so you can play the newer one and the origanal....

Though remaking a game opens up a lot of issues and arguments for both sides, you have to ask yourself, if any one game from the PSX era deserved a high-def revamp, wouldn't this be that one game?
It would be one of the greatest (and most profitable) ventures Square-Enix could take on at this point. The graphics at the time were great, but they have aged considerably over the last 9 years, even the FMV cutscenes... and the typos/grammatical errors are a whole different issue entirely. With copies of the original increasingly more difficult to find, and ever more costly for that matter, it would open up this game to a whole new generation of fans, and make an already great game a much deeper, richer, more thoroughly enjoyable experience for generations to come.
You know Square-Enix has been watching and listening to reaction and speculation ever since they released the tech demo, just to see wether or not this revamp would be worth doing (it would have to be profitable, considering the cost that would be involved in producing it), and if they haven't given it the green light yet, I'm certain they have to at least be heavily considering it. There are too many fans of this game, including myself, who want to see this happen to not consider it, and I believe if the compilation of FFVII series (Dirge Of Cerberus, Crisis Core, etc.) are successfull enough, they likely will go ahead with the "coup de grace" so to speak, and top it off with a full revamp of the original that made them the company they are today.

It`s a good suggestion to include a copy of the original game in with the new version, I would be up for that. I think i`ve changed my mind.
