Her ears flattened at his response, minutely she had hoped that he had just found the place and had not done all this but she knew he had. Still, she watched as he placed his paw on another and spoke. She stared at him, Love? How could something such as this be love? How could he do such a thing to other creatures? She knew she should be outraged but something held back back.

"...God?" She asked quietly, "Her love?" Her eyes were filled with confusion, what kind of female would make someone else do such a thing? What kind of God would be vile enough to say that path was right? She stared at Aion and looked at him with questions in her gaze. Something that had started out so pleasant was no turning into something she was beginning to fear.

Looking at her strangely as if she grew another head, he often forgot that no one knew him...or knew of him for that matter. Well, a few did who were now terrfied of him, which served them right. Shaking his head lightly, he sat down, his gaze still looking distant as he began to speak slowly, almost painfully...

"Yes. My mother told me so...Her god does wonders. He gave her such strength to love my father completely...she showed me how to love Nilakee...." His eyes casted a glance to the singled out pawprint, and smirked in triumph....yet it was a hollow attempt. "With him at my side...I can gain the strength my mother always wanted me to have, yet never could be. Once this shrine is complete...she will change her mind, Her and Nilakee with accept me once more." Aion confessed, it seemed to easy in his mind....to be with the one he loved, who was taken away from him...to be loved by his mother...all he had to do was sacrifice, like his god told him to.

Elu shook her head, unbelieving, "No god should be able to do that." She said, eyes filled with concern, "No god should tell you that to love someone you must kill another. How is that love? How can that possibly be called love?" She shook her head violently, "I don't know your mother and I don't know Nilakee but no sane creature would harm another and call it love!" Her voice grew hard, "Something like that isn't love, don't call it that. Love is when you care for someone. Love is when you care enough for someone that harming them doesn't even factor into your thoughts when you think of them." She stepped forward and moved until she was directly in front of him, "And no one should have told you that love is like that. I don't know who your god is and frankly, I don't really care. Such vile a creature shouldn't even be named, to have taught someone that hurting another is love."

She turned her head to the side and bared her teeth at a bloody pawprint, "Such thing should never have happened." She looked at him again, dark brown eyes filled with determination and a touch of concern, "Didn't you ever question it?" She asked gently, "Didn't you ever question why? Why inflicting pain and harming another would be called love? Do you know what love really means?" She demanded. Anger stirred within her, not at Aion but at this God this god and his mother who had fallen victim to it.

"I...." Aion for once in his life found himself at a loss for words. It wasn't due to avoidance, or rage....it was purely could not formulate a response to fool even himself. Listening to her angrily talk and preach about love, it was nothing he had ever heard before. "I..felt it once. About Nilakee, she was my everything..." Once more his eyes shifted to the pawprint...yet his eyes filled with rage as he stood and took an angry swipe at it, tearing the concrete slight as it made a sickening sound. "She left me, on the eve we were to run away together for my brother. I went to confront him...to found he had...killed her. I did upon him the same fate he deserved!" Aion hissed, his voice taking on a more axicid quality as he placed his now bleeding paw on the ground.

"I wasn't strong enough to have her love, same with my mothers. My brother was more fit for that, which is why he received Nilakee, She told me her god would show me the way...and it did. I thought at one time love was devotion, and the wilingness to do anything for that person. Yet love is only deception and pain, given to those with the strength to keep it as their own. Why would I question the one thing which had brought me acceptance all of these years? Kept me alive when i've lost everything close to me, all of my dreams and desires!?! he might be the God of Sadistic Corruption, yet he is the closest thing i've ever had to hope. if I give that up, I will have nothing! You might as well add my bloody pawprint on this wall!" Aion hissed, taking a dominant step foreward, eyes slit with an odd mix of emotions; rage, malice, scorn....and sorrow.

Elu refused back down even an inch, she wouldn't take back what she had said, it was the truth. "If she left you, how could she have truly loved you?" She asked, eyes sparking with a miriad of emotions, sympathy, concern, and others. "I know what that is like. I know what it is like to be betrayed like that but you don't see me killing others and calling it 'Love'!" She shook her head vigorously, "It was never that you weren't strong enough for love. It never is. It's the fact that the other person doesn't feel what you do. They can't understand how you feel if they don't feel the same way. The fact that they don't makes them unable to help stop what they do!"

She looked at him intently, "You never failed anyone. Not truly. And to question such a God you should! Gods like that pervert the truth, they manipulate it to thier own gain and twist it around their victims until that person can't tell which is right anymore." Her eyes softened, "I should know. Such things have happened before..." She shook her head again, evaporating her old memories, " Tell me, Aion, do you really think that love is only for deception and pain? Is that what you think of it deep in your heart?" Her raised a single paw and touched his chest, "Will you really have nothing if you free yourself from him? Do you truly think that way?" She stared into his eyes, "Tell me." she whispered.

"She...loved me. I know she did...." Aion spoke, although seeming a little dazed. Why was everything she said making sense, everything he had experienced showed him otherwise. How was it that someone like her had gone through what he had...without taking the same course of action after? Had she no pain? Did she not want to find a way to make things as they used to be? Shaking his head roughly, he couldn't shake the conflict in his mind no matter how hard he tried.

A small gasp escaped his lips for the first time that he could ever recall as she placed a paw on his chest, his eyes immediately looking down at it. Now that was a first, he was touched without being inflicted with pain, as the fur under her paw became warm in a comforting heat. How strange indeed, as it was much different then the sting of a smack, or a kick. he had thought about her question hard, yet frowned as he gazed back up into her eyes. "I don't know. I don't know what to think. He's not speaking to me...." He shook his head slowly...feeling and looking like a lost lamb without anyone's guidance. "I haven't used my heart for as long as I can remember....but I will not have anything If I lose him..."

Elu shook her head, "She didn't. Not if she left you for your brother." She looked at him closely for severl seconds, "Do you...know what my god is?" She asked softly, she continued before he could speak, "My Goddess is of 'One who Stands Tall no matter the Hardship'. And I chose her because of what happened to me."

Her eyes glazed over as the memories swam to the surface, "His name was Soren and he did much the same thing that your brother did. He took my heart and when he was assured that he had me, he killed my brother and tried to run away with my sister." She hung her head, a single tear trailing down her cheek, "I saw him do it. I saw him kill my brother and I saw him try to take my sister. I couldn't let him take her." She looked back up at him, her expression fierce. "So I made sure he didn't take her." She shook her head, "No, I didn't kill him. I made sure I didn't kill him. So he could live and know the wrongs he had done."

She pressed her paw into his chest, "Do you understand? I lost someone too. I lost two, the one I thought I loved and one of my own family, but I didn't give in to my pain. I didn't let it control me like you're doing. You're letting the thought of losing something control you, but it's only one thing. Haven't you ever thought that maybe there was more then one thing waiting on the other side? That you weren't alone over there?"

She stared at him, dark brown eyes glinting, "You'll have something if you leave him. You'll have people who care about you. People who really care about you. Not creatures that just want to use you for their own gains." She smiled at him, "Don't you want to be loved for who you are?" She asked, "Not what you are, but who?"

"Don't you get it?" Aion spoke quietly, his head slowly moving back to take a glance around him on the walls even though her paw applied more force to his chest. "I now know you do share some of the same fate which was delt to me, I am...sorry for that. Yet I don't posess what you are...what makes you, you. I would have enjoyed killing him, like I did my own brother. I have gone for so long being this way, it seems who I was born to be has slipped away into the darkness." A small huff of sad irony escaped his lips as he closed his eyes and shook his head. "The monster I have become must have killed me long ago."

"I may have desired love and acceptance, yet I thank you for showing me that light. Its impossible not, for who I am is inlovable, and who I was is gone. I'm simply a what, now." Aion, turned, placing his own bloodied paw on the wall near the one he destroyed, smearing it slightly with an odd look on his face. "Befitting." He spoke, before taking a few limped steps towards the enterance where they had come into his hellhole. "I will lead you out, I would hate for you to end up like so many down here..."

Elu let out the faintest of sighs. It didn't matter what he had become, he wasn't a monster. Had he been, he would have killed her himself. Suddenly, she leapt forward, careening toward him and colliding with him, forcing his body to the ground. she stood over him, breathing heavily, "Idiot!" She shouted, her eyes glittering with annoyance and anger, "You're an idiot!" She shook her head and glared down at him, "Can't you see? You aren't a monster! You never have been! What you are now is merely the shell of a creature that has been hurt too many times to really understand things anymore!"

She bared her teeth at him, "Don't you get it? You can't be a monster. It simply isn't possible." She huffed, "A monster wouldn't have told me he'd lead me out. A monster wouldn't have let me see his secret place and let me live to tell about it. He would've killed me as soon as I entered the room." She looked down at him fiercely, "You. Are. Not. A. Monster." She enuciated each word carefully, making sure that he understand her perfectly. She stood over him and glared down, waiting for him to deny what she said.

Moments after his offer to lead her out of his shrine, Aion was met with the cold hard concrete. A low growl emitted from his throat as his head throbbed, yet this died fairly quickly as he looked up to see a rather angered Elu towering above him. This shock was shown clearly in his eyes...if felt as if he was in the same position that his countless victims had been in. Was this the last thing they experienced before he had ended their life? Aion did not like this feeling one bit as the remorse began to bubble inside him like acid.

Aion couldn't place such an emotion which coursed through his veins at this moment, yet if he had to take a guess this would be the closest thing he'd ever felt to fear as she gave him a look which could kill. So, he listened, watching in almost a fascination how she had become so vivid and strong in a matter of moments. He was about to retort, opening his mouth to let forth an array of angered words...yet they never came. Instead, he chuckled and shook his head. "I.....am an Idiot." How ironic, as since day one that was what he called everyone else... who was the fool now? "Yet why isn't a monster better than being a useless shell...its more of an existance anyways. I could at least be feared rather than pittied..."

Elu set her jaw, "Who said you were going to be pitied?" she asked firmly, "I don't recall ever saying that. And" She bent down until she was inches from his face, "I never said there was nothing inside that shell. After all..." She grinned at him, "Perhaps there's someone in there I haven't fully met yet." She stepped off him and sat down next to him, "Perhaps this person inside is just waiting for a chance to get out and show himself. Afterfall," She shrugged and winked at him, "I never said there wasn't anything inside." She waved a paw about, "How am I to know what kind of person is inside the shell, if he never comes out? The person may be a monster, but he may be different."

She gave an exaggerated shrug, "How am I to know that unless he comes out? If he doesn't I'm stuck with a shell, and how is a shell going to protect me? I do recall you talking about protecting me from something..." She tapped a paw against her chin, "Or was I imagining that? I don't think so, but my mind might be a bit muddled from everything that's happened lately..."

She grinned down at him, "Are you sure you wanted to leave a little helpless female malu all alone to face predators and the like? Only a monster would do that but we've already discussed that you are not a monster so that option is out..." She shrugged and smiled mischieviously at him, "Am I going to get an answer or are you going to keep staring at me like that?" She asked playfully.

Aion could not believe what had just happened....had he been dominated, scolded, and told off in under five minutes? Blinking as if it was a dream, it seemed to be untrue as she was -still- standing above him. Frowning, he shook his head as a smirk crossed his lips. "You know, you're just as bad as I am..you manipulative Maluess." He scoffed lightly, turning his head away as he struggled lightly to stand with his forepaw still bleeding. Why did he wish to take on stone with his claws again..?

Pausing, he turned with an almost comical look of suspicion on his face. "You're stuck with a shell? And I said You needed protection from me! Maybe you should listen instead of preach sometimes..." Aion huffed lightly, tilting his head as he could not believe how bold she was being at this little game of chicken they were playing. From all that had happened tonight, Aion was not going to lose again....for he may have a wavering view of his god, and himself....yet he would not be shown up twice. "The only predator here....is me." Walking right up to her, he did a move quite unlike himself, directly kissing her without any notion or signal ahead of time. Parting, he smirked with confidence and abruptly turned and walked to the enterance once again. "Now come, get the hell out of my shrine before I change my mind about bringing you back."

"Manipulative what are you--?!" She suddenly found herself being kissed and the next moment he was walking off, leaving behind an extremely flustered female. "Hey!" She scrambled after him, "What was that?" She demanded, as she caught up with him, her face still heated, "Where did that come from?" She couldn't look at him correctly now and she glanced away from his eyes.

She pouted a bit when he didn't answer but an idea came to her as they walked toward the entrance of the temple. When they reached the great doorway to the outside revealing a sun just beginning to shine over the horizon she turned around at him and gave him a smirk of her own, "You think that's special, huh?" She asked and before he could retort she nudged his bleeding paw out from under him and slowly licked the congelling blood from it. With a merry smile she skipped out onto the front landing of the temple and looked back, "You do you like that?" She asked coyly, winking at him.

Smirking as he decided to leave her flustered questions by saying nothing at all, he squinted his eyes disdainfully at the mornings sun. He hadn't seen the light of day in a few weeks now, and it burned his retina's, or so he liked to think. Casting a sideways glance to Elu, he raised a brow at her question, not enjoying that smirk of hers any the better. About to inquire what the hell she was thinking about, when he watched her head dip down and....lick his bloody paw!!?!?!?

Eyes shooting open, he looked at her with his lips partially agape as if she had just grown another head. "What the hell was that!? That was blo- dirt-...That was....You're crazy." Aion finally settled on an answer, frowning lightly as he sneered in almost a playful mannor. "Don't be expecting me to touch those lips for a looooong while." Shaking his head he looked at her with a raised brow, still in disbelief. All of this over a walk..

Elu blinked innocently, her tail swishing back and forth, "For a while? You mean, you were going to do it again?" She grinned at him, "And who's the crazy one here? The one who thought he was a monster or the one who licked a paw? Tell me, which one is crazy?"

She trotted back over to him and circled him once, "And tell me, Aion, what are you thinking about me?" She smiled at him, entirely amused by this and past events, "When you figure it out, I'll be waiting." She turned and slowly flicked her dark brown tail under his chin before trotting off a ways, a distinct bounce to her step.
