Thom was sorely tempted to just ignore Newt's stuttered questions, but the shock and disbelief clear in his tone when he recognized the cobra man was hard to brush aside. He had forgotten about the dress again. Whoops. One couldn't blame him, really. He had been sleeping for the past hour at least. It was an easy something to forget. Yeah. He released Newt's arm, but gestured for him to keep up, explaining as best he could on the way. "We don't know, we're going see, and Sabin stuck me in th' dress. Good enough?"

"Name's Marshall." Marshall said to the Gorilla-suited man, "And don't worry 'bout it. No harm no foul. The big guy here is Gaius." Marshall said, pointing at the rather silvery man with his cane as he followed the large group. He was kind of scared, but the Labs wouldn't do any thing too evil to a large group, would they? Then again, it WAS Halloween...

"...Gaius, thats not a real sword is it?" Marshall asked, already knowing the answer.

"GAH!" Alec puttered and flailed a spare arm infront of his face the second something sticky touched his grey skin. Ugh, he HATED spider webs! And with people in front, he never even had a chance to see it coming. The feeling irritated his sensitive muzzle enough for him to rub at it for awhile, sufficiently smearing off most of his facepaint while silently hoping a spider hadn't crawled into his wig in the meantime.

Pyroth had been concentrating on the scent in front of him and remembering why it was so familiar that the spiderwebs gave him a start, he yelped as the strands hit him, instantly freaking out and shaking them off of himself with a terrified snarl. It wasn't just the spiderwebs that freaked him out, he'd SEEN the spiders that lived on the island and every last one of them made him want to scream his lungs out and run away.

He shuddered as he made sure he hadn't gathered any arachnid hitch hikers and spat. "******** SPIDERS." his voice clearly rattled.

Billy's head lolled about as he was showered in spiderwebs, his limbs all worming about and beer splashing from his half empty bottle in an attempt to clear his face and wig from the sticky threads, "Why're... we goin' t'th'woods?" He mumbled, "Don'... bloody... feckin' spiderwebs..."

The stickiness hit her full on the face. Stumbling, she instinctively began clawing at her face, letting out something between a frantic spit and a hiss. What the?! She grabbed at her eyes, frantic to get the stuff off her. It was wet and stuck to her fur and face like glue, blinding her momentarily as she struggled to rip it off.

She flung what she could get off onto the nearby foliage, standing still for a moment to dig her claws into her matted fur and wrench it out. Off! Get it off! The smell of it was raising her fur, making it worse.

She hopped on one paw, trying to still follow the lights. Spiderweb?! But way too much!

Alec twitched when heard the voice, only now noticing the canine treading infront of him and the blatant fact that it'd just spoken. What the heeeell...? The teen blinked, straining for a better look before deciding he better concentrate on the path instead. Weird friggin island.

Unfortunately his preoccupation caused Alec to unwillingly ignore Billy's incoherent speakings as he was much too enthrawled with what might happen.

Newt had to drop back down onto all fours once Thom had let go of his arm, trying his best to keep up at his froggish leaping pace. "W-well.. well... y-you... ah... l-look r-rather l-lovely!" Newt smiled in half honesty, half gest, although it was missede in the darkness. At the sounds of those further up in the line giving cries of fright, the frogman gave a squeek himself, leaping to hobble upright and cling to the Princess's arm, "I... I'm... I'm n-not quite s-sure I like th-this walk... wh-why... why d-don't we g-go back? Th-this... m-might be... be... f-frightening or... or s-something..."

Oz smiled beneath his mask, which was a shame. He waved to Gaius in front as he peered back and gave him a polite nod. He had apoint - it was certianyl the biggest Halloween event Oz had ever attended.

What the hell?

Oz saw the first few members of this rather oddly mixed party begin to fidget and yelp, and he even heard one them exclaim somehting about spiders. Bleh, must have been a load of cobwebs or something.

"Nice to meet you Marshall, and you Gaius," he replied politely, but one could easily tell he was slightly distracted. The thought hadn't even crossed his mind that someone might be behind him as he kept slowing down and then speeding up again.

There is nothing more for a good couple hundred feet. The night noises around you mixed with the smoke set the hair on the back of your neck (if you still have any...) on edge knowing that something has to be coming, but hasn't... yet.

Then, further in on this "Haunted Trail," creepy sounds begin to play through presumably hidden speakers - whispery, chittery noises that seem to eminate from every direction around the path - sometimes sounding closer - VERY close... and sometimes far off where most have to strain to hear it, and frequently both distances at the same time, as if you were surrounded. They aren't in any specific language. The sounds vary in inflection from conspiratory, to mocking and jittery, creepy laughter.

Alec's cry of alarm made Sid stop, but even seeing him frantically wiping his face couldn't keep him from getting some of the leftover cobwebs on his own... and in his mouth.

"Ugh," he said, trying to pick it out. Whatever he felt about spiders, at the moment was pretty certain he was imagining everything. Either way, the stuff tasted awful.

It was like some kind of strange dream. Blurry silhouettes moved around him and dim, fuzzy lights either side lead the way.

The flea-man's eyes were wide as he slowly moved along, the bristles over his body stood erect, tearing the cloth of his jacket even more. From the lack of help, F assumed everyone else was just as confused as he was.

Then he turned his head to find a chainsaw-totting man with a hockey mask for a face following close behind him, and tripped over his own feet with a yelp.

Gallen walked down the path behind some other islanders. He noted the young guy who had been clobbered with the bottle and heard the familiar voice of Tommy, but he could not see hi m in the moving crowed and dark.

He continued down the path keeping track of the lights as he walked, hoping he would not trip over anything in the dark. His ears twitched picking up slight sounds, which before the change he may never have heard. His heart beat hard though, part of him kept telling him this was how many horror films start. While the other half chuckled and reminded him this was just a silly Halloween party.....with a bunch of.....animal people. AND that he was becoming one too

The ever-brave shark boy shrunk his shoulders at the creepy sounds from around the dark pathway, clinging to the handlebars of the wheelchair almost tightly enough to cut off circulation. He took the opportunity to glance back at the conga-line of Islanders following and seemed to feel a bit more at ease. Sid was behind him, and he watched him for a moment for reassurance.

"It's not a real sword," Ginerva reassured the Penguin man up two people ahead of her. Then, she stepped around the Gorilla man and gently prodded the back of his shoulder with her knife. "I don't know about this one, though." She wouldn't harm anyone with it, no. It was actually relatively blunt, but it sure was fun to play with!

As soon as she was done, the sounds began. They made her squeal in delight, and her laughter seemed to match the evil sounds coming from all around them.
