Journal Entry
"Journal, meet the family."

Waya had been here for a few days, finally starting to warm up to the others. He joined the for meals and even a few times went out to play with the other children. However, Ballentine couldn?t help but notice that journal had never left his side, even when playing.
He had sewed on a pocket onto the underside of his fur wrap with some scrap bed sheet material, so ever why here went the book when with him.
Even now, Waya was currently sitting in the gardens with the journal in his lap and open to a set of pages as he wrote...Quote: My NEW FAMILY
Journal, meet the family. Well? more like here's what I think of them.
Ballentine : She always seems busy. The other day she and I went on a walk though. It was fun. We didn't talk much because I didn't want to, but she tried a few times to get me to say how I feel. I just don't want to tell her yet, so I keep writing in you.
Jason : He's sorta my 'big brother' and very quiet. He keeps to himself and reads a lot. I don't think I ever saw him without his headphones on, unless he needed to hear you. He seems to be a bit moody with the other children sometimes. I hope he's not that way with me too...
Though, he can do this cool trick with fire, making the flame dance on his fingertips. I saw it one night when I was spying on him.
Tasanee : My 'sister' is very smart and a tom boy. I thought girls were supposed to be quiet and delicate, but she's tougher than Edward and Hugo. She carries this large staff everywhere with her. It was so heavy when I tried to pick it up! I can't believe she can swing it around like nothing.
Edward : He's a chatterbox... And asks me too many questions. Very nosey like a cat. But I guess that?s like him 'cause he is a cat after all. He has ears and a tail similar to me. Bricriu pulled his tail once and made him cry.
Hugo : Another brother, and always with Edward. The two share a room. It's next door to mine. Sometimes during the day I see Hugo outside exploring. He has a big imagination.
He tired to get me to go explore with him once, and dragged me out even though I said no. But I actually had fun. We went to this stream in the woods and hunted for crawfish. I found this really big one but it got away when Edward jumped into the water.
Israfil : He's loud like an airplane. He cries all night if he's woken up. I only been here a few days and only heard him shut up for one.
Bircriu : Very evil little boy! He likes to get into things and break things or take things that aren't his. I've been keeping an eye on him. 15 times now he tried to steal you, Journal.
Sometimes though, he doesn't know I'm watching. Like the time he tipped the vase over on the table and blamed it on Edward and Hugo running by - the two weren't even in the room at the time and yet were punished for it.
Sayid : I never heard him speak yet. I thought, because he was so quiet, that he wouldn't like people. But I was wrong. I watch him cuddle with Ballentine on the couch when we all watch a movie on the TV or something.
He tried cuddling with me once, but I pushed him away. Though it wasn't before he managed to tug out a lock of my hair. I was told he did that to everyone at some point, but I don't understand why he needs the hair.
I asked him why once, and he just smiled and shrugged at me before tapping me on the nose with his long gross finger. It's freaky.

So that's the 'New Family' Journal... What do you think about them? I guess their not so bad. But I'll let you know if something goes wrong...

"A Walk With The Boys."

Hiking in the woods sounded fun at the time! To be fully surrounded by nature like his heart cried out for. The smell of the pine, the gentle gusts of wind, the feel of the-
"Ow..." Waya winced for the hundredth time as yet another stick stabbed his toe through his sandals. OK... Hiking with sandals was NOT the brightest idea he ever had. Next time he'd for sure get a pair of boots for the outdoor activity. Thankfully he had been smart enough to leave behind his fur cloak, it was definitely too hot to lug that around.
"Let's stop for a minute..." The boy said, doing just as he requested. He placed a hand upon a close tree, using it for support as he lifted on foot to remove the twig.
Up ahead Hugo and Ed paused as well, Hugo crossing his arms in a pout. "Come on Waya! That's the bazillionth time you stopped! We're not even at the waterfall yet!" The young boy started to bounce on his feet, even he was traveling in sandals but seemed to have no problem. Waya was a tad annoyed at that fact.
"I know..." Waya said lightly as he threw the twig down. Taking in a deep breath it would be let out in a long exaggerated sigh as Waya once more followed behind his two brothers. They were headed to a waterfall that both Hugo and Ed had found in one of their previous hikes in the woods. They said it was huge, this grand ol' waterfall that Waya just had to see. Emphasis on the had, but Waya couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"Come on then!" Hugo shouted, and once Waya was in arms reach he grabbed the boy's arm and tugged him along. This prevented Waya from causing them to stop again, specially when the wolf boy started to complain about the rock in his sandal.
It was about another 15 minutes of walking before the boys came to the clearing. Waya expected as much as he saw. There was no grand waterfall that spilled into a lake. It was more of a dripping stream that fell into a puddle. But he couldn't help but smile as he watched his two brothers get excited over pretty much nothing.
Use your imagination... He told himself as he took another deep breath and followed the boys at a much slower pace than running to the water.
"Look Waya, look!" Ed said as he laughed happily, running over with Hugo to the small pond. Looking down at the water he'd point a finger and smile, over his shoulder at Waya. "Come look! There's tadpoles! There will be little froggies hopping around soon." Ed laughed, having a habit of chasing frogs in the back yard. He and Hugo had a contest once to see who could catch the most. Thanks to his better cat like reflexes, Ed had won.
Coming up besides Hugo, Waya leaned forward to stare down into the water with the other two boys. Waya watched the tadpoles for a few moments before he turned his eyes to their reflections in the water. His brothers were so animated in their own ways. He smiled fondly as he found himself wandering off in thought.
"Hey!" Hugo shouted as he looked up, bringing Waya back from his thoughts. "Let's go sit down and rest." Hugo said with a bright smile. "There's a big rock right over there. We can eat the snacks Mommy gave us before we head back."
Ed nodded in agreement, "Last one to the rock is a rotten egg!" He shouted before he took off running. Waya was left standing dumbfounded. Who would want to be a rotten egg? Then it dawned on him as the boys were half way there already. He was going to be the rotten egg!
Quickly he ran, trying to catch up to them but it was no use. They had a good head start and laughed as Waya came walking up to the rock having given up half way.
"Rotten Egg! Rotten Egg!" They shouted, pointing at him and teasing him. Thankfully it was all taken in good humor and the boys settled down to munch on their snacks.
After awhile they got quiet. Waya began to watch the clouds drift lazily across the sky, Edward was fixated on a butterfly not too far from them, and Hugo... Well he was watching his two brothers.
"Look at you two!" Hugo shouted, scaring not only Waya and Ed but the butterfly as well. The two boys looked at their brother in shock, almost as if he were inside then looked at each other curiously. "Both have ears and tail." Hugo continued, then promptly grabbed both their tails to give a yank. "I don't got nones..."
The two boys winced as their tails were tugged, two sets of eyes narrowing at Hugo. What were they supposed to say to that? Ed was the first to speak with a small giggle. "Hugo why would you want ears and a tail? I like you how you are!"
Waya nodded in agreement, though the other boy seemed upset. Reaching up Hugo let out a small sob. "I just wanna be like my brothers..." The young boy cried, rubbing at his eyes with his hands as he didn't want to show the fact that he was crying. Boys weren't supposed to cry. Or at least that's what Jay had told Hugo the time he fell down and scraped his knee.
Drumming his finger on his knee in thought, Waya perked up a bit as he got an idea. "Stop crying Hugo... You want to be like us and you will. Wait here." He smiled, hopping down off the rock. "Don't go no where ok? Stay here and wait!" With that he took off into the woods.
He'd be gone for minutes, but he had to find everything he needed. Two large leaves, some vine, and a small branch.
Running back to the boys Waya smiled happily. "Ok Hugo, close your eyes!" He said as he panted, tossing the things down onto the rock as he climbed up after them.
Hugo did as told with a giggle, his eyes closing.
Waya then first wrapped the fine around Hugo's head, tying it off in the back. Seconds later the two large leaves were added on either side of Hugo's head. The ears! Using the rest of the vine he wrapped it around Hugo's waist and tied the small branch to it. He cleared off any extra leaves and branches save for just at the end on the way back to the rock. So it really did make the perfect tail.
"There... Now go look at yourself in the water." Waya said as he stepped away from Hugo.
Dashing to the waterfall once more, Hugo looked down at his reflection and giggled happily. "Waaai!" He turned and looked as if he were just given the best gift ever. "Just like you two!" How easily he was amused!
Edward and Waya were soon standing on either side of Hugo. They had to pick up the mess first! But now the three of them looked almost alike.. Ok so a leaf wasn't really an ear, but to Hugo with a huge imagination it was perfect.
"Let's go show Mommy!" Hugo shouted, and before Ed and Waya come protest, their wrists were grabbed and off the started on their journey back home.

DS shifted the bulky folder the was carrying just before it slipped out from under her arm. Normally she would have no problems with it. It was a pretty standard visit to Ballentine after all- just dropping off the accounts and required paperwork for the month. A half-hour visit at the longest, and it would only require that much time since she managed the information for so much. Ballie was a good friend, but moreover her biggest client. She only hoped it could remain that way for quite some time, and that the guest she had brought along wouldn't sour the deal.
The "guest" squirmed uncomfortably, pinned between the folder and his guardian's chest. He would have much rather stayed at home, but his babysitters were out shopping. Even better, he would have preferred staying home alone, but he knew that wasn't going to happen after the last time, when he took the opportunity to explore. Shoving the papers out of his face, Karan twisted into a slightly more comfortable position.
"I'm sorry, but I needed to drop these off soon. Besides, it shouldn't take long," DS assured as she knocked at the door with her elbow.

Waya's ears perked up at the sound of a knock on the door. The boy was sitting on the living room couch, animal planet playing on the TV. It wasn't his favorite wolf special but Ballentine said the next time it came on he could tape it.
Hearing footsteps head to the door, Waya's golden eyes fell onto Ballentine. His curiosity got the best of him. Getting up from the couch, his feet silently carried him to the living room doorway where one could get a peek at the front door easily.
Pulling open the door, Ballentine gave a large smile at the woman that stood before her. "DS! So good to see you. And what's this you've brought?" Giving a small chuckle she'd lean over slightly to get a good look at Karan.
"I am so not babysitting if that's what you're here for." She said as her arms crossed over her chest. "Though for the right price I think Jay will."

Grinning back openly, DS shook her head. "Nope, nothing of the sort. Though I'll have to keep that offer in mind. But I just wanted to bring by the papers for this month, and Eri and Sirry went out, so Karan and I were a bit stuck. Mind if I- we- come in?"
Karan's eyes took in the new surroundings leisurely. So far there wasn't anything terribly interesting to look at, but at least it was better than having papers shoved in his face. And this was somewhere else, so they might have something fun if he managed to get down.
"Dahn," he insisted, struggling in DS's firm hold."

Ballentine nodded. "Of 'course." Stepping aside she'd hold the door open for her friend. "You want me to grab the folder before it drops?"
Waya's ears pressed against his head as his eyes narrowed. Who were these two? Obviously Ballentine knew the woman. Sniffing a bit at the air he'd give a little snort before turning his back on the door. Whatever... Had nothing to do with him.
Seeing movement in the corner of her eyes Ballentine smiled. "Ah! Waya! Would you come here for a moment?"
Waya visibly flinched when he heard his name. With a roll of his eyes, he turned on the ball of his foot and looked back at Ballentine. Timidly he'd walk over as he regarded DS for a moment.
Ballentine smiled once again. "DS, this is the newest addition to the family. Waya. He'll be staying with us from now on."

"Nice to meet you, Waya- wait a moment." DS blinked and studied the boy. He certainly looked familiar... "Not Waya the Legend?"
It didn't take much for Karan to forget about wanting to go down. This was definitely better. But who was it? It looked fluffy, like Prana, but a different kind of fluffy. Come to think of it, he'd seen this fluff before. But he still couldn't remember who it was. Curious, he reached out a hand, hoping to get a feel of the soft fur.

She nodded. "The one and only." Gently she reached out to pet Waya's hair. "He's only been here a few days but he's adjusting well. And who's the little bundle in your arms?" She asked as she finally reached out and took the folder from DS before it would drop.
"Why don't we let the boys go watch TV in the living room while you and I go talk business."
Waya narrowed his eyes a bit as Ballentine pet his hair, taking a step away. He was still a bit wary of Ballie. Though having moved away it put him in perfect grabbing distance for Karan, Waya not even realizing it.

So she wasn't completely off. That made a nice change. "Could you Ballie? And it's nice to meet you Waya. I thought I had seen you around the Legends headquarters before... speaking of which, this is Karan. He's been with me since around Christmas."
Perfect! Stretching another inch, Karan planted one hand on Waya's back. Oooh, that felt nice! A lot like Prana, but still different. He giggled, running his fingers through the fur and up towards Waya's ears. Those looked a little like Keita's. Maybe he'd like to have them petted too!

"Sorry DS you're not going insane just yet." She laughed, looking at Waya. "Will you take Karan into the living room with you? I'll bring you some snacks in a bit."
Waya had jumped a bit when he felt a hand on his back, ear turning towards Karan before both turned in Ballentine's direction. "I suppose..." He muttered, looking over his shoulder at Karan.

"Sometimes I wish I would, so I could just get it over with," DS mumured jokingly, handing Karan over. "Lemme help with the snacks Ballie, I could use the break."
Now he couldn't reach the fuzzy ears anymore. That was annoying, but there were other things to look at, like his funny hair. But he wasn't going to try to touch that, since hair pulling felt bad. And he was bored again.
"Dahn," he said again, this time following it with a question. "Pway?"
