...Ok, this was getting to be awfully cruel. Here she was, nuzzling and snuggling against him, and he couldn't even go in for a little nipping! Being a gentleman (his definition, of course) was sometimes a very tough thing, and now was one of those times. If he didn't know better, he'd think that she was playing him...
Of course, he technically didn't know better. So...
No. For now, he'd play it casual.
Raising his wing, he draped it over the golden mare's body as she leaned against him, smiling a bit at her comment. "Chica, I can honestly tell you that I have yet to have any mare act too boldly against me; this is perfectly permissable. Feel free to lean all you want." Or anything else she wanted, for that matter

Her eyes looked to the wing draped over her. The beautiful wing that could carry him great distances if need be. She offered up a friendly smile. She was almost positive, being the naive mare she was, that his intent was all brotherly. Even if her intent was making it to sisterly, but not completely there yet, she had never had a stallion 'flirt' with her. Tai had just happened, no flirting involved. She didnt know what 'flirting' was, which was why she unknowingly was indeed playing him.
Is it considered playing if you are just a blissful naive mare? These thoughts didnt even enter her mind, but it might cause one to wonder. "Dear me. I do think I like your word, Chica. What does that mean if I may ask?"

Maintaining his rather casual stance, Guilian quirked a brow at Esper's question before cracking a grin. "Chica? It means girly, Chica; Don't ask me where I picked it up from, but it seems to have become a habit that I'm incapable of shaking." And that was basically how it was; the origins and meanings of chica were perhaps his most frequently inquired after habit, so he'd gotten used to replying easily.
But anyway, enough about him. Time to cut to the chase "So, will me beating up the guys I don't like be cutting in on anyone else's territory, Chica? Like, say, a boyfriend or mate who's used to handling that job?"

She smiled. She had learned a new word, and a rather spiffy one at that. She gave a lopsided grin, and gave a tinge of a nod. "I like the word."
At the mention of mate, she sobered. Her ever so lovely Tai? He didnt beat anyone up for her, in fact, she would have to say, he saw everyones good side. Which wasnt the best for both mates to be Naive. "Well, yes and no. I mean. I have a mate, but he wouldnt beat anyone up. I havent seen him in months..He's kinda,..the goody goody like me. But I daresay I hope you never have to beat anyone up.

Damnit all, his earlier hunch had turned out to be correct after all. But at least this way he knew for sure that he was playing with fire...which was something that he didn't believe in doing. Single ladies were more than fair game, but far be it for him to elbow in on another guy's girl.
So, with a heavy feeling of regret, he lefted up his wing and folded it with it's mate over his back, then spread both of them in a stretch so that she wouldn't notice that anything was amiss or read anything into his actions. "Well, I'm glad I'm not taking up anyone's job, Chica; hopefully your mate won't mind me taking over as the muscle." Obviously he wouldn't if he hadn't been around, but one could never be too sure.

She gave a sigh. Tai had been MIA for so long, she wasnt sure if he meant to still breed with her or not. She wasnt sure if he had changed his mind about a mate, and the thought hurt. A few tears stolled down her golden velvet cheeks. She shook her head, trying to mask he voice to sound happy, or content. "Im sure wont mind.." *somewhat wishes Esper was single just once so she could breed with Gulian and I could have red and gold babehs...lol))

Looking down at the suddenly choked sounding Esper, Guilian was just in time to catch the stray tears rolling down her cheeks. Obviously he'd struck a nerve with his statement; that just wouldn't do, of course!
"Now now, Chica, there's no need to get emotional." Lowering a wing, he gently wiped away the tears with the blackened tips. He wasn't specifically sure WHY she was teary, but he had a distinct hunch it was connected to her absent mate. Ah, if only he was the right type he'd have taken steps to 'console' the mare, but noooo; he had to be noble. "It'll get better, Chica; trust me."

Esperanza felt the soft red black tipped feathered wing hit her cheek, and it was a soothing feeling. She offered a saddened smile. She hated to get sad in front of others. They always looked at her as if she had a second head or an extra hoof. "I am sorry.. Forgive me for my display of emotion.." She said honestly, though not able to help the hurt in her heart.
(Sue me! lol. They'd be pretteh ninja lmao)

((Yeah, yeah XD))
"Emotion is a permissable thing, Chica; it proves that you have a heart. But being depressed too much is unhealthy. So why don't you just tell Guilian what it is that is making you so unhappy?" Raising a brow, Guilian gracefully flopped down into the grass, patting the ground next to him with a wing. "It might make you feel better." And it would be in his role of 'brother', right?

Esper layed her golden body down, beside his, looking down at the green grass beneath her. Did he really want to know? It was long. Maybe somewhat of a novel-length.. She decided to tell him, because she had grown to trust this stallion.. Even if it had been a fast friendship. "I dont ever see Tai. It's almost like he is non-existant.. Im hoping he isnt rethinking his vows.. Im praying he didnt find someone else, but my heart, thinks that he has.."

Tai must be the mate; Guilian found himself growing indignant at this faceless stallion, he who had the heart, soul, and body of this gorgeous creature and yet neglected her for so long that she was falling into a state of depression. Now, if he himself had been so fortunate...
But no, that wasn't the case. Focus, Guilian, and remember what it was that you were doing. "The heart knows things, Chica, but it's also true that sometimes, absence causes us to imagine things that don't exist. Why is it that you two never see each other?" Might as well get to the meat of the matter..

The palomino mare gave a gallic shrug, not too sure why. Maybe it was because he never was home when she went to look for him.. Or he was never around when she needed him, or that he only appeared when he wanted to. He was like a eagle, he could hide until he wanted to be seen. "Im not sure. But you'll have to forgive me for rambling. I did bring the conversation down sadly. Do you have another? A mare who is so deserving of you?"

Though he was doing his best to remain detached and suitably concerned, Guilian couldn't help the tiny trace of a smug smile that crossed his face as she queried him about romantic attachements of his own. Technically he didn't have such a thing...he did have several ladies he was VERY fond of and that were fond of him, but he wasn't sure if that was quite what she meant. Better to play it safe.
"Basically it's just me. I roam around, but that's not very conductive to long-term attachements. And it's not a bother at all for you to talk of what is troubling you; that's what I'm here for, right?"

She offered him a smile. She couldnt help it, he made her feel better about things that would have annoyed other Soquili's to hear about. Even her friend Micah got annoyed at her with such talk. She looked to the ground. So he wasnt attached? That was sad, a world without love was no world at all. "Sometimes attachments are good."

Indeed attachments were pleasant; far be it for him to deny the importance of relationships! "Oh, I agree, Chica; relationships are certainly valueable. I just haven't found any one particular mare that is meant for me, I suppose." That seemed like the best way to put it, and it was technically true; he liked many mares, but none quite enough to abandon the others!
Still, this wasn't about him. "And obviously, you saw something in your Tai that made you want to attach to him...you shouldn't count that out yet. He must have some sort of reason."
