I'd also suggest a worker ant. Nothing creepier than a giant bug.
However, you'd need to go with transgender on that one. Most ants are female.

So Far I like what you have for your character, interesting job choice and personality. where he does seem to have bit of a 'hard' exterior to himself you could use that to decide what animal serum you would like. You could always browse though the Idea Dump to see what interesting creatures others have thought of. maybe a Coconut crab?
The only thing that I would be critical of is the lottery idea. While it would be ironic that Bobby would win all that money and then end up o the island where his money would then be worthless, winning millions of dollars would draw alot of attention and make it harder for Feral Labs to grab him. However, one thing you could do is have bobby win a much smaller lottery, such as maybe a winning scratch ticket. maybe between 5,000-20,000 dollars. not enough to maybe quit his job or get alot of media attention, but enough for him to take a few weeks vacation, and then ends up on the island.

Okay first you need to add three zeros here
-----They had this giant Christmas lottery scratchcard going around the state, 25 chances at $25,000, the odds were unbelievably on the player's side for this one. Yet no one had yet found a winning ticket. -----
Also you need to put in what kind of games he enjoys in likes. Video games or bored games, or D&D
Also in personality add allot...maybe make him into the creepy geeky guy who has the pervert stalker look who becomes a cuddelly animal all the girsl want to take home! wink
