I can't speak another language fluently enough to write 50k in it that fast. I could probably manage it in French, if I wanted to spend a year writing it rather than 30 days, and if I wanted it to be twice as bad as it would be in English.
I think you should write in whatever language you're more comfortable with, unless you have a pressing reason for writing in a different one.

You just write with whatever language you're comfortable with. Me? I write in English because I don't know anything else fluently. whee

I'll be writing in English since I don't know any other language fluently enough. But since my story takes place on a different planet and is fantasy, I may make up words and such. Since I know a little German and a little Japanese, the words might have those two languages' influence.

well, I'm writing mine in English this year (because I am American and I speak English), but next year I'm going to write it in Spanish. Just as a challenge. And I'm going to use spanish dictionary BOOKS, not internet resources, so it's not cheating too bad...
oh, and I'd say you should go with your native tongue...unless you're challenging yourself even more, because let's face it, you speak best in your native tongue (whatever tongue you grew up with).
it'd be cool to write it in another language.
