His quill style is plenty different. Pah, people would probably be complaining about it even more if they had gone even more outlandish with it.
Unless you're actually sore about the fact that he's a hedgehog. Like his species and appearance actually matter to whether he'll be a good character or not. Nor do I get how it would make him pointless. Obviously he's not pointless because they've given him one of the leading roles.

i refuse to pass any solid judgement on silver until i get to play the game and see his story. so far all i've seen are rumours, bits of story and a few short trailers.. not quite enough for a full picture yet!
i still think he looks like a megaman character. geminiman?

His quill style reminds me more of Super Sayian Trunks from DBZ. Plus, there is an obvious similar story line between the two.
