Dark Solais
If any of you followed the Infinity Crisis / Civil War (DC and Marvel are both doing the same basic thing, bringing many series together to tie timelines firmly in place) series then the assumption that even those old standard heroes are for kids even goes away, murder, blood, and political intrigue, these are some of my favourite things, hehe.
Icon Comics is doing probably one of my favourite comics to date, The Walking Dead, the whole series is great, and I'm steadily buying the trade paperbacks. (G4 TV got me into the series about a week ago) Definately NOT for kids, though you have my permission to show your little brother the *axe to the face* scenes just to see their reactions heh.
And then of course I'm a huge Green Lantern fanboy, which is explainable, he (the rest of the corps too) rawks.

I am not following Infinity Crisis but I am following Civil War, currently I am not buying any DC Comics, infact I only own a couple and they are from sub-sections of DC, like Wildstorm Productions.
I am following Civil War reg and Civil War X-Men, nothing else though, and I am not saying all old superheroes arent full of adultish things, or teen like things.. I wouldnt suggest some Iron Man comic books to kids, like the one with the crazy nazi who then kills the gothic girl in the back road town, and when Tony Stark gets beat to a bloody pulp and is dieing. =P which you know, has only happened a million times.
Ive heard about The Walking Dead and see it in the shop all the time, never actually picked it up because my Zombie comic book quota is full =P I am collecting Zombie, Shaun of the Dead, Night of the Dead, and Land of the Dead comic books from past and present.
Green Lantern is pretty awesome, I love the outfits they wear.
@Rag Doll: The Sandman rules! Neil Gaiman rules!!! =P did you get the new Absolute Sandman special edition comic, its only 50 cents and its thicker than most comics, Id guess 45 pages havent counted yet though. Yeah, Neil Gaiman is a great writer, I first got into him from watching the movie he produced "MirrorMask", which is an awesome movie.. and I am not just saying that cause the lead actress is very cute but also because of its originality and great storytelling, I think its better and more brilliant than Cinderella. ^^ I further got into him from his issue on Spawn, now I am collecting his Eternals comic from Marvel and am working on buying all the Sandman trade paperbacks.

Yeah well comics can get boring after a while, I dont suggest sticking with the same old comic forever, move on as you grow out of your state of being and move into more mature, or more original comics.. if a comic isnt bringing you joy then ditch it and find another, if NO comics give you joy then either the industry is doing something wrong or you really dont like comic books anymore.
