Physics is cool, I guess. Some parts, at least, I found really interesting. Others... not as much. But those were random, depending entirely on the subject at hand. If you liked the first whole month of physics, it'll probably be all right.

Physics is interesting, but it's truly the worst possible science - to me at least. Maybe I have a bad prof. In any case I like chem and bio better.
I've taken high school physics, and am now doing first year university physics. Our textbook is 5cm thick and a great means of exercise if you want to carry that thing around with you.

OoOoOooOh! I'm taking physics too. I'm going to become an engineer of some sort.

Always remember those peoples' laws. Like velocity=
m1v1 + m2v2 = m1v3 + m2v4
Mass1 x Velocity 1 + Mass 2 x Velocity 2 = Mass 1 x Velocity 3 + Mass 2 x velocity 4.
Isn't that a part of physics?

Isn't that a part of physics? That's: m1v1i + m2v2i = m1v1f + m2v2f m1 = mass 1 m2 = mass 2 v1i = initial velocity of mass 1 v1f = final velocity of mass 1 v2i = initial velocity of mass 2 v2f = final velocity of mass 2 Conservation of momentum =) Momentum is always conserved!

ProphetSarcomeer Hi all... im taking a physics class.. and so far we have covered a lot about light, ray and wave optics, lenses and mirrors, and other fun stuff like double slit experiments and spherical abberations. so, im wondering if im being mislead by the class... is the rest of physics as fun? or is it boring and difficult... what does everyone here like about physics? what should i be looking forward to? any key points i should remember for the future? Depends upon what you think of physics. Say this question, a ball is thrown upwards spinning 4 rad/s. It spins a total of 13 times. How high did the ball go, what was v_0. (v_0 means v initial. the _ mean subscript). Or, how about the osculations of pendulums + osculations of springs + colisions + instanteneous accelation + centripical force (it was one big, long question).

The most important intro physics law....
Are your ready for this....
Think you can handle this....
It is....
E=E
Yep, energy = energy. I have solved so many problems using this. More important than F=ma.

I often get confused about which powers have which units. Like joules, watts and so on.

I don't think you mean physics but school in general as fun or boring.

The really fun stuff is when you get into radiation and radioactive decay. But thats bordering on chemistry, which I'm much better at.

Like halflife =) All the rate laws and calculations are heart =) > Prophet: Right now we're doing mechanics in class, and mechanics is.... not fun. But you kind of have to know how to do that, because it's basic stuff. Finding forces and energy is mostly math, which I'm not good at.... but if you do like math, you'll probably enjoy it.

Personally, phsyics was my least favorite class last year when I took it with precal being a close second. I made the mistake of taking honors phsyics though, and my teacher was like jkjakdjqld. Like, you could seriously get everything on a lab right and still only make an 80. We had this completely lame project where we were required to make a bridge entirerly out of xerox paper and it had to hold at least 10 pounds, and if it held that much you only got a 70.
However, eventually we did make a guitar, which ended up being a lot of fun. I still have mine and it's all Wizard of Oz decorated and stuff.
Basically, I really loathed physics. I like chem a whole heck of a lot better.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting jipped in my physics class, it's sooooooo easy, like, even when she introduces trig into the fold it's easy as hell for me, I'm not going to complain about the free knowledge and A to boot.
I do have to explain everything to the immediate people surrounding me though, including an exchange student, they at least say thank you though, so I guess... meh.
I enjoy our subjects though, even if we are going to slowly for my tastes, what we do cover I have fun with.

Physics sounds fun but hard from what my friends have told me about it. I'm going to take it next year when I actually can because ofthe age/actually taking calculus thing. All I know is that it's very valuable to know.
