"Are you? I've never seen you around. I thought Chomo protected him? He hunted for him and shared his den when I visited there. Although he has left now.... I guess someone else must take up the role." Mchele nodded, not thinking Majinuni felt anything for the Pride's king other than duty and loyalty.

But it looked as though the other had started to believe him? "Surely one little lion like me isn't too much?" He said with a hopeful smile. "And I guess he hasn't because... well, because some things are personal. And some things don't need to be advised on, you just know them to be true." It was a lame excuse and only partially true. After all, Mchele could guess that he hadn't been mentioned to his advisor because his advisor wouldn't approve of them together? Because even for himself in his own home this relationship was secretive.

"Look, I'm sure you are only acting out of concern for your king. You're very loyal to face up to a lion alone. I promise I mean Ausha and the pride no harm."

"I'm quite clever when it comes to not being seen..." He chuckled. "And I was here long before Chomo, so it made no difference to me when he left..." Majinuni had never really bothered with Chomo. He was a quiet one, but he always knew that he didn't feel 'that' way about Ausha, so he was never worried by his presence. "My role has always been my own..."

The cheetah sneered a little as the lion went on, not used to being on the recieving end of confusing riddles. "Whatever do you mean by personal?" It was only after Majinuni had said that that something dreadful suddenly dawned on him, causing his eyes to almost glaze over. Ausha had never told him about Tuzwa either, and look how things had turned out then. He had long forgiven Ausha for this though, and was positive that the love of his life meant what he said when he had told him that he never meant to hurt him.

Majinuni remained in a sort of trance state for a few moments, before he finally blinked himself back to reality. He glared at Mchele as if he could see right through him, as if he wasn't even there. "Ausha isn't just my King...he's my friend...he's my..." He trailed off, his yellow-green orbs dancing all over the place. His mind struggled to comprehend exactly all that was being said, and almost fought against putting the pieces together.

Mchele frowned slightly, the way the cheetah spoke... it was creepy. Like he had no care for Ausha's other friend? Or because of the seriousness that he took up his role of advisor, protector and guard. And interrogator, thought Mchele sourly.

"And by personal I mean personal. Just between us, thank you very much. It's none of your business." He retorted to the staring cat. "Just because you're his friend, doesn't mean he or I have to tell you everything. You wouldn't understand it anyway." There are some things closer than friends.

But he paused when Maji trailed off. The other feline seemed suddenly in doubt, his eyes looking for something, not focusing on the lion before him. Mchele steped up a pace closer, looking at him with a tilted head. "He's your what?" He pushed.

"He's my...everything..." He finally managed to get out the words, although they were barely audiable. It was no news to him that Ausha was his very reason for living, but this was the first time he had ever told anyone. He wasn't even sure if Ausha knew to what extent he felt about him.

So why did he find himself saying this to a total stranger? It was at that point that Majinuni went back to what Mchele had said just a few moments before. "WHAT wouldn't I understand?" His tone of voice had darkened considerably, as he stared at the golden male, trying desperatly to figure him out.

As the faint whisper reached Mchele's ears his face dropped. His everything? Including.... friend, leader, love and well, everything. The cheetah could only mean the same sort of attraction that Mchele himself felt.

He took a step back, shaking his head. Never had he thought he'd have any competition, at least from another male. There had been that brief moment when Ausha had told him about the lioness he'd fathered an heir with, but that was all explained and understood now.

But this! This sounded much more serious. This feline lived with the pale lion, acted as his advisor and protector, if what he said were true. Mchele was.... well, like he was now, it seemed he was only a visitor in Ausha's life... although a much more personal one.

"No.. no you can't be..." He repeated, shaking his head once more.

Majinuni was more than a little puzzled by Mchele's reaction to what he said. "What's wrong with you?" He hissed, lowering his head so that his back arched, revealing the visible outline of his spine underneath his skin. He would've found such a question funny, if he had been in a laughing mood. After all, he was the one who was always seen as having something wrong with him. What could the golden male be hiding?

Nothing that's any wronger than anyone else in love. A little different perhaps, but the feeling couldn't be wrong. Staring at the scrawny feline he couldn't anything similar bewtween them, except for their apparent feelings for a certain lion. Mchele flicked his tail. "Nothing's wrong with me."

"But tell me.... you and Ausha? You're not.... together are you?" His voice grew unsteady, unsure if he wanted an answer. "I mean, you advise him, guard him.... but is that all?"

That was the last question Majinuni wanted to hear, as the answer hurt him enough already, without having to say it outloud. Slowly, after a long pause, he shook his head. "He's far too good for me..."

It was amazing that after all that had happened, the slightly warped cheetah still found himself madly in love with Ausha. And Ausha loved him back, he was sure of it, but it wasn't the same. Majinuni still had hope though, for now. "You wouldn't understand..."

(( rofl The penny will drop soon I swear... xp maybe you should just have Mchele come out and tell him, or we could be here forever... xd *Never realised that Majinuni was oblivious at times* ))

Mchele's shoulders sagged with a sigh of relief and he allowed himself a small smile. Things weren't as he suspected, although from Maji's comment it seemed like this cheetah wished they would be.

"Ausha is... he is one of the few I feel closest to. No, he is the closest. Just seeing him is enough to lift my spirits." The Pridelander hadn't intended to confess his emotions before but there was little point not to now. "That is why I am so intent on passing you. Why won't you let me go see someone I care for? I am no threat!"

"Unless you disapprove..." His eyes narrowed slightly. Mchele hated to fight unless he really needed to. But his sudden confession had flared his emotions and increased his determination. After all this cheetah had done to waylay him and put him off coming to visit, his disapproval of their relationship would be the last straw.

Majinuni's eyes flickered darkly as Mchele spoke of Ausha, but he remained silent. How could this total stranger be so close to Ausha without him knowing? Why would Ausha not tell him about their relationship? Was it really all that Mchele said it was? There was just too many questions in the cheetah's head, and once again he was flung into doubt, just as he was when Tuzwa had revealed everything to him.

"No...threat?" Majinuni let out a brief chuckle, which soon morphed into a strange kind of sob. "Why won't any of you let us be together?!" He cried out as he struggled to keep himself upright. "Everyone's against me...everyone..." There was no way he would allow himself to fall into another pit of despair, not again, not after what he had ended up doing last time. There was only one thing he could do to ensure that he wouldn't hurt another in his desperate insanity.

He ran. With tears burning in his eyes, he forced himself forwards, past Mchele and towards the Graveyard border. He couldn't have stopped then even if he tried. For the first time in his entire life, he found himself on the other side of the border. Still there was no stopping him.

Almost blinded by tears and the hurt Mchele's revelation had caused, he just kept running until he eventually collapsed, completely unaware of where he was. The Graveyard was no longer in site, and Pride Rock was just a speck in the distance. Sobbing, Majinuni lay in the dirt and dust, curled up into a pitiful ball with his front paws wrapped round his head. Again, the desperatly insane cheetah found himself at death's door. Only this time, it didn't look as if anyone would bother to save him.

(( ;o; I guess we should end it here then, with one more post from you lyff... *Snugs Maji and Mchele* ))

For a moment that seemed to last far longer than it really did, Mchele stared stubbornly at Majinuni and the cheetah stared darkly back. Mchele wasn't sure what he was going to do, he couldn't move. But he didn't dare back down. He wouldn't, not this time.

As the other spoke, he tensed, but it quickly turned into something he did not expect. The hard, feral feline all but broke down before him. His sneer turning into a sob and his previously smirking face filling with tears and dispair. The Pridelander had no idea of Maji's previous 'incident' after such an emotional blow and didn't realise he was in any danger.

But had he known it wouldn't have had time to cross his mind as Majinuni ran off. "Wait!" Was all that sprang from his mouth as he was pushed past. He turned, ears alert and eyes watching in shock as the figure got smaller and smaller in the distance.

He needed to talk to Ausha. Things needed to be explained... but it looked like the one who needed to most explaining to was gone.

(( Awww.... Maji's hopes have been dashed! I don't know exactly what you have planned for him now but if you ever want to plot/rp with Mchele more in the future I'm up for it! ))
