Haven923 (((I already sent my profile yesterday so, if you don't mind, I'm just going to jump in somewhere....))) Jason gidied his white horse along the worn and rough path. He was in a light wood, the sun shining down through the branches every so often. IT was a peaceful place, but, as he knew, would eventually be turned chaotic. It was a strategic location, a major source of travel and trade. Many a battle would be fought here, he thought. He sent a guick prayer for safety to God and continued on his way, his shield glistening in the sun from teh side of his horse. His armor and gear clinking in a random cadence and the trotting of the horse where the only noises aside from nature that were audible.... ((Actually, I did state in the "Character Profiles" section that I need to respond to your PM before you begin posting. Please make sure you understand the rules of the RP. You can keep posting, though, because I was going to accept your profile anyway. 3nodding ))

The next morning, Laurence pounded through the forest on his mare. He had long since given up trying to convince himself he wasn't looking for the place where his dream had happened; now it was simply a matter of finding it. What are you expecting to find, dear Laurence? he asked himself with a smirk. Certainly there would be no maiden, as the incident was merely a dream. Yet he felt a certain calling in the dream, though he couldn't understand what it was. Maybe finding the spot would help him find some answers.
The quest, however, was dangerous. If he was correct, the spot was on the edge of the forest near the Maisone kingdom. He was unsure if Maisone knights took prisoners or killed on the spot; either way, he supposed it would mean a lot of pain for him if he were found.
The sound of another horse and the clinking of armor interrupted his thoughts, and he drew his horse to a stop, still close to Jahrr's edge of the forest. A spy, perhaps? Laurence drew his sword. "Show yourself!" he demanded.

Ame stood in a small clearing, practicing archery. "At least here, no one will ridicule me..." she mumbled to herself. "And the animals come to watch. She had always had a special bond with animals, since most humans didn't like her or scorned her. She nocked an arrow to her string, aiming for the dead tree in front of her. She pulled the drawstring back, and closed her eyes. Focus... she thought, focus Her eyes snapped open, and she let the arrow fly. With an audible THUNK, it hit the tree dead on. She continued this for a while, when she heard Laurence's yell. Sighing, she ignored it, and continued to practice, grabbing extra arrows from her saddle. Her coal-black horse, a mare named Yami, was picketed nearby.

Scarlet had been in the kitchen all day long, today there seemed to be an overabundance of dishes to be done. Finally finished, however, Scarlet wiped her hands on her apron, and retreated from the kitchen silently. She had taken a small pice of bread and sat on the ground to eat it. When she had finished, undisturbed, she walked around the castle. Upon entering the rooms of the Masiones Scarlet checked the small fireplaces and made sure the coals were still burning. She remembered playing here as a child, but now it was her home, and her job. She left the rooms and continued to check on the order of other minial things as she hummed a tune lightly to herself.

((Okay, just so we get everybody in the same time zone, we're going to say it's the morning after Laurence's dream, the twins' adventure, and Scarlet's intro post. Everyone else is fine where they are. Is that cool with everyone?))
Merewyn wandered into the kitchen early the next morning, checking for her parents before she opened the heavy doors. The king and queen didn't approve of her visiting servants as much as she did, but they never expressly forbade it, so technically she wasn't disobeying them. Still, she decided not to allow them to see it often lest they decided to start forbidding it.
"Scarlet?" she called softly, listening for the familiar sound of her friend's humming.
Laurence lowered his sword slightly as he heard arrows whistling through the air in the other direction. An ambush, he assumed grimly. So the fighting had begun. Sheathing his sword, he turned to leave the forest. He needed to warn his king.
"Sir Laurence." King Brighton smiled warmly as the knight bowed into the room. "My servants say you have news for me?"
"Your Majesty," he started, bending one knee. "I heard noises in the forest, and I fear the kingdom of Maisone is attacking."
The smile quickly disappeared from the old king's face. "Find ten other knights to go with you. Search the forest and come back with a report."
"Yes, Majesty," Laurence agreed. He bowed, then quickly went to round up the others. As he was putting on his armor, his mind flashed to Ame, the dame. He did not agree with the idea of a woman as a knight, but felt a responsibility to be kind to her. She was so often left out of things, and he thought she might enjoy coming with them on this particular quest. If he could find her, she would be the first to join his team.

Ame walked over and yanked her arrows out of the tree, and began practice all over again, speaking aloud to what seemed like nothing, but she was actually talking to the animals. They were everywhere around her, and she knew they listened. She paused, recalling what had happened earlier that morning. She had once again gotten scorned by a young court lady. She scowled. "I swear..." she said, looking at her horse, "If I wasn't supposed to be polite, and if it weren't the completely morally wrong thing to do, I would have pounded that lady's face in..." Her horse whinnied. She giggled, then continued her practice.

Scarlet had wandered her way back to the kitchen, and was piddling around, she wasn't really doing anything, but she looked busy. This was a great ability for when she needed a break. "Scarlet?" she heard the famliar call. Scarlet walked over to the general area from which she had heard Merewyn's voice "Yes?" She called back, just as softly.

Azalia, Merewyn and Ismeine's servant, bustled about the twins' bedrooms, sweeping the floors, making the beds, checking the fires, and generally straightening up. Once she was done, she decided to find one of the princesses and see if there was anything that they needed to be done. Knowing Ismeine, she was probably outside, so she decided she would look for Merewyn.
((Do they share a room, or do each have their own room? I wasn't sure.))

((Hmm. We'll say they have separate rooms.))
Merewyn smiled warmly at Scarlet. "Good morning," she greeted her. "May I help with breakfast?" She looked around before adding the last part. One could never be too careful; if any other servant were in the room, rumors of her helping in the kitchen would spread like wildfire, and the king and queen would be none too happy. Their daughters were expected to be working on an embroidery project which Azalia, their servant, was overseeing.
Ismeine sighed as she strolled through the gardens with her current "suitor", Prince Aureo de Gratelle. Honestly, this man is insufferable, she grumbled to herself as he droned on about his father's wealth. Wistfully, she looked towards the castle wall. How she longed to slip out and return to her forest.
Prince Aureo had paused and was looking at her. Reluctantly, she drew her mind off the forest and back to the present. "Do you not think so?" he was asking her expectantly.
"Why... why yes, of course," she replied, and he smiled and launched into another speech.
Laurence sighed as he mounted his horse. Ame had been nowhere to be found. Quickly, he led the men through the forest to the place where he had heard noises. He sent five men in the direction of the first sound and went with the other five to where he had heard the arrows.
"Ah! It is only the dame!" one of the men yelled, aggrivated, and the others grumbled in agreement.
"Would you have preferred it be a score of Maisone knights?" Laurence snapped at them. "Come, Ame," he said gently to the woman. "There have been strange noises in this forest this morning; the king has sent us to investigate them. Will you not join us?" It was more of an order than a request. If they were to meet any Maisone knights, they would need all the firepower they could get.

Ame yanked the last arrow out of the tree. She was biting back a very sharp-tongued retort. Laurence was her superior, and she knew she needed to respect him. And he was usually nice to her. But why ask me? I'm a girl...and even if I weren't...I'm really young... Her face not showing any sign of self-doubt she was feeling, she said, "I would be honored, Sir Laurence." She knew the other men wouldn't like it, but right now, she really didn't care. She mounted her mare, and joined the group of men...as far away as she possibly could.

"Well, Merewyn, I'm sorry to say but you are up and about a buit late this morning, breakfast is already over." Scarlet said quietly. "Aren't you supposed to be embroidering?" Scarlet asked. She looked about the kitchen and ushered Merewyn out of the kitchen, she heard someone coming. "Come," Scarlet whispered "complain about something in your room I have to fix or clean." This was usual, an escape from prying eyes.

((Hey Jewlz, isn't your name Scarlet?))
Merewyn winced. She detested yelling at servants, especially the ones to whom she was close. Still, her acting skills were sharp from all the times she pretended to snub the servants.
"My room is much too drafty; it is impossible to get any embroidering done. You must build me a fire, and quickly --" Merewyn faltered when the king entered the room and she realized her complaint made no sense as it was the middle of spring. Luckily, her father was too preoccupied to notice.
"Where is your sister?" he demanded.
"I do not know, Father," she replied softly. "In the gardens, perhaps?"
The king sighed in aggrivation. "If you do see her, tell her she must not leave the castle gates. Her games are growing wearisome." With that, he was gone.
Merewyn turned back to Scarlet. "What do you suppose is the matter?" she wondered. Perhaps it had something to do with the war. Had the fighting begun at last?
After meeting up with the other five, Sir Laurence led the group through the forest until dusk. The only action seemed to be among his own men. Their snide remarks about the dame were growing quite tiresome, and if he had to tell them to hold their tongues once more, he felt he could have cut their tongues out for them. He was more than relieved to have to turn back.
"Come, it is growing dark," he called to his group as they wrapped up the search. "We shan't find a thing during the nighttime, including our way back." He was embarrassed to have to tell the king he was wrong, but at least there had been no conflict. Eleven bickering knights would have been of little to no help to him when facing fifty Maisone kngihts.

JesusFreak60148 ((Hey Jewlz, isn't your name Scarlet?)) :: Oh Poop it is... I'll fix it :: :: ok Fixed! :: Scarlet said a quick, obedient "Yes m'Lady" when the King enetered the room. After he left, Merewyns question was answered with her thoughts from Scarlet, "Maybe 'tis the war, has it begun so soon?" she asked. They were safe now, in Merewyn's room, and the room wasn't a tad drafty.

Ame followed along, attempting to ignore the comments made by the men. After one particularly bad one, however, she gripped her strung bow, and reached for an arrow. Her horse gave a small wicker, and she moved her hand back. "I know..." she whispered, "I shouldn't..."
