CraftyUnicorn Vague CraftyUnicorn Boy. Your avatar is male and I based my opinion solely on that. Seriously? On Gaia? Oy. Yeah, I'm superficial like that. Actually, I don't really put much thought into someone's gender, I guess. I've seen a few people put disclaimers in their sigs when their avatar is of an opposing sex. There isn't one in Q's, so I just figured he was a boy. Even if he isn't, he seems to want to be thought of as one. It's no skin off my nose if it turns out that he's really a girl. Not only that, but unless he decides to offer the information himself, it's not really any of my business. The fact that the question was asked didn't make you suspicious? Wait, you guys don't know each other? I thought you both knew Cats in person... Anyway, since it's a question of sex and not gender, I know she's a gurl because I read some of her journal when she first proclaimed her love for me in the Guild Council.

Vague The fact that the question was asked didn't make you suspicious? Wait, you guys don't know each other? I thought you both knew Cats in person... Anyway, since it's a question of sex and not gender, I know she's a gurl because I read some of her journal when she first proclaimed her love for me in the Guild Council. I know Cats in person, but I don't think he's ever actually met Q face to face. They just have a lot in common. Q seems to go through a lot to remain androgynous, and he/she yelled at me once for revealing his/her true gender... to Cats, actually. So, I try to be as vague (no pun or whatever intended) as possible when talking about her/his gender.

Interesting how this has turned out.
You know, in a few places, it states clearly what gender I am, but... I'm not going to give links to those. And. My Journal. Bah. It's basically vague on everything. More of a "Life sucks BWAHA! I'm going to kill myself now" than a "man, being a girl/guy sucks" thing. But meh.
Crafty- what do you mean about being too open? Like what?

You have a tendency to say everything in public. Nothing gets held back for PM's or what-not.

You needn't publicly embarrass someone every time they annoy you.

Astri This is why I hate Gaia. I am not going to have this argument. Astri, don't let this upset you so much. The difference between gender and sex is a very specific one. It's not a part of the English lexicon as much as it's a part of social science jargon. I prescribe to it, but I'm a social scientist. So are you, I presume. Chances are, however, that those two words will remain synonyms outside of our fields. We can't be angry because the boat of socio-cultural colloquium does not float our way. I don't see you as being of any gender, Q. You're just ungendered to me. As for sex, I think you're a girl. 'Cause, you're too overemotional and angsty to be a real guy. (For the inastute, that was a joke. I am, despite my appearance, a staunch feminist.) As for me, I am a male androgyne. See? Male is sex, androgyne is gender. Cool, huh?

JoVo, you make me feel better about the world sometimes.
And, yes, I am stressed-out and overwrought on a regular basis. It's bad for me. If I knew how, I would stop. One second, let me change that: if I knew how, outside of drugging myself silly, I would stop. I'm quite silly and drugged enough as it is, thank-you.

Pell Drugs are bad, mmmm'kay. Actually they can be quite good. Mmmm...drugs... What's an adrogyne? Is that like a berdache? Androgynous - adj.1. Having both female and male characteristics 2. (left out as it have nothing to do with JoVo's use) 3. Being neither distinctly masculine nor feminine, as in dress, appearance, or behavior

Pell So...you're saying he's got mantits? ...You obviously are having trouble understanding the term .__. It means it's suitable for either male or female, not too masculine, but not too feminine... Bah, whatever, someone else could probly give you a description you can understand.

I believe Q is more male, or at least leans towards a masculine disposition. Call it... Wait, there is no "men's intuition" because we just aren't intuitive enough for you are we?! Prejudice! ...I needed to get that out.
Honestly, my opinion is based on my personal impression, and the fact that Q referred to himself by a male pronoun in a post. Perhaps it was out of convenience, but I stand by the slightly heightened masculinity*.
*I've been reading a book, that claims that masculinity and femininity may not be two ends of a spectrum, but two very different spectrums by themselves. Androgynes would simply have both at a fairly equal degree, while everyone else is a mixture of the two.
