I dunno. I mean, what you all have been saying makes sense. It's just going too far in all of it.
But I'd still end up buying the game just to say I have it xd . I'd buy it for DS and annoy my friends in class with it.
If I get a DS for Christmas anyway. I'd love to play it on my GBA SP but unfortunately that blue beauty is obsolete.

Hm... I would buy it if it turns out to be a good game, not just on the fact that its Death Note. I've seen good and bad adaptations to anime when turned into a video game.
And I agree that stabbing people in the eye with a pen sounds like fun. XD

trying to track down somebody with a deathnote xD
That would be really cool, cause it would take knowladge, skill
and EVERYTHING would have to be set to a certain time XD

The kind of game I can think Death Note would be good for is something like an interactive DVD or Dating Game, which would both be a bad idea. D:

Kaitou Hiryuu I do, I've noticed that too. I think it's mostly because I think that they're milking the series for all it's worth. I think it was a brilliant manga, and though I haven't seen the movie, I'm all for that, too. But they're starting to take it too far. The facts in volume 13 could have been thought up after the series just so they could sell it for more, and video and card games are completely unnecessary, in my opinion. I think that the more stuff they start making for DN, the more chance it has of ruining the memory of the amazing original work and turning it instead into a moneymaking license. Again, it's my opinion, and no-one else has to think the same thing. You are completely right. Manga, anime, movies - SURE. I'm cool. I'll support them. Even volume 13 is okay with me. But the video and card games? I have NO IDEA how those two ideas would work. For example, what would a video-game ad be like? "HELP L EAT AS MANY SWEETS AS POSSIBLE!!! FIND MELLO'S CHOCOLATE IN THE MAFIA HQ! COLLECT ALL OF NEAR'S TOYS BEFORE THEY GET SMOOSHED BY THE OTHER SPK MEMBERS! WRITE DOWN NAMES AS FAST AS POSSIBLE SO RAITO CAN CONTINUE TO MURDER PEOPLE!!!" ...Yeah, that'll REALLY take off... rolleyes

A game would be interesting. Good graphics, nice game play, anything, I'd get it. But yeah, even if its a rumor, it might not happen. Japan is like that, and if they do make it, lets hope its not like final fantasy and takes a million years before reaching the US! ^^

Being an avid player of problem solving video games (such as Mist and Shadow of Destiny < heart EIKE heart >) a Death Note video game might just be the coolest thing in the world!!!!!

And why am I just finding this out now? Oh, yeah, because I pretty much live under a rock...

But, I will say this about the DN video game; the creators definitely have their work cut out for them, if they are actually wishing to make a gae worthy of the Death Note name. Manga/anime based game rarely do work, though the one I have( Fullmetal Alchemist 2: The Crimson Elixir) was awesome...short, at only 5 chapters, but awesome, least in me and my friend's opinion. They definitely have a lot to think about in the way of gameplay, characters to involve, storyline...If they do it, they should at least try to do the series justice. Who knows, they may come up with something that we would have never thought of, and it will be awesome. but, it could easily go the other direction all together. It's risky business, making a game out of a manga/anime series...
