There's no All-District where I am. There's All-County, NYSCAME, and All-State. Since I live in Suffolk County, NY (I believe it's either the largest county in the country, or the 2nd largest...), they just don't have All-District. I've been to All-County (eastern Suffolk, division III for 9th and 10th graders) twice--once on my standard clarinet, and once on contrabass clarinet. I'm going to participate in the NYSCAME (which includes all of Suffolk, and is open to juniors and seniors) mixed chorus...next week actually! And at the very end of this month, I'm headed upstate to be in the All-State women's choir (once again, juniors and seniors). Woot. cool AND...I applied for All-Eastern, and I'm waiting to hear back. : D
Oh yes...when we audition for All-County, NYSCAME, and All-State, we need to prepare a solo, scales (for instrumentalists), and be able to sightread 8-12 bars of music. I hear that All-District auditions just entail scales and sightreading. The competition in NY is mindboggling though, just because of the population and the proximity to NYC. Students here start earlier than most kids in the country too. It kind of sucks, because the standards are set excrutiatingly high. : (

I auditioned for all state middle school today i messed up so bad though i know i can play better but everyone was so supportive when i came out crying cause like everyone had their ears pressed to the door lisenting to me , i wish i would make it cause i know(and everyone said they did too) i can play better than i did stressed

I try out for region in December, I'm pretty sure I'm going to make it. One of the kids in my section last year missed Region by 4 chairs. A couple of other freshmen made all-state(OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!) last year, along with a senior.

Yeah, we had a freshman and a senior make state last year. We had 4 freshman (including me!) make Area last year. Phase 1 auditions are on the 28th for us.

i was like 9 chairs away from making it thru phase 1 of region
D:
i was the highest freshman in my room though biggrin
the section leader from last year made all-state in his freshman year hahah

I was in All-County Band last year(13th out of 16..my Clarinet was acting up sweatdrop )...I'm auditioning for All-County and All-District this year, sometime early in mext Semester(January of Febuary)

I'm first chair at districts this year.
And i'll probably one of the very top chairs at all state.

As an update to my post in here earlier, I made first chair bass clarinet at district...and being a senior, I'm probably going to state. ^.^ I can't wait to find out for sure.

I tried out for regionals yesterday, and did really well. I had a 247 out of 270, so I have a feeling I definitely made region, and probably am able to audition for all-state as well.
I was early for my audition, so they rushed me in as soon as I got there (the room was running early), and I'm surprised I did as well as I did.

I'm in eighth grade and I made it into All-State for Rhode Island. I don't think there are any All-District bands, or anything like that ,since RI is so small. mrgreen

well we have region then area then state i believe
i got 7th in my room at phase one of region but i got 1st chair concert at phase 2 :/ (17th overall)
i was mad but i guess getting first for concert is better than last for symphonic

I got my all state scores today.
My total score this year is more than ten points higher than the score last years first chair got last year. And the piece is harder this year.

Made it to Districts two (and possibly three) years in a row.
I also made Regions last year.
