The bird followed slowly after, almost tripping on the doorstep because he wasn't watchin. He caught the door frame before he fell and quickly hurried in a bit sheepishly. Empty wasn't going to tell him how to get home.
He stared at the firewood a second before shaking his head. Definitely no. "Ha d-does no-t li-like me i-in th-the kit-chen." He stated quietly, starting to move further into the house.
Even with her explaination of why it was ok he wasn't so sure and besides, he had to get home didn't he? Wouldn't someone be worried by now? A quick look outside of the window suggested that waiting till morning might still be better though. He had pretty good eyesight, but not the best. "Ok..."

Well, she really really didn't want the bird to be cold! Scurrying over to the wood, Medusa lifted the smallest log she could find and carried it carefully over to the fireplace, dropping it with a large huff.
She then stood there, staring at it as if she expected it to catch on fire.

Revon wasn't so worried about being cold as he was about being lost. Though heat wouldn't be bad either. Of course, he wasn't about to let someone else do allt he work. A few steps and he snagged a piece of wood to drag over and plop in the fireplace as well.
He wasn't very strong physically, but he'd been told the importance of doing your part. So he'd tried to get a decently sized log to put on.
Now... how did fire work again? He glanced around hunting for a switch like for the stove, confusion sweeping as he didn't spot one. How on earth did this thing work?

Glancing to Revon, Medusa thought she had enough, crossing her arms and pouting. She didn't remember, and so far, there was nothing to start it.
A bag of charcoal lay near the fireplace, and curiosity piqued Medusa's interest before she moved to peer into it, reaching in to take out a few. The charcoal rubbed off on her with ease, making her see-through skin a dark pasty color, no longer see-through.

The boy peeked over as the girl began fussing with the bag a bit, coming back with a hand covered in black. Stuff that turned you black? He'd never really seen anything that did that besides crayons and markers, but as he drew nearer to the bag he was ensured that the contents was neither substance. So what was it?
He fished out a piece of his own to examine, the fact that it left sooty marks on his hand mostly unnoticable due to the already dark shade. "W-what is i-it?" Asking sometimes helped.

Medusa shrugged in a gesture that claimed she didn't know, but she grabbed a few pieces and placed them on top of the firewood. Hey, they might have been good for something!
It was then that she saw it; a familiar cardboard paper thing folded over itself, on a makeshift table. The jellyfish girl walked over to it and took it, opening it before wrenching one of the matchsticks free, turning the cardboard thing over and over to attempt to figure it out.

Right, so neither of them really knew. A fleeting moment of wishing his guardian was there, even knowing the berating he'd get. Or his brother.... they'd know what to do. He really was useless, wasn't he?
Even as the girl was messing with the new object he could only inch a bit forward and think about how he had seen the thing before. Once, Haru had been lighting a candle. It wasn't a common thing, but a rare enough occurance he did remember. A bit. He carefully held out a hand in asking for the object, figuring he'd be able to replicate it.
Because Haruki did things that he'd only seen or read about all the time. It couldn't be that hard could it?

"I'm gonna lewk." Medusa murmured softly, glancing around and walking into another room, fingers curling by her sides. It wasn't long before she came out with a couple of blankets, her coal-smudged hands staining the blankets lightly. "These?" She offered, holding one out to Haruki before wrapping herself in one, laughing at the fuzzy feeling. "Mam wrappeded herself in wun of thaeys." The jellyfish girl smiled at him.

The girl mentioned going to find something to which he managed a small nod. While Medusa wandered into the other room Revon took the matches and eyed them for a moment. A slight hesitation as he pulled one out, biting his lower lip. So he moved it quickly along the rough end and it should light... then throw it on the fire?
As the girl returned with the blankets he glanced up, smiling lightly before turning back to trying the actions out. It couldn't be too hard. A quick sharp movement and- a dud? Or perhaps he hadn't been fact enough. Another try with the same match proved unsuccessful and he sighed, setting the box aside before taking the blanket.
"Y-yea, th-ey are n-nice."
