Kathlyn smiled and the fire rushed for her; she closed her eyes and let it wrap around her harmlessly. Fire was the one element that was her true friend. She Twisted the flames around her and pushed them back at James. She wouldn't be taken out so easily.
Kathlyn tightened her hands on her swords and swept down swinging her blades in an x patteren sending out a wave of energy towards James just behind the flames. She had managed to aviod most of the shards of ice; although a few had scraped her lightly. At the moment the ice wasn't burning her skin enough to be a serious problem so she wasn't too concerned.
Kathlyn then sliced through the wind around Okami and swung one of her blades at her. She wanted to test Okami's reaction time and her up close battle skills. If anything Kathlyn was far more of an up close and personal kind of fighter.

James merely waved her hand and the fire and energy blast disappeared. She wasn't about to let Kathlyn win. James thought hard about an element that would easily take care of both Kathlyn and Okami, but her only main option was earth and sadly there was no earth around. That left her with fire, water, wind, and spiritual energy. Then she remembered that her blade had an earth substance in its handle. With her gentle movements, James commanded the blade through the tornado and aimed it at Kathlyn. Then, using her tornado as a suction, she propelled herself into the air and then grasping the sword, aimed herself and struck. In order to keep her defense up though, James pulled with her icy spikes that she connected with her body. She knew that Okami would be able to manipulate the ice, but James could counteract her strike.

" So you want to play it that way, huh?" She first made several layers of ice under to clow the tornado down. She knew that water beats fire, and when you melt ice you get water. The in response to Kathlyn's attack, she dodged the attack and she made ice cover her sword and she sliced at Kathlyn's cheek. Not staying to see whether it hit her or not, she jumped through the place where Kathlyn had come in through, and jumped on the ice. She had gotten a burned a good bit because of the fire in the tornado. Making a thin layer of ice appear on her skin to help cool the burning she also a huge ice sword. "How about this?" She threw it through the air at the tornado, and made it shatter into several small daggers. She covered herself with more ice, and focused and keeping the ice solid.

Maintaining her composure, James landed on the icy ground below just as the ice daggers came pummelling at her. Emmiting a large wall of fire, she managed to melt most of the ice, suffering very little in damage. 'That does it' she thought. With great energy, she formed a ball of fire around her, causing her tornado to dissapate. Using the spiritual forces of the other two, she made the fire grow, until it swarmed the whole arena. She knew that Kathlyn could avoid the attack, but if she put forth enough fire power, Okami would eventually fall to the flames, especially once the ice melted and then evaporated. She increased the heat and in so doing, the power of it. "There's no where to hide from the flame Okami! You should just give up!" she shouted at the top of her lungs.

She stayed there smirking, and briefly laughed. Oh you think so, huh? Wouldn't that great ball of fire disband if something happened to you?" She closed her eyes concentrating as some sort of smokey substance appeared around her, twisting and curling like a snake. It was black with light blue streaks in it. The smoke quickly formed into a snake, until it became solid. Where the smoke was, there was now a black snake with ice blue eyes and an ice blue belly. It was a hooded snake, and moved around Okami, floating in the air. "Little did you know, I can use dark and ice magic." The snake was hissing, and growing much larger, to the point of where it's eye was a bit larger than Okami's fist. The snake left her, flowing gracefully towards James. It wrapped around her just enough so that they were face to face. The snake flickered out it's tounge and licked James cheek.

James used her wind control to propell the fire in a mass at Okami, before she closed her eyes and concentrated hard on putting up a good energy force. As she focused harder, something inside of her began to push itself closer to the surface. It was coming out. Her physical features began to shift slightly. Her eyes changed to a deep, dark black and her hair the color to match. Marks suddenly appeared on her body, strange ones that were made of blue swirls.
Instead of the intended good energy, it was replaced with pure evil energy. James began to feed on the snakelike energy. "Foolish. You think a mere snake can take me down? HA! That good girl James is gone now. I am here." And with that she threw a blast of fire in Okami's direction, followed up by a wind propelled dash on the icy surface with her sword drawn and then a shower of ice. It was a triple combo. One of her most deadly moves. Simultaneously, she fired the same attack at Kathlyn, minus the mad wind dash. Next, she slashed at Okami.

She watched the fire mass come at her and stayed still. The snake around James dissapated as she fed on it's energy, however it was of Okami's will. She smirked. "James. You are pathetic. You let your demon side take you over? I have much better control." She closed her eyes once more and this time there seemed to be a barrier going over her. An ice barrier. It eventually took hardened and was completly opaque. She shifted the ice under the barrier so she tunnled down. She closed up the area where she had tunnled under and waited. She heard a "fwoosh" go about her and assumed that it was the fire. As Shinkirou saw James she sat up. "James, get control of your demon side if it loves to kill everything in sight." Under the ice, Okami closed her eyes once more and slowly the ice under the surface turned black.

James may not have been able to hear Shinkirou, but she had been battling the inner demon. 'You have to stop! This is how you killed Michael! I won't let you kill anyone else!' she thought, but somehow it came out in words in her sweet voice. "NEVER! I'm tired of being locked away, so I'm taking this body and you can just go be with your precious Michael!" came the voice of her inner demon.
She then launched an attack. taking control of the ice around her, she took the ground beneath her and levitated into the air. Next, she ignited thousands of tiny ice spikes, using her control to prevent the ice from melting. She floated in the air for a few moments, then showered the arena with the ice. The inner demon threw her sword down deep at Okami, using her power to melt the ice in its path. She sped up the sword using both earth and wind so that it was travelling faster than the eye could see.

Shinkirou heard James and stood up, ready to interfer. "If this goes on much longer, I'm calling the match off. I've seen how violent half-demons can get with their demon side. Controlling them." She said. Okami mean while was sitting there, hearing a commotion from above. She saw the ice melt and she saw the sword. Currently there was no place to go, and it impossible to avoid from her position. She braced for the pain, but it never came. "I've my decision. The match is off." She was standing next to Okami and the sword was high up in the air because Shinkirou had made the wind take it up. It fell away from Okami in a corner of the arena. Okami got up and got out of the hole. "James, stand down. Or else I'd have to battle you into submission. Kathlyn, Okami. Get out of the arena. Okami walked up the steps, miffed.

It was as if something in James clicked. She finally gained control back again. As she did, the ice beneath her fell to the ground, her with it. James landed hard on the ice, breathing heavily. She looked up at the other three. "I'm sorry. I..." she couldn't even finish her sentence. James stood up and ran. She ran right out of the arena and the building.

Shinkirou watched her leave and she sighed. "Okami? Do not talk about this event to her for a couple months or so. If you do, I'll have to implode your skull. Same goes to you Kathlyn. Is that clear? Appearently, her demon side killed one her closest friends. I know that does not mean a lot to you, Okami, but it does to her. You've been brutally trained to control your demon side, and you agree with it too. Don't pick at it, understood?" She looked at Okami more seriously than she ever had before. "Fine. Whatever. Like I care what she does anyway....." Whether Okami realized it or not, she felt a little jealous. Not much, just a little.

Kathlyn stood very still. She nodded in response to the teacher. putting her hand over the cut on her cheek. She had managed to aviod the attack mostly; but it had still grazed her cheek. It was bleeding; but worse than that she could feel it burning from the ice. Her skin had visible steam rising off of it and she felt weak; but she doubted that the match was over.
The room seemed to be getting colder and colder; and she wasn't liking how her opponents seemed to prefer magic and long ranged battle. She was having trouble in this match; and although none of James attacks had hit, Kathlyn knew that if they had, they might have killed her. She looked over at Okami; trying to figure out what would happen next.
Clearly inbetween being in a totally ice based stage AND having a long ranged ice weilding opponent this battle would be very dangerous for her to continue. Still she never backed down and had already learned a lot in this one battle. She wasn't ready to quit yet.

She looked at Kathlyn and noticed how she looked. "If you two want, you can continue the match. Though without James in the fight that makes things a bit easier for, huh? Clearly, ice isn't your element. However, you may forfeit if you want. There isn't going to be a winner for this fight any way." She looked at Okami then Kathlyn. She walked over towards the edge of the arena and picked up James' sword. "I would highly suggest that we call off this match, though. You look almost dead on your feet, and Okami looks like a terrible opponent for you. But, that is your decision." She looked at a clock in the corner of the room and turned back to them. "On second thought, we need to start class. Besides, Glissa might actually come to class. And that wouldn't be good if she didn't find us there. She 'd be pissed off. Of course, I did give her permisson to skip class today, considering she drunk more than a hundred men could.....Nah, I think we should go."

Kathlyn gave a bow of her head, "I'm fine. If Okami still wishes to continue this battle I have no objections." She planted her feet on the icy ground and although she could feel the energy in her body being drawn out by the cold ice she refused to give up. If she stopped just because ice was her biggest weakness; it would be an insult to both her and her clan.
She turned to the teacher, "Unless it is your wish to have us all return to the classroom and not continue to fight. I'm not ready to give up just yet."

"Yes, I think we should head back. You can continue this fight another time. More people might have arrived, and leaving them sitting there wouldn't be good." Okami crossed her arms. "Pff. Whatever. She's too weak anyway." She said, unhappily.
