Obie smirked a little at his reminder and smiled as he squeezed her.
"Um... She told me just the basics I suppose. That your uncle had taken Parisa out and that they found you next to your aunt crying for her," she said softly, opening her eyes to stare at the bathroom tiles. She could see clearly the photographs of him in the hospital and wasn't so sure she wanted to hear the details of how he had come to be like that. But she wanted to here for him more than anything, and if listening to him was what he needed, then she would definitely be all ears.

Ra nodded and looked into the bathroom.
"That's about right. Things I don't remember. Well, only in dreams, I am sure you can imagine what I see is not pretty. My burns come from the coals she was cooking over. The scars on my back, where I was pinned. At first I didn't understand. My mother told me that god had taken my aunt and my cousins. I used to wonder why he didn't take me. Like, maybe I wasn't good enough." He gave a small laugh and looked down at her. "But my grandmother, my father's mother. Used to call me her angel. She said that god had saved me. Which is more confusing ... then I thought, why didn't he save my aunt and cousins."
He smirked at the strange thoughts that had plagued him as a child.
"I suppose that's why I don't believe in him so much. I mean, you've seen the pictures. Coming to terms with the pain and the unfairness of it was hard."

Obie listened closely to what he said, glancing up at him when she felt him look down at her. That made sense. A lot of sense and truly helped her to understand the way he had once felt. She could remember the several conversations they had had regarding god and family, and she could remember the amount of confusion and fear that would be in his eyes. Shifting a little, she wrapped her arms tightly around him.
"Regardless if it was because you were not good enough or a miracle, I am glad that you were not taken. I am just sorry that you have to suffer still," she said softly, closing her eyes again.

Ra laughed and kissed the top of her head.
"I don't suffer Obie. Not now. I'm healthy and I'm happy I have you, I have a family who loves me. I don't need anything else"
Resting his head against hers he closed his eyes and smiled contentedly.
"I've never been so happy as i am now. I mean look at me. Next week I'm posing naked for a picture. Three years ago I wouldn't let people touch me or wear t-shirts."

Obie laughed and shifted a little to get more comfortable against him.
"Though I suspect that you are still under protest about it," she smirked. "But you are right. You have come a long way," she said then fell silent for a few minutes. She was starting to doze a little, but forced herself to rouse again.
"Fate is so odd," she murmured seemingly randomly.

Ra laughed and smiled.
"Why do you say so?" He asked sinking into the pillow a bit and relaxing into the warmth of the blanket. "Technically I am not supposed to believe in fate. Everything that happens is god's will."
He smirked and hugged her tight for a moment again whilst waiting for her answer.

"Okay, then god's will is so odd," she smirked sleepily, moving with him as he got more comfortable.
"It's just odd," she repeated and fell silent for a moment as she tried to think about what she wanted to say.
"All those years ago, you could have been taken from this world, but you weren't. You were the only one in the house to survive. Your mother could be the good, docile muslim woman that she was expected to be, but she isn't. Ya'll could have been moved to anywhere in the world because of that, but ya'll weren't. Ya'll were moved to Japan and you just happened to end up at Aquila out of all the schools on the island and in the city. It's just really quite odd," she smiled, not caring if she was making sense or not. "But the best part is, all of that happened and here you are right now. Sitting on my bathroom floor, snuggled under my blanket with me and I could not be happier or more content. So I guess I'm selfish in saying so, but I'm glad that fate... or god's will, is so odd," she smirked, relaxing completely against him.

Ra smirked and laughed a little.
"Then maybe he wanted us to meet. He wanted us both to be happy and now we are."
He sighed a little and looked around. There was no longer noise in the hall. Everyone seemed to have settled down.
"Would you like to move somewhere more comfortable." He asked, stroking her hair. "I have a feeling we will regret it if we fall asleep here."

"That's what I think," she smiled sleepily. She looked up at his suggestion and smiled as she pulled away. Taking the blanket with her, she tossed it carelessly over her bed and stretched out underneath it.
"You know... it's even more odd to think that our paths would one day cross," she smiled and waited for him to bring the pillow over. "I know that three years ago I never would have dreamed to have the things I do now and it's even more odd to think of the paths I had to take to get here," she smirked a little as she laid back on her elbows to watch him.

Ra smiled and stood up. Crossing the room so that he could slip under the covers next to her.
"I don't know, stranger things have happened." He smirked as he pulled her into his arms. "And besides don't you believe in soul mates?"

Obie curled up happily in his arms and breathed him in deeply. She was so glad that he was no longer afraid. She had not liked the terror that had seized him. It had scared her a little, but she was glad that she was able to help him calm down.
"No," she answered simply, closing her eyes. "Or at least I didn't. I'm not so sure now. You make me believe a lot of things I used to not," she smirked, nuzzling his chest lightly.

"All these paths, leading us here. Must have been for a reason. If you believe in fate." He smirked laying his head on the pillow and slipping his fingers through her hair.
Closing his eyes he smiled, to think an hour or so ago he had been cowering on her bathroom floor.
"Night Obie." He said softly. he had missed this.

With his soft, deep voice and fingers running through her hair, Obie was already drifting back off.
"Mmm... good night Ne-chan," she said softly and within minutes she was sound asleep.
