Donny laughed helplessly at his friend's response. It sounded a lot like what he would have said, in Armel's position. "Great." He replied quickly, before falling silent again.

There were few topics that weren't sore spots for Donny, but they popped into his mind nonetheless. He pondered on the least annoying of all, and kicked a stone out of their way as they walked along.

"Are you doing anything for Halloween?" He didn't want to ask 'are you dressing up' because Armel might have thought him childish for suggesting such a thing. It was still their first time seeing each other as older children, after all.

He walked alongside his friend. The boy was comfortable in the silence for the most part, but it seemed a little unlike Donny. Something seemed different, but it had been different since the last time he had the pleasure of Adonis' company. Still, he didn't want to pry or press his friend for information for it would cause unneeded wounds and it seemed like he could use some time with a friend.

Adonis spoke and it caused Armel to glance over at him and shrug a shoulder, "Dunno yet, was thinking about dressin' up and at least scare some of the little kids, or something." Clearly all plans for him were mostly up in the air. He didn't seem too shy about dressing up for Halloween. After all if adults still do it why couldn't they? He seemed thoughtful, "Anythin' in particular ye had in mind, m'friend?" he was obviously up to suggestions.

They walked for a moment longer before Armel asked as if in afterthought, "Ye hungry, by the way?" He had no idea if Adonis had anything to eat before meeting him out here. The ram horned boy was sharply reminded that he had missed his dinner by the way his stomach protested with an irate grumble.

Donny frowned slightly. "I don't get a choice actually. My brother, the one who's always running around naked? We don't talk about him much. But, he's forcing me to come help him at his friend's party, so I have to go there. But he promised me candy mountains, and I mean mountains." He held his arms up dramatically. "And I intend to collect, one way or another. I'll share with you once I have it all, if you like. I couldn't possibly expect to eat it all myself."

His own stomach panged painfully at mention of dinner, and he smirked. "I haven't eaten all day, actually."

Armel nodded, "Probably going to be made to go out and prance in costume somewhere if they can catch me," the boy grinned lightly, "but then again gettin' to see you again and also partake in candy is awesome. I'll even add whatever I get to the pile, like a treasure hoard."

He blinked a bit in shock and then shook his head, "We'll get m'Da to make us a dinner or something, unless he already cooked somethin'." Armel nodded firmly as this is how things must go and must be. The boy thought for a moment, "An' then we can build another fort and hide out there," even though they were older it didn't mean they had to abandon fort building, "We can even use bigger stuff now," he grinned.

Donny smiled secretly at the mention of a fort. "Oh, I don't think we need to do that." He whispered, his eyes shifting to the side at Frey. He was still across the street, prancing in his own little world. Safe from prying ears, Donny rose his eyes back up to his best friend. "There's been something I've been meaning to show you, but it's kind of.. weird. And I'm not even sure how I'm doing it, or why, so.. I've been hesitant." He bit his lip, and quickened his walk.

"But it can wait until after dinner. It'll be our little secret."

Armel just smiled as Donny attempted to keep their potentially embarrassing antics of their younger days a secret and just nodded not saying anything more on the topic as they walked along. They were making quick progress along the streets getting closer to the D'Arcy household. The ram-horned boy glanced over at his good friend with a raised eyebrow and quickened his own walk to match his pace with Adonis, "Somethin' weird?" he echoed his tone inflicting a questioning feel to it, while Armel wasn't usually nosy his curiosity was suddenly awakened from it's deep slumber.

"I guess I can wait that long," Armel teased with a light laugh, "Got me all curious m'friend." He went on conversationally as he went along. The boy quietly glanced upwards at the sky and then over at Adonis and just said, "I'm glad t'see ye again, even if it was jus' a lil' unexpected."

In a show of unexpected affection, Donny hugged his friend with one arm. "It's nice to see you too." For a Tale who spent most of his early youth clinging and hugging anyone they could, Donny had spent too much time alone. His hugs had become scarce, and his bitter attitude had become a norm. Perhaps it was the influence of the situation at home, but he simply wasn't the Tale he used to be.

Still, Armel reminded him of a better time, when being a kid was allowed.

He grinned at his friend's curiosity, but remained silent. He was obviously proud about something, but he refused to say what until after dinner.

"We're close, aren't we? I'm starving!"

Armel hugged his friend back with one arm as they walked along. He had noticed the changes in Donny but was didn't want to drag the observations across any emotional or mental wounds his friend may be currently suffering. Besides, they were currently having fun and being what they were best: friends until the end. Where ever the end may be. Armel was only sure that no matter what the future held he'd be by Adonis' side taking on and taking down those that oppose or threaten them.

He glanced around for the usual landmarks that showed where he was so that he could orient himself. Mentally ticking off an odd lawn gnome and a couple of creepy looking pink flamingos off of his list as they walked in what now seemed to be a sparse suburb he nodded to his friend, "Almost," Armel replied confidently.

Armel was so caught up in checking and responding they almost passed the beginning of the driveway that lead up to the D'Arcy household. The ram-horned boy paused and then stepped a bit back and gently lead his friend in the right direction, "Sorry about that," he uttered gruffly with a small blush.

Donny paused when he saw his friend backstep, and looked up at the house he decided to go down. He grinned when he realized Armel had almost passed it, and reached up, ruffling the dark hair between his horns. "That's okay, I'll still be your friend if you lose your mind!" He chided, breaking into a run towards the front door before the boy could retaliate physically or verbally. He stopped at the door and leaned against it, watching Armel carefully to catch him if he tried anything. Donny'd catch him. He'd wrestle the boy down here and now if he had to.

THROW DOWN.

Armel's arms went up over his head but far too late. He uttered a "FAH!" sound whatever a FAH was no one could be sure. After a moment of watching Adonis make a run for the door and straightening out his hair again he pointed after Donny and was seemingly going to say something but obviously ... Armel was at a loss. So he stood there for a few moments before he just ran toward Donny with the intent to tackle the other boy down.

THROW DOWN!

It was at that point the door was starting to open, and it was also at that moment that Armel was leaping at Adonis.

Just as he'd expected, Armel came running for him, and Donny rooted his feet for leverage. Unfortunately he was thin, and not so much with the balance on his feet. Therefore, when Armel pounced him, Donny caught the boy in his arms and fell back, swiveling so they both fell on their sides. He would not be pinned down so easily!

A moment later, he realized the door hadn't given him the stability he needed to stay standing, and he looked up. The door had opened, how interesting! And who might Donny see as he looked up at the door opener.. person? WHO KNOWS! Tune in next post to find out!

It was ... THE LONE RANGER!

...Actually not really it was a young woman that looked familiar yet not. The only reason why the woman seemed familiar was the green eyes, the dark hair with a crimson streak, and the fact that she seemed to be at least six feet tall. The woman's face even looked familiarly built. In fact she looked an awful lot like Armel's Author: Pales.

Was this blood relative or was it the man ... er woman herself? Something going on in the abode where Armel lived that was for certain.

At least the door opening saved them from severly hurt heads as they rolled about for a moment both boys trying to get supremacy over the other. Though when the door opened Armel, too, looked up and blinked a bit, "Uhh, hi Da.." Even with the slight pause he was attempting to still wrestle his friend to where he could pin him down. It wasn't easy as Armel was currently a little pre-occupied.

Pales leaned on the door way with arms crossed under her chest with a small smirk, "Hello to you as well. You two hungry? There's still some leftovers."

Adonis didn't really think much on the woman who opened the door, being as he didn't think much on people in general. He was too busy trying to pwn Armel down, but it wasn't until he heard Armel call the woman 'Da' that anything clicked. He had been just about to take advantage of the slight pause in Armel's behavior to pin the boy, when he looked up at the woman. Da? Was that..

He left himself as wide open as he had thought Armel was a minute ago, and felt himself pinned and pwned. Sigh.

Seeing as he'd been bested due to his moment of weakness, he took a moment to look up at Armel's 'father' with a raised brow. He knew Armel's dad liked other guys.. but he had no idea he went so far as to have.. y'know. A change. He cringed at the thought. That must have hurt.

Oh well!

He looked up at Armel, sticking his tongue out but grinning. "I was distracted, no fair!" He cried, trying to push himself up and over the boy. He was flushed and all hyped up, and this was why he loved wrestling, and hanging out with Armel. And, subsequently, wrestling with Armel.

Armel grappled with Adonis for a moment or two longer.

Pales shook her head rolling her eyes as she turned to venture back inside and left the door wide open. The smell of food wafted out doors taunting the wrestling lads.

Soon the ram-horned boy got himself thoroughly pwnt by his golden friend and he just laid there panting for a moment staring back toward the open door and then up at his friend, "Race ye inside!" he said suddenly as he began to wriggle and contort a bit to try and get himself further across the threshold. He would win! First body fully inside would be declared champion for the day!

Or at least until a new bout of wrestling began.

It felt stifling, didn't it? Or perhaps that was just Donny's ego filling up the entire BLOCK with pride as he sat on his friend, having regained the glory once lost. Ahh, to be awesome once more. He puffed up like some kind of chest.. puffing.. animal, yes, and looked around to see who he could gloat at for viewing his victory. No one. Drat.

He blinked down at the wriggling figure, digesting his words. Race? He could hardly move! Donny would surely win this one. He rolled off the boy only to realize that he was not as free to do so as he thought. Half his body was still somehow intertwined with Armel, and he was just as hindered in movement as the other boy! He began to squirm with fierce delight, helplessly letting out a giggle as they squirmed into the doorway. Every time he grasped and pulled himself forward, Armel was just a moment away, pulling himself up and somehow pulling Adonis down! It was a neverending battle, and they moved by inches, slow as squirming slugs. Eventually they would get inside.

Eventually.
