All though I perfer the Battle Rifle, I think the SMG is a decent starting weapon not being too strong but not being too weak either.

I like BR starts, because that is the weapon that I am most comfortable using in the entire game. I will pick up a SMG because I cannot use the shotgun, energy sword, or sniper properly. xo

Good question. As some people said, it really depends on the level you're playing and what other risks there are. I like the BR due to its accuracy, and the fact that you can headshot the enemy to death. When it comes to SMG's, HOSE EM'!!!!! scream scream domokun scream scream

br decreasses the dominance of power weapons because you can stand a chance with a br. but if you have a smg you will get owned every time.
so br is much more balanced in my opinion, i also just like the br more

Battle Rifle in my oppinion is a rather decent starting weapon. Aim carefully and you can literally kill shields in a few shots and probably nail a headshot. I like the old school version... battle rifle cause im more good at long range then close a good combination is you throw a grenade cause a big blast smoke then come come out of no where and smack them

I would defiantly go with the BR. SMG is kool and all, a fun weapon, but with a BR, it's much better for head shots.
