Day 12 - A bond.
I've been watching Finch and Raeli for a couple of days now. They've rather grown fond of each other. Raeli has an interesting habit of clinging to Finch's leg whenever he walks past.
Finch seems to have become a motherly figure to the little under, though he still clearly acts male. I hope that Raeli won't pick up any of Finch's bad habits or we'd all be in a lot of trouble. One Finch is enough.
Every night the little under is sent to bed, and told a fairy tale. Most of them are made up because Finch isn't fond of the originals. It's quite cute actually. I'll have to remember to take a photo one day.

Day ?? - New writer
I have finally decided that I can't keep up with these journal entries myself, and the fact that I'm not around to see what happens doesn't help. So anyway, I'm passing this journal to Finch to write in.

Wow. I've never written in a journal before. In was surprised when Spider gave it to me. I don't even know what it's for, but I told her I'd write in it anyway.
Jynelle and Raeli have become closer now that the little Dryad has hatched. I assume she's a Dryad, she certainly looks like one. Raeli is still rather attached to me though. He clings to me like he's a part of my body or something. It freaks you out a little when you half asleep and you don't realize he's under you until he latches on to you. But hey, what can I say. We connect.

Raeli's Company
I must admit I haven't been paying as much attention to Raeli as I could do, but I have other things on my mind as well. My relationship with Alexi, keeping the apartment clean and tidy, keeping Spider sane. I swear it's been ages since that girl was outside, it's pathetic. She is trying though.
Anyway Raeli's speech has developed a fair bit now. He can almost create a full sentence. He's actually a lot of fun to have around with you when your lonely or just bored. It's great having another body cling to you so lovingly. Erm, no I don't mean like that...

Raeli's Best Friend
Mercutio has been leaving Jynelle with me on Tuesdays. I'm not sure why, but he says it's his 'alone time'. I'm not sure if something deeper if going on in his mind or what, but I haven't asked. Anyway, my point is that Raeli and Jynelle have been hanging out with each other a fair bit. They're best friends now.
Raeli's a quick learner when it come to reading, though his writing is still a bit off. He hasn't had much contact with the outside world, so I plane to ask Mercutio if I can take the two out somewhere. It would give them both a chance to understand the world a little better, I think, I hope.

Update Every day I teach Raeli a little about my world. What I do, how I survive, things like that. He seems rather keen to learn, but I'm worried about what he doesn't know. He knows my story, but not his own. He doesn't even know where or how his own kind live. It's sad, but I'm not really sure what more I can do. Poor kid. I just hope he'll be happy with what he knows and not start asking questions I don't have answers too. There are actually a lot of them out there you know?

Clean UpNight took over the sky and spread stars to all corners above the world. Finch yawned and stretched his arms out infront of him. He'd been asleep for a full 12 hours, having little to no reason for waking earlier than usual. He turned to the kitchen and checked the time before deciding to make himself some breakfast.
Raeli stumbled out of his room carrying a bundle of magazines. His care-taker took one quick glance at the top one before snatching them out of the undera's hands blushing like a tomato. "Raeli... Those... Those aren't for your eyes..." he stuttered trying to explain the his porn collection weren't suitable for him to be reading. Raeli smiled and nodded.
"I know. I just wanted to find somewhere else for them. I'm trying to clean up our room a little." The undera said with a giggle after noticing Finch's redness. He dumped them on a chair and vanished back into their room. "Shandi and Peri don't like the messy state of the apartment." He continued calling back to the embarrassed vampire standing in the dinning room.
Sighing Finch picked up the magazines and dumped them in the trash can. He didn't need them anyway. He could always call Alexi if he had cravings. "The both of them aren't layed-back enough. They need to loosen up before they end up on their own. Although... That's probably what they want..." Finch replied tidying up the lounge. It was filthy from a drinking competition he'd had with Niro the night before. "Was I wasted or was I wasted?" He muttered picking up several empty beer bottles.

Clean Up part 2Finch dropped himself in the armchair in the middle of the living room. "2 hours... 2 hours it's taken to clean the one apartment. No wonder Shand was so pissed." He said to the exhausted looking Raeli near his feet.
The undera gave a little purr as a response and grabbed a hold of Finch's leg, like he so often did. "What's today? Ack! Who cares right now." He both asked and answered. He reached down and ruffled Raeli's hair. "Want something to drink? Or eat? I'm sure you must be worn out after that." He said standing and making his way to the kitchen(with Raeli still attached).
He got himself a sandwich and cut up a piece of fruit for the undera on his leg. He wanted to make sure Raeli grew up fairly healthy, so there was no junk food anywhere in the apartment. They both ate the food as if they'd been starving for 2 weeks on the street.

Big mistake!It was a Saturday. The sky was black and only the moon shone through the thick clouds forming a blanket in the sky. Finch sat up in bed and gave a sleepy yawn. He almost jumped 2 feet in the air when something made a noise in the lounge room. "Shoot. Do those girls have nothing better to do than make noise?" He mumbled getting out of bed to tell Shandi and Peris off.
He was surprised to see no one in the room when he flicked on the light switch. "Eh? That's strange." He said just before he noticed something move in the corner of his eye.
Rolling his eyes, Finch wandered around the corner of the kitchen bench expecting to see Raeli or one of the girls there. He got a bit of a shock when he noticed the person was male, and wearing a black mask on his face.
Finch hissed with fangs glistening at the stranger in the kitchen. "Who are you?" he demanded in a raspy voice, "Just what do you think you are doing?"
The man jumped at the sight on Finch's teeth and was reduced to a stuttering frightened mess on the floor, begging for his life. "Pl-please, My Lord. I-I had no idea th-this was where you and your Mistress lived... I-I herd you were still in you mansion on the hill..." The man started muttering hastily shaking like a collapsing mine.
Finch's face eased and his eyes widened. "Jenson? So this is where you ended up? How disgusting..." He said screwing his nose up at the man who had clearly not had a bath in a while. "You are still a fool, boy. You stole things from my townsfolk, and now you steal from these people." He took the man up with ease and took him out onto the balcony, holding over the edge of the railing.
"You should pay for the damage you have done..." Finch snarled staring the man in the eyes.
"As should you! You should burn in hell for all of eternity for your crimes!" The Jenson bloke shouted angrily, but still scared out of his mind. This only made Finch even more angry. He was about to let go of the man so he'd fall to his death when a sudden little shriek from inside stopped him.
"Raeli?" He said turning back towards the apartment. Finch dumped the man on the inside of the rail and sighed. "Get out. I'm going to call the cops, so you'd better be gone." He said softly, diverting his eyes to the ground.
The man dashed out the door and down the corridor faster than you could say; "Police, I've been robbed"
Raeli snuck out from behind the lounge and stared up at his care-taker. His eyes were full of fear. Fear about what Finch was about to do. "Finchy?" He said looking for re-assurance.
Finch bent down to raeli's level and gave him a hug before picking up the phone to call the police.

Fearful UnderaThe entire night before, Raeli had tried to avoid Finch. After seeing his care-taker come close to killing a man, the little under was afraid to get close.
Finch sat silently on the bed in his room and stared blankly up at the ceiling. It wasn't a very good thing to do, especially now that his neck was aching from it. "Raeli? I'm sorry you had to see that. I... I didn't know what I was doing. That man did wrong things, and that made me angry. Please... Don't be afraid of me." He said with tears beginning to roll down his face.
The undera was surprised that Finch knew he was close enough to hear him. He shuffled towards the bed a little when he noticed the tears that streaked the man's face. Hesitating, Raeli scrambled up onto the bed and curled up in Finch's lap. The man's skin was cool against his warmer, smaller body. He only relaxed when Finch ran his fingers through his hair.
"I've kept that part of me hidden for so long, I didn't even notice I'd let it loose again. I want you to know I don't like doing it. I never did... and that I'll never hurt you, or anyone else I care about." The saddened vampire muttered looking down on the little body in his lap.

Forget About ItThe next few days were a little awkward for the Undera. Knowing what Finch was capable of was weighing on him heavily.
Finch, however, went straight back to being his old self. It was like the event never took place.
Raeli staggered into the kitchen with his eyes down-cast.
"What's wrong, ma'dear?" Finch asked with a worried look. Seeing the small creature in this state was a little... unsettling? "You don't look well at all." He continued picking Raeli up delicately and feeling his forehead.
The undera squirmed a little and moved away from Finch's hand. "Raeli? Please, love, don't shut me out like this. You need to let me know what's going on so I can try and fix it." The vampire said placing the little body on the bench before him.
Raeli shuddered a little and looked into Finch's eyes. "That night." He spoke simply without emotion in his tone. Finch's response was a silent nod and a short hug. The man handed Raeli a mug filled with a sweet smelling liquid, that he'd never tasted before.
"I'm sorry you had to see that, truly I am. Do you think you could forgive and forget? I'd prefer it if none of the others found out, 'cause I'm trying to stop living by the old way's I'm used to." Finch requested before taking a sip from another mug full of the same liquid.
Raeli nodded and drank some of his drink. "No more." The undera instructed, getting a bit of colour back into his skin.

Happy FamilyFinch was humming a little tune while his hands were submerged in hot soapy water. Pulling what was once a dirty plate out of the sink and placing it in the drying rack, he noticed something latch on to his leg with a sudden rush. "Raeli do be careful, I might have dropped something." He said smiling down at the undera that clung on tightly.
Raeli smiled back cheerfully and giggled playfully, tightening his grip. "Finchy! When do I see Nelle?" He asked excitedly. He loved spending time with Mercutio's undera Jynelle more than he loved learning to read.
"I'm not sure dear, I guess whenever they come around again. We haven't seen them for over a month have we?" Came Finch's reply as he bent down to Raeli's level, wiping his hands dry on his pants. He was actually getting a little worried about the two having not contacted or been contacted by Mercutio for so long. He ruffled Raeli's hair and smiled before giving the undera a hug and returning to his dirty dishes.

Growing up!Raeli was watching himself in the mirror with curiosity. He'd grown overnight and was rather pleased with his new self. "I look so different, Finch!" He said turning around to his owner who'd been watching him.
"Of coarse you do. You look great." The vampire complemented the corsea with a smile. "Come and have something to eat or you might change again." He joked heading for the kitchen. He picked up a sandwich off the bench and handed it to Raeli with a grin before taking a bite out of one he had in his other hand.
"I wonder what Nelle will say when she sees me like this?" Raeli asked with a mouth full of food. "I'm so excited!" He added after he'd swallowed.
"Nelle would say; Yay! Rae grown up!" Said a familiar voice behind him. The undera had snuck in and been spying on them and their sandwiches. "Yay! Rae grown up!" She repeated playfully, giving Raeli a tight hug.

BickeringRaeli was still getting used to himself being different. He'd noticed that he wasn't as interested in childish games like hide and seek anymore, thought Jynelle always insisted on playing.
"I'm sorry Jynelle, I just don't feel up to it today. Maybe next time, eh?" He said lazing on the couch and staring at a book in his hand. "I promise I'll play with you tomorrow." He added turning an page and tilting to book down so he could see the un-happy undera at the other end on the couch.
"But Rae-Rae!" The dryad begged and whined. She then cross her arms over her chest in a pouting motion and directed her attention to the TV, though it wasn't on.
"Sorry." Raeli repeated shaking his head, "Not today." The corsea was getting a little irritated by his friend now, so he rolled over and tried to forget about her nonsense behavior. Jynelle picked her flute up to her mouth and started playing some calm slow songs to bring herself back into a good mood. She could never win against Raeli if she tried...

Grown FriendFinch unlocked the door to the apartment and let Jynelle in. "Rae! 'Nelle's here!" the vampire called with a smile. The other corsea floated out of his room carrying a pile of books in his hands. He took one look at the newly grown corsea hat was Jynelle and dropped everything in his hands.
Jynelle chuckled and went to help Raeli pick up the books. They were all his favourites. Apparently he was moving them all out into the lounge bookcase. "You've changed..." he managed to mutter. Jynelle chuckled again and shrugged.
A few hours later the two were seated in the lounge room, Raeli buried in a book, and Jynelle playing her flute. But it was growing late, and Jynelle wanted to get back home before dark. Finch decided it'd be a perfect time to get Raeli out of the house as well.
After dropping Jynelle off at Mercutio's again, Raeli and Finch walked down the street. "So? Is she still to young to hang around with?" the vampire asked with a cheeky smile.
"Shut up!" came a short yet low reply.
"Not yet. I'm having too much fun!" The vampire teased ruffling the corsea's hair.

Vampires and Glue do not mixRaeli grinned and looked up at his owner. The crazy vampire was attempting to play with his yo-yo. "I don't... I don't get it Raeli? How do you do it?" He asked with a pathetic look on his face. Here he was, a blood-sucking vampire born in the early medieval times, and he couldn't do something as simple as use a yo-yo. It wasn't even a new invention!
"It's all in th hand and wrist action." The corsea instructed. he took the yo-yo and slipped the loop of string over his finger. "Watch carefully and try to mimic it, okay?" He said before showing off with a ton of tricks.
"What! I can't do all that! can't we just stick with the basics? I can't even get the silly thing back up!" Finch whined flopping down on the lounge chair, "You make it look so easy!"
Raeli giggled and played with it a little more before setting it on the coffee table. "Alright. Here, try without the actual yo-yo." Raeli suggested making a slight movement with his hand. "Imagine there is actually something there and that it-" the corsea started before realizing the vampire was staring at his fingers. "What are you doing?" he asked frowning.
"My invisible yo-yo broked!" Finch called out like a child who'd accidentally broken their favourite toy, "How am I supposed to use it now?"
Raeli couldn't help but crack himself laughing. "Super glue!" He suggested grabbing a tube of glue which had been sitting on the table from when he was making his model Jet fighter. He squeezed the tube a little so the glue went all over Finch's fingers, while the vampire blinked and stared at it.
An hour had passed and the two males were in the kitchen. Finch had the side of his face and the forefingers on his right hand under warm water. "Are you sure this'll work?" The vampire asked attempting to pull his forefingers away from his cheek, without success. "I thought... Do you think one of the other's know how to unglue fingers from faces?" he asked ducking his head a little as he pulled it out of the sink and looked at the corsea seated on the bench. Raeli shrugged. "I'm tempted to just leave you like that. It'll be interesting to see how you manage to get you shirt on and off." He said before giggling hysterically.
"You are one evil little critter." Finch said with a sarcastic grin. He looked around before spying a phone book. "Do they have 'Help I SuperGlued Myself to Myself' helplines?" he asked wandering over to pick up the phone. His expression changed from a goofy one to a shocked one within a matter of seconds. "Raeli? Is it bad if you can't let go of the phone?" he asked turning around and holding up his left hand, which appeared to be holding the telephone tightly.
"Did you have glue on that hand too?" The corsea asked with a frown, "Remind me never to trust you with sticky substances."
Finch reached his left hand around to itch his right arm before getting that same look of dread on his face.
"You did it again didn't you?" The corsea laughed falling back and ending up on the floor. He went to pick himself up when he suddenly stopped. "Finch!! Please tell me you can still dial numbers!" He called trying desperately to remove his hands from the tiled floor.
