Yep. Probably me. Most of the people in band fall into the preppy label (if you want to label) and I fall into no label. No one in the band likes anime or the music I listen to, so I'm doomed to become an outcast. And if the people do they hang out with preps who I don't want to hang out with. If I do talk to people in band, it's the nerds. wink

Our band is a lot like one big family, it's so big, and there's such a wide variety of people, so there's always somebody to talk to, no matter who you are. There are also a few members that can be friends with absolutely anyone. It's pretty cool.

-raises hand slowly- Me... Yeah, I'm pretty shy, and I've only got a few friends at my school. Since my school is very small, the band is full of people I know. I talk to them, occasionally, but rarely.

Eh. Theres something of an "in" crowd and an "out" crowd in the band. It's actually a lot more complicated than that, but I won't go into it. But basically the latter group, the minority as well, of course, is what is described in the first post. People say the band is very close-knit, but, although they go largely unnoticed, there are plenty of people who remain outside of the general band family. I know, because I'm one of those people. I guess that answers the question...

I'm the loner in my band. I've tried to make friends, but most of the kids in band are a-holes and bitches who have their close-knit cliques.
But it doesn't really matter. I'm a senior now and I have true friends that go to different schools.

yeah me, i am a shophmore that plays tenor sax and i dont really fit in with anyone in marching or concert band. in concert band i talk to one person, Will, hes my section leader but he can be really mean. in marching band i talk to the 2 people in my section once again Will and the other tenor Gerald, and at games we get third quarter break and i always spend it alone. its not that i dont like being there or anything i'd rather be in band than any where else but im really shy and well i just dont fit.

I'm a flute. Out of 80, I know:
-4 trumpets -1 trombone -1 baritone -2 flutes -3 clarinets
I'm not entirely even sure seeing as I only talk to the trumpets

Me, I'm creepy, every knows it... I stare at my music and play it good, but no one knows exactly why I'm in the 3rds... They say I should be in the 4ths for being retarded... I'm just quiet, honest.

At my old school I was a loner, but now I go to a smaller school and we're like a big family. I'm the president, and if anybody seems to be kinda not happy about band and such, my council and I try to get them more included. Our last band clinic/sleepover was a big success. ^_^

Words Of Wisdom From Bagel... My bass drumming buddy. He sits there and reads the entire class. But when we aren't doing anything I somehow end up without shoes on. They usually end up in his hands. What's weird is that I'm not the loner. I'm an honorary member of almost every section. {And have fun shouting 'Go O-Phones!' Which are Mellos and Saxes.} Now Go Forth And Share Them...
