"I'm...uh...Melody." She replied, the awkward feeling growing in her until it felt like it was about to burst. "Perhaps we should let them cool down a little?"
It had absolutely nothing to do with the heat. Mereneth seemed displeased by the current situation and wiggled in his guardian's arms impatiently.

She shrugged, patting Aure's back. "I think it's Aurie's naptime. I guess we'd better go, anyway-" Riku paused. "What's your phone number? Maybe they'll be more friendly when they're older..."

Melody nodded silently to aknowledge this and searched her pockets for a piece of paper and pen, which she knew were in there somewhere. Scribbling down her phone number, she handed the paper to Riku. "Here. Feel free to call me...or anything."

"Sorry about Aure," Riku said, her voice plainitive. "She's never done that before." She hastily nodded, pulling out one of her Venport Industries cards with her work number and home number and handing it to Melody. "I hope I'll see you around," she continued, thinking privately, It's not likely.
