I'll try and answer that for you, hopeless. 3nodding
My way of clearing my mind is to hone in on an object that's relatively far away. For example, right now I'd turn my head away from the computer screen, and zoom in on the hinges of our game wardrobe on the other side of the room. After about maybe 30 seconds, my thoughts start to calm down and I start spacing out. It helps if no-one else is in the room, as otherwise they will be curious as to what you're looking at and bother you about it.
If this doesn't work for you straight away - don't give up. Try and do some "practice" beforehand. Stand up, turn your head to an object and walk towards it. Make sure that it becomes the only object in the world for you. When you get there, stop, turn your head and find another object. Follow it. You should feel calm and relaxed. If anyone is observing you, they should say that they want to find out what you're looking at, or that you're in your own little world. (Actors in theatre use this trick, you see. It's called focus.)
Or, if the far away thing doesn't work focus on a letter of something close to you - this could be the keyboard (but not one of the keys - for example maybe the o on the Home button), a letter on a DVD cover, or a word on the page of a book.
Just be patient. Don't be worried if you look stupid, or if this is cheesy, just scrutinise the object.
Hope I helped. smile

Thankyou for addingt his one. I am wanting to learn AP. When I practice it it feels like i can't escape my body. IS there any way I can stop this...and is it alright to be covered in blankets (its so much easier for me to lay down in my bed and I can only practice at night when everyone is asleep)

Yep, it's perfectly fine to be covered in blankets! whee I am every time I've practised, and no errors have occurred.
My guess is that you're not relaxed enough - try meditating beforehand, and lighting a candle that you've made yourself for that purpose. So, my advice is to try relaxing a lot more, but if that doesn't work.. Try something else. Is it like a barrier, kind of like a cage above you? If so, it may help to visualise that and visualise it breaking apart, or melting away or dis-integrating depending on what you envision it as. I'm trying to put myself in your situation, and what I see is a black concrete slab above may head, pulsing with a yellowish glow.
So, to remedy that I'd burn a candle that's colour was opposite to the colour of the slab (so it'd be white) and visualise the flame burning away at it, so hot and so bright that it'd melt it away. The next day you'd probably have to sweep your room with your besom (or, just a broom, but not actually touch the floor) and sweep away the remains of it on the floor, in the other plane.
Or, was I burbling on about the wrong thing? ^^;

sorry i am a bit late in response..been busy. I will try that..(at the moment i am not allowed to burn candles in my room but I may be able to get away with it) Also is is okay to do breathing exercises to be relaxed and such thry the mouth. I always get a stuffy nose when i lie downa nd it would be to uncomfortable if i were sitting to ap.

Jen, i've always wanted to be able to astral project. But, i've never really known how. The other day though, I was relaxing, and concentrating on it. Trying to will myself out of my body. Well, all of a sudden my entire body got this tingling feeling, the buzzing. I didn't let it throw me off though, I kept concentrating and trying to exit my body. I never got out though. I've reached the buzzing stage several times now, and I still haven't been able to exit. When I try to move myself out, it's always my actual body moving. I've no idea why. It's like, I'm buzzing, but I'm stuck. =/ The first time I'd reached the buzzing stage, was only about a month and a half ago, before I'd even read this topic. =/ I had no idea if that was actually supposed to happen or not. And, now I know it is. But, I still hate the fact that I'm stuck in my body.
I know the websites and you said to try and throw myself out and such, but again, it's always my actual body moving, not my astral self. Help?

I'm not sure it's something everyone can learn on their own. If you've beeen looking into it by yourself and have had no progress, it might be a good idea to find a knowledgable witch and have them initiate the projection.

I tried the other day and my eyelids started vibrarting really hard almost immediately, but I couldn't get the rest of me to. Is there any way to more evenly spread the vibrations across my body?

You can try relaxing each part of your body individually. Then once you're relaxed, it might work. I can get my entire self to vibrate and I feel as if I'm slightly out of my body, but I can never get all the way out. =/ I wish I knew how. I'll keep practicing though. ^_^

If someone said, 'Three years from now, you'd be long gone..."
Hmm. What are you supposed to do once you get out of you're body. Havent tried this yet.. But I was just wondering.
...I'd stand up and punch them out, cause they're all wrong.

@ Endless (sorry I forgot your real name): what ever you want to I guess... I have yet to do it, though I would think that once you do, you will know what to do. Or something like that.
I think I use to AP when I was a kid. I remember several nights when I would dream about floating over my bed while I was still in it. I don't know if this was a dream or not anymore.

I don't know much on astral projections. But I have felt those 'vibrations' before. Well I tried last night and it worked. BUT whenever I try to concentrate on the vibrations, my body starts to vibrate and buzz faster and faster. The buzzing starts to move sideways and up and down, and then I have this feeling that I want to move physically. My breathing starts to become uneven and then... That's when I lose the vibrations and I have to start all over again! It's harder the second time than the first! *SIGH* It is probably because I fear to step into the unknown or lack of concentration or something else....
When I was little I used to get those vibrations in bed at night after a long day full of physical activity. I vividly remember that I was running but I wasn't moving my legs. It was so strange but I remember liking the buzzing. ^_^
Erm. I've heard that 'actual' astral projection is painful or something...but i don't know what an 'actual' astral projection is because I've never experienced it. Some say that drinking liquid infused with herbs are helpful. But.... I have no idea if that's true.

Oh my gosh! That's what happens to me also! xp I start to vibrate, then I concentrate on it, which it then becomes even faster, and I feel like I'm spinning and buzzing, but then all of a sudden, it just stops. But me, I'm not afraid of it, at all. I've been trying to astral project for months now. But it's not working. I want to so badly, but this is all that ever happens. =/
If anyone wants to help us out, that'd be great. lol.
