"I dunno. Maybe people take really short naps?" The woodpecker offered, laughing and giving his friends shoulder a faint shrug. "I just asked why places would offer by the hour and Shiniee gave me this Look - y'knw, something between a glare and frustration - and just said I should never go there. I think one day I will. Just to see. Not yet but..."
He tapered off with a short laugh as they moved towards the park. Iamel had always liked the park - it was sunny and nice when he was there. And since it was dark out, and few wanted to go 'outside' in the dark, he could only assume they'd be uninterrupted, un stared at there.
The fluttery ness only worsened and the woodpecker made sure to later ask his Shiniee what they were. Did he get them from kissing anyone? Because he kissed Shiniees cheek this morning and it didn't do anything....
Xaxis' reply made the red eyes slide over to his friend, lips folding into a grin, the lip ring glinting in the night. "Okay," He agreed. This could be an experiment with fluttery thingies. The part loomed ahead of them, a swing set, playground, open grass and trees abound.
"Playground has more places to hide from eyes. Grass and trees have less... plastic." Iamels eyebrows quirked faintly. "Where d'ya wanna go?"

Xaxis was still clueless when it came to hour-hotels, but he didn't press the matter any further. It was obvious Iamel was as much in the dark about them as he was, so it was better to just let the topic rest.
Paying to take an hour nap seemed ridiculous, but then, humans seemed notorious for ridiculous ideas.
As the pair reached the park, Xaxis didn't hesitate to lead Iamel over to the playground. He'd played on the plastic time and time again - the slides, the swings, the see-saw. "It all looks so small now," Xaxis noted, mildly surprised. Sure, they were taller, but . . . but had they all really been so small? The jungle gym in the center, once a looming tower of doom, was now . . . a bunch of logs stacked on top of one another, with a measly net to climb up the side.
The fear was lost as Xaxis realized he could probably scale the gym with one good leap.
How discouraging.
"Let's go chill on the metal," he chirrped, keeping Iamel close for attention and warmth, guiding the orange-haired one over to the merry-go-round. It was small, metal, but large enough to fit adults and children alike.
Taking a careful seat on the edge of the contraption, Xaxis grinned in a moments of childish delight. There was something to be said about hanging out at an abandoned park in the middle of the night. "This is kind of nice."
The only thing that would make it better was if it were a bit warmer. Fall was fast approaching, and that did NOT please the raven.

He let himself be led towards the playground. Part of Iamel was relieved - the grass was shiny - wet. He didn't want his pants getting ruined by some mud and water. It'd make him sad. And at least the playground had some form of hiding from people...
Iamel didn't like people. Not at all.
The woodpecker flopped next to his friend, rubbing gently up and down his arm, eyebrows arched. "You have pricklies on your arm, Xaxis," Iamel noted, fingers petting at the raised bits of Raven flesh.
His head tilted on the others slightly, lips pressed just vaguely against Xaxis' temple. Iamel had seen his shiniee do that before, when someone was sick or upset. It helped.
...well, and Xaxis SAID he could kiss, so he was allowed to.

Xaxis gave a gentle smile, lips curling in a slightly self-conscious smile. "Well, it is a bit chilly out," he explained, reaching a hand over to touch Iamel's cheek. His hands were like ice, but that wasn't surprising when it came to the raven.
If he wasn't suffering a fever, he was suffering the chills. And if he wasn't so sick he was curled up in bed, then he was at least fighting off some sort of incurable cold. Thankfully, his illnesses hadn't leaked over to his Kin, so Xaxis could only assume he was only contagious to himself.
"Aren't you cold?" He asked, quirking a delicate brow at his friend. He turned his head, trying to get a better look at his friend, but not pulling away from their closeness.
There was something . . . nice . . .about being so close to another person. It made the raven want to . . . cuddle.
A little laugh, and a wink, "I'm using you horribly, Iamel. You're a good man when it comes to providing body-heat..." A pause, ". . . and kisses."
Well, it was true wasn't it?
Xaxis hadn't been kissed by anybody, so even if Iamel hadn't been good at kisses, he'd still win by default. As it was, Xaxis had no experience, therefor the one kiss he'd been given was the absolute best.
That was just the way of things, at least when it came to the raven.

"Not really. Shiniee keeps the house cold so no one can b***h or run around naked." He grinned, leaning into the hand with a soft little murmur. He liked to be touched, especially gently. It made him happy. Made him feel wanted, even though for different reasons then many.
"I'm used to the cold," Iamel explained against his hand, red eyes sliding up to catch Xaxis', lips quirking into another grin. "You're allowed to use me. Promise. I won't get bad."
The woodpecker was contented. He 'fluffed' himself up slightly, and eyebrow arching slightly. "I've provided you with a kiss. Not kisses." Not yet. "We could work on that, though."
When his last word left his mouth, Iamels head tilted, lips brushing gently against Xaxis' own. There was a minute hesitation before he leaned in closer, pressing firmer against the others lips. If Xaxis wanted to skirt away, he would. No harm. No foul.

The raven had to grin at Iamel's words - he'd visited Patrick and Catbitche's home a time or two, and had always been quietly amazed by the inner workings. So many children and babies and activity and life. So much stuff, it had always been a bit overwhelming for the raven.
Lucien and him . . . well. . . they didn't have a whole lot of anything. Lucien was a simple man, and the raven had been brought up simply. Xaxis couldn't imagine people running around naked in their apartment.... there wouldn't be enough room!
Snuggling a bit closer, (Iamel had said he could be used!) the black winged man crinkled his nose at the correction, chuckeling softly. "Well then kiss me again," he murmured, violet eyes sparkling with good humor, "Else you'll make a lier out of me."
Ah-HA! There! See?
As Iamel brushed his lips against his own, Xaxis refused to turn away. Oh no. Without people staring at them like they were pieces of meat, he could actually figure out this whole lip-to-lip contact. He leaned closer despite the butterflies in his stomach, assuring Iamel that this was the right thing to do.
Xaxis had never been one to enjoy chemistry or science, but today, tonight, he was gung-ho for experimentation.

Wouldn't want to make a liar out of him, now would he? Nope nope... Liars were never fun.
When the Raven didn't pull or turn away at the kiss, Iamels hand on Xaxis' arm tightened, just alittle. Xaxis was warm and pretty and kissing him made the little - now big - bird all the more warmer in the faint chill of the evening. His wings flexed slightly, fluttering briefly.
Iamel liked this kissing thing.
His lips parted just a wee bit, giving Xaxis' lower lip a playful bite. His friend was soft and cold... that would do no good, to be cold. So, keeping their lips in contant, Iamel twisted the other Bird and hauled him up, into his own lap. Janglies and all.

Xaxis hadn't expected to be shifted, and paused the kiss as he found himself pulled onto his friends lap. His surprise quickly faded as the jangly raven relaxed and settled.
Well, it was certainly better than sitting on cold metal! Besides, it was chilly out, and now they could keep each other warm. Plopped upon Iamel's lap, the raven extended one of his wings, wrapping it loosely around Iamel in a peace offering. It was only fair - if Xaxis could leech off his friends body heat, he could at least offer some warmth in return.
"Well isn't this cozy," the raven murmured, eyes bright with curiousity and delight. Not giving Iamel much of a time to answer, the raven recaptured the lips he'd momentarily lost, to give the kissing game one more go.
Cozy. Warm. Niiiice.
Xaxis could really get used to such friendly attention.
Ah yes - tonight was a good night indeed.

The darkness became darker with the others wing enveloped them on the little wheel of iron. He grinned a little at the murmur from Xaxis, lips parted and pressing up against him still.
He was warm. And Iamel LIKED this little game.
It was fun and not boring in the least - he liked that.
Teeth scrape against the ravens lower lip, tri-colored head pulling back with a soft lap. One hand was on Xaxis' back and the other was resting high on the janglie boys thigh.
Iamels fingers on Xaxis' thigh gave a soft squeeze, another kiss being placed on his neck. He saw his Shiniee doing that, before.

Being tall certainly had its benefits. Was this how all tall people were like? There was something pleasant about being this close to a dear friend. The raven didn't think he'd appreciate such gestures from anyone else BESIDES Iamel . . . or Savius. He didn't know Diacyn well enough (and the bald owl seemed too agressive to be much fun) and Rascir . . . well . . . Rascir would have to be all tall too before he could join in on the fun.
As his leg was squeezed and his neck kissed, the raven couldn't help but giggle, a tingle running up his spine. Burying his face sheepishly in Iamel's neck, sure his cheeks were still flushed pink, the raven nibbled amicably upon the woodpecker.
"Guess I'm a little ticklish," he responded, curled up happily upon the lanky woodpeckers lap.
Lucien was going to kill him if he ever found out, or so the raven was certain.
But be that as it may - Lucien wasn't here to find out about this game, now was he?
"So is this what you did with Savius when you met him?" The raven asked, impish smile crossing his pale lips. What a sight that would be!

Iamel knew Diacyn well enough. But to the woodpecker, the owl was still small. That would not be a Good thing. Nope. The giggle made him grin, laughing softly against the others skin.
Nibblings did not go unappreciated, head tilted. Iamels fingers turned from squeezing to tickling, brushing over the ravens thigh and up t his sides.
"Being ticklish isn't a bad thing," The tri-colored boy assured his friend, nibbling right back with a little laugh.
The others question made him pause and blink a few times. Eh? With Savius? "Nope. Savius and I had some ice cream with our little brothers an' he owes me a piggyback right." A crooked grin at that, nuzzling against his friends little ear. "We didn't kiss. He ruffled my hair though."

The raven squirmed in Iamel's lap as the other boys fingers ran up his leg and sides. So ticklish! So very, very ticklish! He bit back another giggle, tightening his grip on Iamel so he didn't squirm out of his friends lap and onto the ground!
"It's not bad, but it's certainly distracting~!" It was hard to be serious if one was writhing in a fit of giggles and snickers. The raven had never thought of himself as ticklish . . . but then again, he'd never really had the oppurtunity to be touched by another. It felt different, really, and the new sensation made the raven laugh.
He probably just needed to get used to the feeling.
"A piggyback ride?" Two violet eyes looked up at Iamel, surprise flashing through the orbs before changing into delight. "That's something, I guess." Xaxis didn't doubt Savius' ability to pick up Iamel - even though his friend was as tall as himself, Xaxis tried to imagine what the sword-weilding Kestrel looked like.
Big and broad and tall. Had to be. If Iamel was going to get on Savius' back, than the kestrel had to have shoulders to do it! Right? Right!
Maybe he'd give Xaxis a tote around town somewhere too! "We should have a party," the raven announced, wrapped his arms around Iamel's neck and looking his friend firmly in the eye.
Impulsively, he leaned forward and nibbled on Iamel's lip ring, a mischievious grin crossing his fingers. "It would be fun, wouldn't it? All of us tall ones together."
If he was having this much fun with Iamel, how much fun would he have with Savius AND Iamel AND Diacyn. . . well. . maybe Diaycn. Again, Xaxis just didn't feel he knew the snowy owl well enough to be so bold. But since he was Iamel's best-friend, and Iamel had good taste, Xaxis could only assume that the owl was (and would be) good to have around.

Iamel continued to tickle, fingers light on Xaxis' skin. He was squirming and there was little janglie noises and oh, the fun! He laughed, grinning widely as the other claimed it was distracting and wriggled more.
He wasn't too sure why, but he rather liked the wiggling.
His fingers paused when Xaxis asked about the piggy-back ride, lips curling into another smile, softer then his grin previous. "Mmmhmm. He didn't seem interested in kissing me. So there was a piggy-back ride involved. And Zombie was cute." Another reaffirmation that Zombie was cute with his nod and his arms moved around Xaxi's waist, pulling him closer. With the raen on his lap, Xaxis was taller then before, taller then Iamel.. it amused him.
The nibbling made him smile, head tilting up to kiss him again. Just because he could! "Well, I was thinkin' something like that. I'm really only friends with you and Savius and Diacyn... and we were all 'born' around the same time. Shiniee says people have birthdays, and we're almost a year old. We could have a birthday party for all of us? All four? I'm getting a tree house.. it's gonna be big and we can do it there?"

Xaxis' smile grew wide as Iamel talked about some sort of party, and a tree house, and all sorts of fun goodness. Birthdays? Hadn't Lucien mentioned that a few days ago? Birthday, birthday, birthday . . . Well, whatever the case, if there was going to be a party then Xaxis wanted to be there. So long as his friends were there, since he didn't really care too much for strangers save Kin.
"That sounds perfect!" Oh, a tree house - would that be like a nest? It had to be! Living in the city, the raven hadn't witnessed too many of them, but he'd seen pictures on the internet and had his imagination to fill in the blanks.
"I'm only really friends with you and Savius and . . . and I just haven't had a chance to really talk with Diacyn. But maybe if you have a party, I might get to talk with him." It would be nice - then the raptor squad would be complete. Everyone would really know everyone and really like everyone and life would be swell.
Keeping his arms wrapped around Iamel, burying himself a bit closer as a gust of wind danceda round the two, the raven gave a smile. It was nice to be friends with nice ones like Iamel, and Savius. They were growing, and changing, and everything just felt right. Good company to keep one warm, and good friends to hang out with.
Resting his head on his friends shoulder, the raven stifled a yawn. It was getting late, and the day was catching up with him. Not that Xaxis ever had a terrible amount of energy to spare to begin with. "So how late do you plan on staying out? I fear the night and cold are catching up with me."
