"I'm talking to the plant," Chami said, turning and laughing softly at the puzzlement on his face with good nature, "This little plant would've escaped me all day if I hadn't talked to you. It's hard to find this plant...Oh. You're not confusedabout that are you? It's about me talking to the plant. I guess..." The lioness mused and tilted her head to the side, "I guess you can say that I'm fond of plants and herbs, so fond that I like to talk to them."

Devunde frowned as if he didn't get it. He never talked to plants. Nor did his mother or anyone else he knew. This lioness had to have it wrong. You just didn't go about talking to plants when they didn't talk back and stuff. "That's silly," he said with a small frown of a puzzled child. "They can't say anything back...and it's not like you're a goddess of plants or anything." If she had been maybe it would have been acceptable. Maybe.

Chamiyu huffed her chest and gave a playful look of distaste, "What do you mean they don't talk back? Everything has a voice. The sky, the water, the earth, the trees...Everything has a voice. It's just that some voices are harder to hear than others. And some voices are quiet for a long time. Or sometimes, there are those voices that just can't stop! And even sometimes, we have lost to ability to hear some voices, so they remain silent to our ears forever."

Devunde just met her with a disbeliving stare. It seemed one so young as he wasn't so willing to be told what to believe...either that or he just really didn't understand what she meant. He sighed and shifted back to look out at the lake with his head bowed slightly, his messy, curly locks falling in his face. "Sure, ok," he grumbled, though he sounded unwilling. He just didn't want this to develope into a lecture. He got enough of those as it was.

Chamiyu grinned at the godling and she moved closer to him and bowed her head, "Believe what you want to believe. That's what you do best." And with that, Chamiyu reached into her basket and brought out a ripe fuzzy orange peach. Placing it before Devunde, the black lioness turned and began heading back to her den with Mteuli, worried about preparing dinner for her mate who would've been working tirelessly today.

Devunde stared at the strange object before him as she left. He peered over his shoulder carefully and when she was out of sight he bent down to sink his baby fangs into it with interest. Sweet juice met his taste buds and he felt his tail swish and shift in contentment. Mmmm...this was something new, but he liked it. Gnawing on his treat, he began to think maybe that wierd lioness wasn't so bad after all.
