Any true anime fan should watch the subs (I shall never say "otaku" as a word for an anime/manga fan! It's a rude word! xd )
That's why it pisses me off when my friends pronouce Kero-chan as "Kiro"... *shudder*. And Sakura, too. It's not "Sa-KU-ra" it's just "Sakura".. moving on.
I prefer the Fai spelling but I've gotten so used to reading 'Fay' as 'Fai' that I don't mind.

Ugh, I remember when I first watched these tapes of Card Captors and they pronounced "Sakura" like "se-kyu-ruh." D: EWWW. I pronounced it like that for the longest time because I didn't know any better... sweatdrop

My favorite spelling is FAI! But I could only get "Fye" in my username. sweatdrop
rofl
Everytime I see it spelled "Fay" I think of Faye from Cowboy Bebop...and that is a very different (yet still sexy) person.
And I've always had a difficult time spelling Syaoran. XD I love his Chinese name!!! (I have trouble spelling that too XD) I'm just getting used to writing Syaoran correctly. It comes and goes...

For some reason, I've always been able to spell characters names perfectly. I just have a hard time pronouncing them until I hear them on the anime. Fai was always rhyming with eye though. Because if it were to be Fei, like my friend says it, It would be spelt that way. I used to say Syaoran like see-ow-er-on. Like awful. Suhkura Uhhh...who else did I have a problem with... I'll think of it...XP

I used to pronounced Kurogane as Kuro-gain. Because I was a very, very, very ignorant obsessive Inuyasha-dub fangirl at that time.
Not that I am anymore, it wears off after four years or so. >>
It bugs the crap out of my when my best friend and her sister constantly pronounce 'Sakura' as 'SaKUra' and 'Naruto' as 'NaRUto'. I have to constantly lecture them and then they go 'Yeah, well, we're American/Canadian, so we'll pronounce it that way' and then I have to stop myself from giving them a huge lecture on how that goes against certain religions -ahem mine- and how people (who the least of which is me) might get offended by that. And then later, the sister gave ME this huge lecture about how when I was saying 'desu' I cut it off just like 'des' and she was saying that I was messing up and crap and I'm just like '-_- That's how they friggin' pronounce it!' and she was just like, 'Yeah, right -rolls eyes-' and...I'm rambling. So sorry~~! v_v
Yes, I have 'made up' my religion. xD I just need to finish setting up my shrine to the goddess of cosplay...

I was so used to watching the actual version of CCS, when I first heard it in English, I almost pueked. One, their voices sound utterly ridiculous and Two, the pronounciations and the name changes were the weirdest! I mean, JULIAN??? And TORI??? What the hell are they thinking??
I've always prounounced Sakura the correct way.. But I used to prounounced Syaoran "Sy-a-o-ran" Pathetic, I know, huh. I've gotten over it though.

I think that those who are on crusades to get all anime fans to watch subs/dubs are a little off track.
First-there are those anime fans out there who have to watch everything they do watch on mainstream TV channels-whether it be 4kids, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network(is that a channel? Forgive me, I'm not very good with US ones), heck, even YTV, it's the only anime they can get. You might as well take what you can. So what if they watch Inuyasha, Naruto, FMA, Bleach, Eureka 7, Beyblade, Zatch Bell, and One Piece? They're still anime fans. Sure, you may watch direct download Death Note, and they watch dubbed versions of Beyblade, but you and them are still anime fans. You're essentially the same.[/endrant]
Honestly, to me, the CCS dub was so horrible, I just utterly gave up on trying to find a way to watch it-and that was after watching half an episode on a friend's taped thing. To be honest, I watched the whole thing in Chinese. ^^; I understood most of it...the only thing that tripped me up was Yue. In Chinese, Yue is pronounced sorta like...'Yweh', different from the Japanese 'Yu-eh'. So that messed me up for a while, and I was thinking, while talking about CCS, 'Yue? How do I pronounce that?' I finally learned that it was pronounced the second way I mentioned AFTER I watched the second movie. TT-TT
Okay, okay, so what if I was in Grade five at that time?

Hm, am I the only one who wonders where the hell CLAMP came up with the romanization of Syaoran? I mean, they use the kanji to write it, but when they separate it they spell it "shi-a-" and then I don't know the rest because Sakura stopped talking. sweatdrop But still, where'd the y come from? X_x Couldn't they have just left it Xiao?
And who else here likes to spell it "Touya" and "Hiiragizawa" and "Yuuko?" :3
