I wanted to read the book first, but I knew that would take forever.

I don't really have a story to tell or a pretty picture to share but I can tell you all what inspires me to draw and that is the art of others. We all started out by copying the art of others be it how to draw in the anime/manga style or how to draw a cloud. Dreams only provide a small portion of inspiration. If you're interested in reading more about a particular dream that inspired me to draw a particular series of drawings then find my comment here

L33t_demon My dreams are a big inspiration to me.Characters and ideas swirl in my head at night! I totally agree. I make up some characters, go to sleep, and if I remember my dream, put the characters in that scenario. For the rest of my post I will ramble. So if you don't like rambling, stay away.There was this one dream I had of everyone in my school living in trees. And the farther you go, the uglier the trees get. (and dead...er). And I had this other dream where I was walking on a beach with my friend, and I saw a wallet on the shore. Then I shouted "OMFG IT'S MY WALLET!" And I check my pocket and my wallet's not there. Then I went to some weird school and the teacher made me draw, and gave me questions for the picture, but the questions didn't make sense D:, so I failed. Another dream was about my after-school, which is for percussion practice (yes I'm a band geek.) And my teacher gave a math worksheet and I put down random numbers, then I failed and he yelled at me and said "Why did you put random numbers?!" And then I asked one of my classmates, and the more I learned how to answer the worksheet, the more I realized it didn't make sense. And when I finally said in my dream "This doesn't make sense." I woke up @_@. My dreams don't make sense. My friend's dreams always has to do with an amusement park and her grandma O_o. Rambling ova.

Well your dreams are pretty odd. But they seem there you know...? Like kind of to the point and a bit blunt.
Hm...What inspires me...I'd have to say a lot of the manga I read does. But mainly Oh My Goddess (or Ah My Goddess for you picky people).

Actually, your dreams sound pretty similar to mine.
I can't say that my dreams inspire me to draw, though,
mostly because the topics or scenes in my dreams
do not inspire me (and that's what this topic's all about).
As for what does inspire me?
Random acts of kindess... colorful things... pretty things.
I'd like to share specific images but I'm too lazy.

That's quite a diverse grouping, eh?
Those are, like, three major extremes,
and I love all of them equally.
There is a beautiful symbiosis in seeing these three artists portrayed together here.
Ah, that is another aspect which inspires me...
Harmony... concepts and ideas working together, in juxtaposition and yet in balance.
