I heard somewhere that later on there will be more colours available, I'm holding off for that. Orange Shiny Wii FTW whee I read more on the VC and the idea seems pretty lousy, sure we get to play our fave games again with a cool funky wireless remote but its 5 bucks for NES, 10 bucks for SNES, and 15-18 for N64? We can get a better deal than that buying the real carts, plus you can only hold so much on the 512 mb memory the system gives you, so you would have to be picky. I heard you can erase them and get them again later at no extra cost but that means keeping tabs on what you have and don't have so hacking would be more difficult >_>

I agree with you there, Jin.
The VC prices are ridiculous. However, it's handy for hard to get games, like Mystical Ninja and Mystical Ninja 2 for the N64. 3nodding
I would prefer either the black or white Wii console, but any color will do, really. I'm not picky.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't like the design for the PS3? I think it's kinda ugly. confused

For Mystical Ninja and hard to find gems then yes its a good price (other ones that have a ridiculous price on ebay/stores are super mario rpg and ninja gaiden trilogy for SNES or Ogre Battle for N64) If they come out on VC then I will definetly get them whee as for the colour....I'm gonna see if they come out with a new colour, and I heard somebody mention something about a later edition with more features but that could've been sarcasm. As for the PS3, I heard some people compare it to the George Foreman grill a bunch of times rofl But as Master shake from ATHF says, "it's ugly as hell but it gets the job done!" 3nodding

I don't mind the prices all that much. I won't be able to get as many games as I would like, but in the end I'll probably only get the ones I would get my money out of anyway.

Earlier MindMage made a point about how the price of a console typically doesn't lower until A) a certain period of time has passed (it seems to vary by lucrativity) or B) the demand for said console has significantly decreased for some reason. In either case, even if the price of a console remains the same, it's still a good idea to wait before buying because as time passes, more games are released, meaning...
1. ...you'll have a better idea of which genres will be predominantly featured on each system (it does change; the Nintendo 64 had almost no RPGs and the GameCube had [ports of] great games like Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, and Phantasy Star Online).
2. ...you won't be stuck with a system you only like one game for.
3. ...best-selling games will have reduced prices.
It's pretty obvious that I'm going to wait for the Wii, but I have another, more specific reason: I reserved Twilight Princess for the GameCube, and the only other games I want right now are Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Sonic and the Magic Rings (or whatever they call Sonic Wild Fire now). I don't buy a system when I only plan on buying two games for it.

Damn that Wii, that and it's incredibly low price!
I think I'll officially be purchasing a Nintendo Wii first and then in exactly one year I'll get the Playstation 3. If I have any coins left over I'll buy an Xbox 360, unless Dead Rising is made on the PS3.
So have you guys made up your minds yet?

I'll be getting the Wii for certain. What is currently uncertain is when I'll be getting one. It's possible that I'll have some money by December, so I might pick it up around then, but if not, then it's going to have to wait.

I think I'll officially be purchasing a Nintendo Wii first and then in exactly one year I'll get the Playstation 3. If I have any coins left over I'll buy an Xbox 360, unless Dead Rising is made on the PS3.

They might make Dead Rising for PS3, as some sort of Directors Cut like with Resident Evil....remember Capcom is a Japanese company and they fold easily to Japanese demand 3nodding I'll be pretty sure to get PS3. As high a price it may be, I am almost certain it will have the best games. The Wii is my second choice but gotta see if its as awesome as it sounds and what kinda games it will have. As awesome as 1st party publishers may be, you gotta have a good 3rd party support to make it in the videogame business.
