really i think it up to the person now days. i have asked that question on my wiccan sites and even to all my friends that are wiccan and they come up with the 50/50 answer both have thier pros and cons so i find it best to pick one that calls to you more. do what your heart tells you and what feels right to you, thats what i love about wicca you can question it and change it to an extent to where you feel it in you heart that you are right and the Goddess and God are proud of you for over coming something. also with out the fear of getting struck by lightining. 3nodding

dark_angel_32189 I use both actually, but I use "magic" more often than "magick". I don't know why.... that's just the way I am. I don't know why, but I thought you would be more of a 'magic' person, rather than a 'magick' person. smile

wolfsbanemoon [Helmorana] This reminds me of an ongoing argument I have with 2 friends of mine. We've been (jokingly) arguing about the same thing every time we see eachother for the past year and a half. One of them is a Manowar fan and the other one is a Hammerfall fan... They love them and I think the bands are cheesy and gay... And we're all really stubborn. sweatdrop It's strange, the different perceptions of things. What prevents the word being cheap for you is what makes it cheap for me. confused Same with those two, the exact same thing that they adore in Manowar&Hammerfall is the thing I hate most. Erm, please don't use "gay" as an insult in front of me? I'm kinda sick of it, and I really think it ought to be stopped... sweatdrop I don't mind it. My homosexual friends don't mind it... And it's not an insult, it's just a description. Means the same thing as "cheesy"... When it comes to talking about metal around here anyway. Even if it were, words get different meanings through time.

[Helmorana] I suppose you meant essence. Why that term? because i beleave that (oh i hate this word) the "power" needed for spells is within us therefore i say essence [Helmorana] wolfsbanemoon [Helmorana] This reminds me of an ongoing argument I have with 2 friends of mine. darkrock64 Helmorana Even if it were, words get different meanings through time.actualy gay means happy and quire means wierd in proper english look it up and ull see Modern English newsflash: Gay - a.) a homosexual, usually a male, often also used for a female b.) around here, something cheesy... I believe the term became used for that because of the local gays, very cheesy, stereotipical male homosexuals. And it's queer, not quire. There should be a topic to anwser all the offtopics in sweatdrop

darkrock64 ok so my english is not as good as my french but i cant help it i was born french so sue me. Really? Where? Either way...
Je suis désolée pas. Je sais l'anglais est très difficile pour les gens Français, je connais seulement un Français qui parlais bon anglais, mais...
I correct people and I expect the same from them, if nobody corrects you then you keep making the same mistakes over and over again. And back on topic... Do you think calling things with different words that have the same meaning has any effect? Do you chose your words carefully? Do you always think before you speak? Never lie? "Keep your words in good order"?

There should be a topic to anwser all the offtopics in sweatdrop ok so my english is not as good as my french but i cant help it i was born french so sue me. Gay originally ment happy, but it has evoloved. And, actually, so has the term 'queer' (which did originally mean strange), though the usage of that term to refer to a homosexual may be a southern thing. How about you two agree to disagree. Please don't use the term 'gay' to mean stupid, that's similar to using the term 'cracker' (which is an almost degradory term referring to a white person, also a southern term) as a synonym for stupid or uneducated. I don't have any intention of changing the way you speak, but I personally think it's rude, and there are better words to use. So I'm not completely off-topic: I use the term magick, but that's because I understand where it came from (I don't completely agree with all the guy's opinions, but whatever), and a lot of people understand that it is spelled that way to refer to the religious magick, and prevents unneccesary explanation. Also, I dabble in stage magic, with card tricks, sleight-of-hand, and other such illusions, and it's another way I focus on the 'now it's time for spell-casting', the same way some practicioners wear robes to perform magick, to keep the mundane and everyday worries and such away from the spiritual, and anything that might be detrimental to the spell outside the circle.

It's not just talking about stage magic, but illusionary magic in general... Quotes fly to mind, but I'm not sure of where from... Anyways, even if it is real magic, if it has no purpose or anything... (I'm sure I can word that better) Than they call it illusionary magic... I donno... I say Magick... Helps to clear things up... and it helps to give it distance in my mind from party tricks. Personal preference I suppose.
