She looked back at him as he spoke and followed him with her eyes as he advanced on her. The fear she used to feel was gone now and she kept her eyes levelled on his for a moment. Blinking she turned her head to the side as she collected herself at being so near him. Turning her void eyes back up to him she refused to allow herself the glimmer of a hope he offered her at his question.

"I wish I could take it back. I wish I had stayed and faced you like you deserved. And I wish that you would slip your hand into my hair and look at me the way you used to. But there is no point in wishing for things that will not come true. If I have learned anything from this, it is most definitely that," she replied steadily.

Mecca looked at her and listened. She really didn't get it did she. Pausing to glare at the floor only a moment he stormed over to her and slipped his hand into her hair and pulled her against him roughly.
"I just want you to be happy." He said, his voice low and unamused as ever. "Can't you just see that?"

"I can," she replied simply, her heart racing at the feel of his hand in her hair and his body against hers. She reached up and grasped his coat in her pale hands and kept her eyes on his. "And I do," she said pulling him down so his lips were close to hers. Searching his face for a moment, she smiled, genuinely smiled, for the first time in months. "And now I am," she smirked and closed the small space between them to kiss him deeply.

Mecca broke away from her before he was tempted to hurt her and looked into her eyes.
"But you must go back to him. If he knows you came here he will not be happy." He sighed and rested his head against her shoulder. "Is the statue really for necromancy?" He asked as his eyes fell on the object that sat on the table.

Covet opened her eyes as he pulled away and watched his stormy ones as he spoke. Smiling lightly as he sighed and rested his head on her shoulder, she kept herself pressed against him and closed her eyes as she thought about his words. His question drew a smile from her and she turned her head to nuzzle his neck lightly.

"Yes. If you recite the incantation etched on the bottom you can summon the power to drain the life out of your foes with a mere touch for a short time," she replied, quite proud of her research skills. It had not been easy to obtain such knowledge of such a powerful object. Slipping her arms around him, she entangled her fingers into his blood red hair to pull his head back so she could look into his eyes again.

"Come home with me."

Mecca listened to her and smiled. He had not been wrong about her talents. That was a very useful object indeed.
At her final words he laughed loudly and shook his head.
"I'm sure Matador would love that." He said with a bitter smirk. "You know I can't come back with you. If I even set foot in that town he's sure to me on my back. I like my peace."

Covet smirked at his laughter. That was something she had never heard before. Keeping the bemused expression on her face, she leaned forward to kiss him along his jaw.

"Come to Crescent City," she said again between kisses. "He can hardly fault you for living there. You are free to do as you wish and it was a home of sorts for you once," she said shifting to graze the skin of his neck with her teeth.

Mecca closed his eyes and twisted his hands up into her hair. Covet was the only shu who had ever taken a chance on him. The only one who had bothered to try and understand him. He wanted to be near her, but Crescent city was a big risk.
"It was, once." He said sighing. "And I suppose it could be again." He thought hard about it, licking his lips and digging his nails into her back. "If I move, do not let him know. He seems to think that I treat you badly. If he knows you are coming to see me, it really will be the end."

Covet whimpered softly as his nails dug into her back. She understood perfectly well what he meant. Matador had no clue of the obsession that had overtaken her these last two months. It wasn't that she was keeping it from him, but more that he just didn't need to know. She was no longer the child she once had been. That part of her had been burned to the ground with Taliesin's first residence. She no longer sought his approval and lived her life the way she saw fit, just as he continually told her she should do.

Tightening her grasp in his hair, she tugged back sharply and smirked. "What do you mean 'if'?" she asked, arching a purple brow as she held his eyes.

Mecca blinked as she yanked his hair back and dug his nails in harder.
"When." He said with a smirk to match hers. "When I come back." It woudl probably be better for business anyway. The inhabitants of Sagres were far too intellignet to scam and had little use for his kind of business.
"Though I would prefer Cephei, I'm sure I can oblige you."

Covet closed her eyes at the sharp pain that shot up her back and slowly opened them with a broader smirk on her lips at his concession. When he mentioned he would prefer Port Cephei, her smile softened and she tilted her head a little. She knew how much he loved being near the airdocks.

"I would settle for Cephei. I rather like making frequent trips to the sea," she smirked, releasing her hold on his hair and returning to nuzzling and nipping lightly at his neck.

"Then Cephei it is." He said taking her hand in his. "Maybe a slightly nicer part of the city. Maybe a house that could take some of this lot." He said gesturing to the books.

His usual cruel smirk crossed his lips when he thought about being back where he could do what he enjoyed most.
"Shall we go somewhere more comfortable?" He asked her, tugging her hair lightly. "This place is rather stuffy."

Covet glanced around at the books and could feel the ice melting away. Out of all the scenarios she had played out in her mind, this one had taken her by complete surprise. She had not expected this meeting to end in such a fashion.

"Please," she said softly, closing her eyes at the soft tug on her hair. Yet again he had given her everything she desired. He had forgiven her, allowed her speak, and had taken her back to that first night that had started everything with a simple word from her lips.

Mecca nodded and smirked.
"I think some of the rooms in this house would interest you." He said stepping away from her and closing the book that lay open on the table.
"Come," He said taking her hand in his. "I'll show you."
