"It's alright, it's alright, it's alright," Lefika assured her counterpart rapidly, in what she hoped was a reassuring tone. She wasn't used to having to reassure anyone, really. The older lioness couldn't help but stare. She felt like she was walking on eggshells around this girl, and was quite certain that Malika would snap if she kept the subject up. The more Lefika pushed it, the more nervous Malika seemed to get. Therefore, rather than try her luck, Lefika decided it best to change the subject entirely.
Glancing around herself at her surroundings, studying the land and desperately trying to find a subject for conversation, Lefika smiled meekly and inquired, "Whose lands are these, might I ask? I mean, do you live alone, or with a pride?" She hoped a discussion of family and community would help Malika feel a little more at ease.

Malika was extremely relieved when Lefika changed subjects. "These lands belong to Nyekundu, and I live with a pride, a small pride but a pride none the less." Replied the younger lioness. The young lioness was tempted to ask the same question however she had already asked the older lioness the question.
"I find that here I am much more happier than I have ever been although there are some people that try to make me thing otherwise." Her thoughts drifting to another lioness she had met not to long ago. "If I may ask, do you ever plan on settling down?"
Then the young lioness glanced up at the sky realizing that it was later than she thought. "Please excuse me but I must be going I have to meet someone." By someone she meant the princess and she bowed her head polietly and said "Thank you so very much for speaking with me it was a pleasure, I hope we meet again." And the she backed away turning before disappearing into the nearby trees.

Nyekundu...
Yes. The name was known to Lefika. It took her a while to place it. She knew shed heard it, but she couldn't think where. With enough thought, though, she knew what she'd heard about him. Suddenly this shady little grove felt even less safe than it had before. Lefika knew there was a reason she hated closed in places. Still, she wasn't going to let herself get scared. Fear was for the week. All the same, with knowledge of Nyekendu's reputation, she had no desire whatsoever to be upon his lands. "I see," was all Lefika had to say, and the steely expression she wore did not flicker, not even once.
Lefika was seeking out a path upon which to leave when she was asked another question. She smirked a little. "No," was her only reply. She had always been a creature of few words--maybe a little less so than usual, lately--but her utter desire to leave the place had brought back her true colors. It wasn't that she didn't like Malika; Malika seemed a very good-hearted lioness, albeit suspiciously paranoid. Lefika just didn't care for the place and what it seemed to be doing to Malika.
And then the lioness took her leave of Lefika on her own, and for that Lefika was glad. Recently Lefika had learned some rather basic manners, and though it may not have bothered her before, the new Lefika thought it would have been quite rude to up and take off on her company. But now all she had to do was smile and say, "I hope the same." With that, Lefika turned tail and eagerly went back from whence she came, back to meet up with Koda and head on their merry way.
