Isi frowned. "Pride rock? Is that what they call it?" Her silver eyes were on the horizon, beyond Jini. She could make out a rock.. But it wasn't that big. Just about as big as her paw, really. "How do you all live on such a small rock?" The lioness's eyes widened. Well, Jini seemed nice. She put a mental list in her head, with the three wonderful lions she had met. Thier were no such things as bad lions, from her point of view. She couldn't imagine a lion hurting another. "Really? That would be great! I'd be like a cub-watcher!" Isi grinned. "Alot.. I wouldn't have to watch all of them together, would I?" She couldn't imagine keeping her eye on alot, as he had put it.

"It's really big up close," Jini assured her with a bob of his head in a nod. His mane fell in his face again and he shook his head so he could see. Gah, he'd never get used to this! He, like Isi, found it hard to understand other lions hurting each other two. They had the same sort of mental track in that way. At her last question he blinked in surprise for a moment before laughing. It was a sweet, cute laugh and obviously a friendly one, "Ah...no! I think you'd drown...but perhaps by family you could watch them."

Isi nodded. She was a sweet, if very slow, lioness. "Ooohhh. Well..Hmm." How could it be small from here and big up there? It didn't make sense, but she acted as if it did. The lioness stood up from her sitting postition, stretching. A yawn escaped her jaws, before she sat down again. "Drown? Whats drown?" Isi cocked her head, having never actually been swimming before. She had walked across the river to get here, but it was incredibly shallow. "Oh.. so I look after a certain familiy's cubs, and then another, at different times?" Wow, Jini was smart! She would have never thought of that herself.

"Ah, yes!" Jini nodded with a bright smile. He almost looked cub-like himself, having such an adorable joyful face on. "That way it'll be fun and you won't feel too busy or have problems watching them." He paused, not really wanting to answer. It wasn't exactly a fun topic. So instead he muttered sheeply, "Ah...drowning? Well...don't worry about it...it's just an expression but...it's not fun." Definately not fun. Drowing was fatal. But he didn't want to ruin the present mood...nor did he want her to mistake his explaination into thinking you could die from cubs or somet such thing.

Isi grinned, silently thinking about how smart Jini was. She wished she could be smart enough to think that kinda stuff up. "Oh! Wow, thats a great idea!" Her tail curled neatly around her paws, and her silver eyes gleamed with content. "An expression.. Oh." Isi had no idea what an expression was, but she deicded to stay quiet. "So, it's not fun? It sounded like it wasn't.." Her eyes narrowed slightly, in thought. Why hadn't Jini told her what the expression meant? Oh well. It probably wasn't very important anyway.

Jini felt his ears pull back, feeling guilty. He knew it wasn't right not to explain it to her but...he hadn't meant for the conversation to turn like this. Drowning had nothing to do with what they were talking about. His body slumped shyly again due to his unsettled feelings. "Ah..yeah it's not fun...it's dangerous is all....I...It doesn't really have anything to do with cubs so...." His tail curled at his side nervously.

Isi cocked her head to one side, and looked at Jini. Why wouldn't he explain it to her? "Are you okay?" She asked, seeing his body slump. "Oh.. not fun. Yeah.. Why did you use it if it doesn't have anything to do with cubs..?" Her ears pressed against her head, her wiggling ways confined as she smelled his guilt. "So.. Uhm.. I was wondering.. Uh.." The lioness wanted him happy again, anything to cheer him up.. "Would you come with me to the king and queen and stuff? I don't want to get like, bitten by a hy-enur.." She made up the part about the hyenas, and ti was dreadfully obvious.

Jini chose to follow her lead as she turned the conversation to a happier, safer topic. He let out a small breath of relief, though he still looked a little unsettled. Tilting his head to one side he looked a little confused, though not unwilling. "Come with you....?" His ears flickered back and he flushed slightly in diffidence. "Well...I could take you there but...I'm not sure I should see the king or queen or anything..." In all honesty, he'd probably be way to shy to go visist such a high ranking person, even if only because he heard they were truly great people.

Isi grinned, though it was not as big and full as the previous ones. She was still a bit uncomfortable. What was 'drown'? Hmm. "Yes, come with me." The lioness smiled, and yawned slightly. "Why can't you see the queen or king?" Isi frowned. "I would be allowed to see them.. right?" What if she couldn't see them? She would never be a Pride lion or whatever. Worry showed on her face.

"Ah...well...I just...don't really want to..." He felt even sillier before, since she obviously thought she meant only certain people could see the king and queen. He was just horrible at getting his point across, wasn't he? "No...of course you can see them!" he assured her, lowering his green eyes sheepishly as he shifted from paw to paw. "I just...I'm really shy I guess so...I'm not sure I'd want to see them." It was odd, having to explain it like that.

Isi cocked her head and looked at him. Why was he so stuttery? Had she hurt his feeling? "Oh.. Thats good." She frowned. "Why are you shy?" The lioness knew of the word, it meant they didn't like to talk. "You're not shy.." Isi was sure of that, he talked lots to her! "Why are you shy..?" She asked again, oblivious to the fact that she had just asked it.

Jini flushed under his fur and quickly ducked his head apollogetically. "Ah...I-I'm sorry..." He fumbled, not sure how to explain why he was so shy. He wasn't sure he knew the answer. He had just always been this way, like his heart was tuned to be extra sensative to others. And since he never seemed to know how to act...he blundered about, seeming quite the idoit. "I...don't...really know...I'm sorry." He finished lamely, drooping his ears as his pathetic answer.

Isi drooped her ears, uncomfortable. "Why are you sorry?" She asked, innocently. What had he done wrong? Nothing. Right? The lioness stood up, and walked over to him, before plopping her slim body on the ground to his right. "Theres no reason to be sorry.. I don't think.. It's okay.." Isi silently added, 'I think' "Well.." She thought for a moment. "Would you not be shy if I was with you? I bet I could do the talking.. I don't know." The lioness shrugged.

Jini felt ashamed at what she probably saw as cowardice. What male was so shy he didn't want to go meet friendly leaders of a pride? What male was a jittery as he was? He really hadn't seen any. It had never bothered him when he was younger but...he was starting to become aware of how odd he truly was. But he wasn't sure what to do to change it.

"Ah...welll..." He shifted his paws, feeling a tad bit shyer to have her so close. "I suppose but...you're the one you wanted to talk with them...right?" He quickly added in a rushed tone, "N-not that I don't want to come and meet them or anything..."

Isi sighed. She was making him feel worse! "I'm sorry.." The lioness pressed her ears against her head, and her tail was almost between her legs. "You don't have to come." She smiled at him, trying to feel happy and bubbly again. Isi nodded, and a mature moment shone through her childish soul. "I know. I'm sure you can see them another time, you just don't want to see them this soon, right?" She half lied, to make him feel better. She was getting smarter.
