River stayed calm as the female snarled. She took her time to say anything, it was obvious that she was annoying the femme but right now that did not matter.
"I am curious. I met you and from that day on its been obvious that you have things that haunt you. Just by the way you walk and talk it is obvious that something is hurting you. I want to know what." She paused and took a deep breath before continuing.
"I have no intention to stop you doing anything unless it involved my family but I doubt that somehow. I want to know and help you if I can in anyway, or is that a crime, to want to help someone." She spoke slower that time. She was having to stay alert and think fast and all at once was tiring River, she wasn't use to this but she held strong, she had to.

She laughed, the sound dark and somewhat horrifying to listen to. If only River knew the workings of her mind, if only she knew...perhaps if she had she would have turned and left now but she had already asked and it was too late.
The world is a balance and in that balance there resides two halves. The good and the bad. It seemed she was fond of talking in metaphors. The scales that were once aligned have now tipped and shadow consumes the light. Her words were a hushed but dangerous whisper. The shadow weighs too much upon the light and soon the chain that holds it shall break, but there is hope. She let the words come slowly and ominously, pausing to build the tension.
I alone will take on this shadow, I will swing the balance back into light. I will rend the demons from the forest and in doing so serve justice.
She smirked, sitting straighter as she regarded her 'friend' through dark eyes, tell me River, would you want any part of a plot that involves killing? I think not.
She had answered River's question but at the same time she had not.

River wasn't one for riddles but she got the message before Ren spoke of killing.
"I asked to help you. I never put a boundary on how far that would go or not go." River watched Ren confused at how such a wise and clever wolf was at the same time so insane.
"If your quest is to kill then so be it, I still wish to help you." She stood by her statement, she may not know the reason for the killing but there was still something in Ren that she admired and always would.

Oh? Her ears perked a little, and how do you wish to help me on my quest? There is no reason for you to get involved. Those I hunt did not hurt you, these wounds are my own to bare. She gave an amused huff, and how will you aid me when you are with your pack and I am out in the world alone?
She stood then and raised her head to the moon above them, it's waxen surface reflected now in both of her eyes.
Would you help me with the killing? Would you be there at my side when we strike down upon the evil-doers? She truly, truly believed her children were evil. Poor delusional Ren.

"I don't have a pack, I told you, I left." River didn't move as Ren stood up, why would she? River was most likely stronger and faster then Ren, she had no fear of the other.
"If they hurt you and are evil surely it would be doing a duty to help you kill. So yes I would help you." River was loyal and had never gone back on her word before so why would she now? In truth River was worried that Ren would get badly hurt if not killed in her condition which is one of the reasons she was following her.

You may not have a pack yet, but you will do eventually, you are a pack creature, you are not suited for being alone. That much is clear to me. I do not doubt that if we encounter a pack on our way you would consider joining. She shrugged, but I am used to betrayal and it shall make no difference to my heart now.
She eyed the other female, searching her face for signs of genuine loyalty. Sirena would never admit it but she had been worried about the declining state of her body and atleast with someone stronger around she would be less vulnerable to attacks.
Her body was aged now so that she no longer went into heat to attract lusty males but she knew that being in the wrong place at the wrong time could also be deadly. If she met with a wolf eager to prove his or her strength then Sirena would be done for - that or forced to wait longer to heal.
Then consider yourself an ally River. She smiled, an honour to be sure since I have not found allegiance in anyone for two years now. Not since the death of her mate and before that, her mother.
Are you ready now? We must make haste before the moon dips too far. There is a den I know of not too far off. If you must part ways with me for a while I should meet you there.

Ren did not lie, River was a pack creature but she had friends back home who she would return to before even thinking of joining another pack.
River nearly smiled as Ren said that she was an ally, however she let the shock go to one side as she listened to what else the female said. River did let a smile crawl across her maw as Ren spoke of not having anyone for two years, she bowed her head as she continued to listen.
"I don't have to part ways. Koen knows that I will be gone for a while. I shall follow you." River bowed her head, Ren was her alpha now, or at least that would be how River viewed her, a friend and an Alpha.

And how did Sirena view River?
Well lets just say the younger female would be ally and bodyguard. Now with two of them on the hunt they could not fail. Not ever and with this in her mind Sirena knew she would sleep well that night.
With a small nod of her head she took off across the grass, her gait springy and stealthy as she trotted beneath the trees.
The den they were heading to had been her home for a long while - before she had even met Kafara - and it was here she would return briefly to rest, gather some plans and continue onwards.
She would find the sinners and she would destroy them.
