... FindingPRP Kyrianna: Black Kyocho: Green
Twigs! -----------
Man. The minute Matilda returns and another wand was found. This time? A TWIG. That's right - a simple twig with damned leaves that she risked her life for. Why? Because, well, she had to.
Damn, damn, damn. Sighing, Ianna leaned against the desk and closed her eyes. Coailiann was somewhat grounded at the moment so she wasn't able to be there to entertain her. Now it was just time for her to sit and wait for whatever Guardian it was that was supposed to have the twig to show up.
Whenever that would be, anyway. Sigh.
Perhaps they'd show up soon...
Kyo sighed. It's been quite some time that he arrived here at the Head quarters. Wandering the many hall ways. So far he met a few of the already owners. "Ghosts.. psh.." Kyo slammed his fist on his forehead, "All I want is the way out of this place!" Kyo sighed. Remembering the time he broke the lamp a while back. Making a mental note to apologize to the owner of this place and make some kind of payment or something...
"I think..." Kyo placed his hand on the door knob. Opening it up a familiar setting came into view. It was the main entrance, the one place with the portal. "Finally!" Kyo smirked, turning his head to see a woman out of the corner of his eye. "Do you run this place?" The elf stepped up to the desk, trying to grab her attention.
Ianna blinked and raised a brow. He'd entered from her HOUSE? Well. That was different. How the ******** did he get in there? Nonetheless, Ianna turned her head to look at him.
"Yes. And how did you get in my house?"
A little more snappy than she'd normally go for, but hey, it was her house. Her children lived there...and that was a stranger. Of course, the droll voice of Matilda came up in the back of her head.
Guardian.
"Argh, this person?"
Yes.
A slight tingly feeling developed in his nose. The dust covering the room began to take it’s toll. “Ah..Ah… Ahchoo!” Kyo pulled a tissue from his back pocket and wiped his nose. “Sorry..”
"I came in quite some time ago... and met up with some of the people here," Kyo shook his head and raised his eye brow confused. Hearing the woman commune to herself. What kind of person talks to themselves?
Kyo shook his head again. Ignoring the fact. "Anyways back to the point, there was this ghost in there belonging to a person named Neveah. Well it kind of freaked me out and I accidentally back up and into a lamp," Kyo sighed once again. "I broke it I'm sorry!"
"I don't care about any lamps," Ianna said, narrowing her eyes slightly, "What I do care about is you being in my house - how long? - and not having the courtesy to find the owner and say hello."
Play nice.
"I AM playing nice, you stupid little --" She was cut off, mouth moving a few times as Matilda had silenced her. Great.
Just like her daughter to return with a few new powers. Lovely.
I said, play nice.
Ianna sighed, "Sorry. I'm a bit irritable. But you would be too if a tree almost ate you!"
Kyo backed away slightly. "I don't really know what’s going on here," Kyo raised an eye brow. Almost tripping over his feet as he stepped away. Obviously nervous and scared from this place. "All I know is that I touched the door and I came in here and something called to me and then I started to wander then these ghost things started to come from every where," The elf stopped and took a deep breath, "and now I finally found the way out and here I am..." Kyo stared down at the floor.
"I'm sorry I didn't know this was your home!" The elf flopped onto the floor and sighed.
"How could a tree eat you? Tree's don't live like that any mo.." Kyo stopped himself before telling to much.
"Oh, they don't? I can prove differently," she pulled out the large, leather bound book and thumped it onto the desk. Silver eyes moved back to lock on Kyocho and she half smiled.
"Go ahead, take a look. It won't bite," though in this place it wasn't entirely true. Some books really DID bite...
The minute that Kyocho touched the book, an invisible wind picked up in the shop, blowing the cover open, pages rustling and blowing about until it landed on a well worn page. On the page was a sketch (though beautifully DETAILED) of a plain...twig. Or, a twig wand. Below it read:
"Treant. Wand ID 00033. A Soul has been trapped within the confines of the wand. Congratulations, you have become the next guardian to take on the task of raising it from infancy to greatness. We, Ianna and I, have the upmost faith in you to complete your task dutifully. Best of luck,
Matilda."
The elf scrambled on the floor, crawling slowly toward the desk as he watched the book land on it's top. Lifting himself up with the assistance of the desk, Kyo stared at the book. Moving his right hand closer and closer, but pulled it away.
Something called him back... drawing him in. The elf reached out once more. A wind picked up blowing over his body and through the strands of his hair. The cover and the pages of the book began to move and flip one over the other. Until it landed on something.
It was a page with a twig like wand on it. Kyo began to read the words. "A real Treant?" The elf was flabbergasted. The elf reached out to touch the page. "Who is Matilda?" Kyo looked at the woman who he presumed was Ianna.
"Yep." Ianna said, somewhat cheerfully this time. He seemed to be taking it decently well for someone who had just been told they were going to be a father. Or maybe it just hadn't hit him yet - she wasn't one to judge, really.
Sort of.
"Matilda is my daughter, and the one who was speaking to me earlier. I'm not crazy - she is, though."
Ha, Ha.
Kyo chuckled lightly. Something finally clicked in his head. "Wait.. wait a minute. I'm not the one who is being congratulated am I?" Kyo tilted his head slightly confused from everything. The elf began to scratch at his head. Nothing seemed to be sinking into his thick skull... well nothing really seems too right off the bat and seems to take quite a bit of time till he finally realizes what is going on.
Ah. He was dense, then! "Yes. You are. You're a father. To a Treant. Who is trapped in that wand," she pointed towards a twig laying on her desk. It didn't look much like a wand, but then again, Treants didn't look much like people, did they? Kind of suited.
"Of a real Treant?" Kyo eyes went large in size. Shock and a mixture of confusion overwhelmed him. Kyo moved his hand over near the actual twig lying on the desk. A deep warmth feeling was being emitted from something deeper than wood from the wand.
"Thank you..." The elf seemed to whisper, then all of a sudden the memories of the broken lamp came back into mind. "There has to be something I can do for the broken lamp.."
"Just take care of that kid," Ianna answered, tilting her head, "Take the wand, guard it. It already died once, it deserves it's second chance at life, don't you think?"
The woman once more indicated to the wand on the desk, "I don't need to show you the headquarters since you're already apparently aquainted. So unless you have another question, you can come back later and meet more of the other Guardians."
The elf took the wand into his hands and brought it close to his face and took a closer inspection. With a affirmative nod. "I believe that’s true, but how did he die?" Kyo seemed to whisper the last part. The elf turned and began to wander off.
"Thanks again, I'm going to go back in. I noticed there was a library and I was wondering if I could use the books?" Kyo stopped. Half way between the desk and the door he used before.
The moment Kyocho touched the wand a warm beating pulse and a flash of light could be felt and seen. It lasted only a split second, but it was there. It seemed that the elf had been acknowledged.
"Well," she started, "I'm not sure. It's something only they will know and it won't be until later. The headquarters is always open to you."
The elf turned his head and eyed the woman. Giving a half smile, but his eyes filled with uncertainty. Mostly about what had happened. How did this Treant die?
Kyo placed his hand once again on the door knob and headed off for the library. Ready to expect the unexpected and this new adventure he was heading into.

... Feelings
It was a mixture of feelings really. Kyo the young elf who just barely became a father of a wand that held a Treant deep inside. The elf held the wand in his hands as if was a precious momentum.
Bringing the twig up to his face the elf began to scan the wand up and down. Looking closely at the bark, the lines, the leaves, and branches. Examining everything. "It looks like a branch off of an Oak tree!" The elf nodded feeling a sense of pride in the Elvin teachings he had received.
Keeping a strong mind and thought that one can not know everything. The elf headed off and kept his path to the library. He had to learn as much as he possibly can about Treants.
"I believe I should feel proud and excited for having you be placed in my care, and I really do!" Kyo seemed to be talking to himself, but really was talking to the wand. "I just hope I can care for you, I haven’t had this kind of responsibility placed in my care, but I think I can do it!" The elf nodded and pressed on.
“Anyways… that woman was really weird!” The elf’s laughs echoed through the hallways.

PRP The More You Know! ------------------------------- "Ba ba ba ba BA BA BA BA BA!"
Dixie had only had about eight hours of silence since Alek had grown, and those eight hours had been while the baby was sleeping. Right now, Alek was using his wand as a drumstick, beating his mother's shoulder and singing a truly dischordant song. His ear for music had temporarily left him since he had gained a body, but he was using all of his free time to get back up to par.
"We're going into the li-brare-ee now," she explained. "You can't sing here. Everyone in the library is quiet."
Alek stopped singing at his mother's serious tone and stared at her moving lips.
"Shhhh."
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
Dixie hoped that this stretch of silence would last as she pulled open the door and stepped inside.
Books began to slam on the ground as the young elf began to search and search over again. It had to be here... somewhere right? The book that was strictly about Treants. Kyo had a feeling the book would be here... so that’s why he was searching.
Looking down at the protruding wand beneath his shirt. The elf sighed in disappointment at how long this was taking. Shaking his head back and forth, his hair began to mess up. From a distance it would look like the elf was actually at home here. It was true, the place reminded him much of his past home.
"Come out come out... where ever you are!" Kyo whispered from atop of the latter on the first floor. Yet had the elf explored out onto the second floor of books.
Once they were inside, Alek had a clear view of the manic elf that was throwing books around. If this guy could make this much noise, surely a couple of songs wouldn't make anyone mad. He rested his head on his mother's shoulder and began humming softly.
"Hey... uh... do you need help with anything?" Dixie asked, looking up at Kyo. She was far from a librarian, but if he was looking for something in particular, two sets of eyes were probably better than one.
Startled, Kyo practically fell backwards off the latter and right on to his bottom. Jumping up the elf quickly rubbed at his sore spot. "Ooowie.."
Quickly dusting himself off. Kyo slowly straightened himself out and stared at the woman blankly.
"Oh um... It's nothing," Kyo nodded, lying basically. Trying to keep this book finding strictly to be done by himself. More of a pride and determination thing really.
"My name is Kyo by the way!" The elf managed to stutter beneath his labored breathing. "I'm sorry if I was causing to much noise!"
Dixie jumped back and winced as the man fell and landed in front of her. She might have tried to catch him, but she was holding a baby and she couldn't bring herself to drop him, no matter how annoying he was.
"I'm Dixie," she said after the elf had composed himself. "And this is Aleksandr."
Alek looked at Dixie when she said his name and then back at Kyo. "B b b," he said.
"So umm... why are you all the way out here?" Kyo tilted his head, remembering the walk he had just to get here. Well to him it took a while since he got lost the first time, but he seemed to have some natural way navigating around now. Kyo began to start picking up the book he had dropped... most of them on accident... some because he was frustrated.
"I was looking for some kids' books," Dixie said. "We've got a lot at home, but I read them all when I was small and they were pretty bad. Maybe they're all like that." She looked around at the titles on nearby spines and shrugged. "This section doesn't look like it's going to help me at all."
She watched Kyo pick up a couple of books before saying, "Do you need a hand with that?" Dixie leaned over to put Alek on the floor, but he grabbed her shirt in his fist and appeared to not want to let go. Well, at least she had offered.
"Oh umm.. no I caused this mess so I should take care of it my self, but thanks for offering!" The elf nodded, then suddenly he realized the wand was still in his shirt pocket, but he truly never forgot about it. Reaching into his shirt Kyo retrieved his prized possession and grasped it in his frail elf hand.
"I'll take care of it before I leave!" The elf nodded. "So umm.. I noticed there are a lot of people here with wands. What is Aleksandr?" Kyo nodded, not knowing much other than Elvin legends.
Upon seeing Kyo's wand, Alek stuck his fist out, proudly displaying his own. It was thinner than it had appeared when he had been tethered to it, but the always-ripe grapes still dangled from the end. He figured this was all he needed to say on the matter, so he kept silent.
"He's a ljeschi," Dixie said, mangling the slavic word. "A satyr basically." She would have turned him around to show Kyo his tail, but Alek was being so well behaved and she didn't want to ruin it. "Do you know what yours is?" she asked.
"A Satyr? How interesting!" The elf rubbed at his chin. "My wand is going to be a Treant, I'm already starting to think of a name that would fit for it perfectly!" Kyo said proudly.
"The type of wood this wand is made of is from an Oak tree, so I'm thinking the Treant was that of Oak. I believe Oak would be a very befitting name!" Kyo nodded with a half smile.
Dixie didn't know what a Treant was, but she nodded anyway. "Oak's nice," she said.
"Kuh kuh," Alek agreed.
"Do you know if it'll be a boy or a girl?" Dixie asked. She was curious if there was some way to tell, since she really hadn't been sure what Alek would be until he arrived.
The elf lifted the wand into the air and stared at it. "Nope... I don't think you can tell by just looking at it's bottom!" Kyo chuckled slightly, trying to be a little humorous.
Staring at the little boy, Kyo seemed to chuckle warmly. "He uses his voice a lot, if I'm correct on Satyr folklore. They are pretty well known to play music very good!" Kyo nodded and smiled. "That’s at least what I heard, not sure if it's really true."
The girl nodded. "He needs a muzzle. His... music was so much prettier when he was a ghost." It was a good thing Alek couldn't understand her, or he might have taken offense.
It was nice to know that at least one person who had one of these wands didn't seem to know everything about it. Dixie smiled back at Kyo and said, "Have you met any other guardians?"
"I've met a few, but it's been a while since I have seen them...." Kyo began to drone out and spacey stare around. "I don't know why... I guess I kind of got lost wandering around this place and eventually bumped into Ianna just a few hours ago, that’s when I got Oak.." Kyo tapped at his chin. Then shook his head.
"Sorry I spaced it there for a second. Well you know the more he practices the better and more wonderful his voice will be!" The elf nodded.
This guy sure seemed zoned out. But it was understandable. This place was a maze, and much larger than it appeared from the outside. Wait, did he just say he had only received his wand a couple of hours ago?
"Wow," Dixie said. "Can you find your way out again?" She was a little frightened about her own prospects now. If Kyo had been in here for hours, what kind of luck would she have getting back outside?
She nodded at the elf's assessment of Alek's now-horrible songs. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I just wish he didn't have to practice out loud."
"I think I got a handle of this place now, I can probably find my way out again!" The elf nodded. Knowing that he most likely remembered the way back out, but he wasn't planning on leaving any time really soon. Not until he finishes the research on his wand.
"You could always put him in his own room... or you could get ear muffs." Kyo grinned and chuckled lightly.
"Okay good." Dixie thought she remembered the way out as well, but she still wasn't sure whether or not this place was magical. She could handle children that came out of inanimate objects, but magic houses were still a little more than she was willing to admit existed. "I thought we weren't going to be able to find our way out of here," she said with a slight grin.
Dixie nodded. "He's got his own room, but he doesn't like it much. He won't cry unless he's hurt, but he knows how to scream when he's locked in. My father usually lets him out. Archie's a pushover like that." If she sounded callous, Dixie didn't seem to notice.
Alek lifted his head at the mention of his grandfather's name, but when he didn't see the puppet-man anywhere, he leaned back into Dixie's shoulder.
"That’s kind of funny..." The elf let out a rolling chuckle. "I still have a ton of books to be going through.." Kyo shrugged his shoulders and scan down the many book cases filled with knowledge. "It's going to take me hours to get through them all, but then maybe I'll be more familiarized with all of them!" The elf nodded.
"How long have you had Alex?" The elf turned his back away from the woman and towards the book case he was recently tearing apart, but yet kept his head tilted so she was in the corner of his eye.
Dixie looked over at the shelves as Kyo did. "Yeah, hours," she said. She certainly hoped to not be there that long.
"I got his wand in May, but he just turned into this." She bounced Alek higher on her hip and he let out a surprised 'oof.' That was kind of fun!
"Hmm interesting. Hey I still have a lot of books to be going through." The elf once again scanned up and down the shelves. "I should probably get back to them before it gets to late." Kyo nodded, turning his head back toward Dixie and Alex. "I hope I get to see you guys around here more often, I enjoyed making your acquaintance!" Kyo smiled and bowed in the normal Elvin way.
Dixie nodded. "We should be going too." She supposed she could make do with one of the least stupid Curious George books for Alek's first storytime.
"We'll be seeing you around," she said with a smile, before turning back to where they had come in. "It was nice to meet you." Dixie gave Kyo a short wave and Alek mimicked her before she pushed open the door and headed back to headquarters and outside.

... Book number one!During the whole rush of trying to find the book that homed the information and history about Treants. The elf Kyo basically forgot about the book that home and rested in his satchel. It was a book colored green with bronze edges and a bronze tree etched on to the front. Being passed down through the many generations of his family. It was a book that his own father passed on down to Kyo before his death. Something Kyo treasured most of all, mostly for the memories it held and the value it had to him. Kyo jumped off the latter and hopped over the many messes of the books that lay scattered on the velvet flooring. Wandering over to one of the tables on the first floor, Kyo gently placed his backpack carefully down on the wood and zipped open the pockets and began to search and tear apart the inside. Grabbing onto something familiar, the elf retrieved one of the books deep within the satchels bowls. "I think this will be something very important in your life," Kyo whispered. Staring at the wand in his hand. "It is really important to me and I think it's time that I will pass it on down to you!" The elf smiled. Laying the book down on the table and the wand on top of it's cover. Sighing, the elf decided that it was a pretty good time that he should take a break.

... A Wisp?!
It felt like ages since the elf had been in a library of such grandeur. Taking in a deep breath, Kyo could smell the wisdom and the age that dusted on to these books. "There must be hundreds of books here, how am I ever going to find the right one?" The elf sighed. "Well I'm not getting anywhere by just standing here!" Kyo nodded. Looking down at the wand in his hand. The elf had to figure out a place to put the wand so he could find this book in the shortest amount of time. Looking and patting at his shirt, The elf remembered the inside pocket of his under shirt was there. Kyo opened his button up shirt and placed the wand inside the pocket. The light sense of warmth pulsated off the wand and onto his shirt. It was rather strange, but the elf made it a point to get used to the feeling.
“Ok where to start?” Kyo approached the desks that occupied the space behind the three book cases. Scanning over the book shelved as he walked past them, checking for any identification papers on which was what, but there wasn’t any notification. What kind of library didn’t tell you what books occupied what shelves?
The elf slammed his palm on his face and slouched. “This is going to take me forever!” Kyo sighed, “Well I’m not getting any where just standing here!” Kyo straightened out his back. Placing his right hand over the wand, the elf nodded. Feeling a new sense of purpose overcome him.
Hours, minutes, and seconds past by. What had been one hour soon turned out to be six hours. Six whole hours searching for that book in the library. The elf knew there had to be a book in here about Treants and he was destined to find it!
“I know your in here!” Kyo grumbled to himself. Placing his hand over the wand every so often. All of a sudden a book bound in a bark almost leather binding fell from it’s place on the second floor. Landing on the velvet carpeting . Kyo grumbled to himself. “If you’re the book I’m looking for… why couldn’t you have fallen earlier!” The elf jumped off the latter and scrambled over to where the book was and clenched it between his fingers. Feeling the bark and leather between his fingers. Kyo sighed and plopped down on to the floor and opened the binding and flipped through the many various pages.
Kyo yawned. It another hour had past, it was starting to feel like it was past midnight almost two in the morning by now. A page came up. On the image was a tree, but it looked some what humanoid. Limbs and a face. “My family has told me just the basic stuff about the lore of Treants. They where what you call the gardeners of the forests in a way. Very protective.” The elf continued on to read the information. “Well some of them where like that. I’m pretty sure not all of them where!” Kyo smiled. “I wonder if your going to be a gardener when you arrive!” The elf chuckled getting to far ahead of himself.
“So little Treant guy, you where a gardener and a care taker of a forest…. I wonder what had happened to you.” The elf scratched at his head and shrugged his shoulders. Standing up with the book in his hands, Kyo placed the book in it’s home. Making a mental note of the location.
All of a sudden. A warm pulsing feeling and light flow began to pour out from his shirt. Kyo looked down, confused. Reaching in with his hand a hot, but not quite burning feeling began to warm his hand. Pulling the wand out of it’s home. Kyo took a closer examination. Leaves made of pure light began to grow out of the twig and almost engulf the wand. “Wha… what’s going on?” The elf was getting nervous and more nervous by the second. All of a sudden a brown like smoke began to emit from the tip of the wand. It was something the elf had seen before. It was a ghost!
“You… you’re a ghost!” Kyo mumbled, but now with a sense of excitement. The leaves of pure light began to fall from the twig and float down to the floor and disappear. The elf plopped back down on the floor, slightly exhausted from everything. His eyes began to close, but he fought as much as he could. Kyo brought he wand close to his chest and drifted off to sleep.

ORP/PRP Channel Fever --------------------------------
Sitting alone on the more-than-comfortable couch sat the very portrait of dejection. Swarthy hands clasped a shockingly blond head, but the owner of both didn't move at all as the TV played out its reality drama.
But it wasn't "The Real World" or "Joe Millionaire" that flickered across the screen; it was "A Baby Story."
But perhaps he wasn't alone after all; beside him, yammering melodically in his head, was a ghostly child, tinted a bright blue and clutching an equally bright spear against her insubstantial body.
Wandering amongst the halls, the Elvin man Kyo gave up on researching and the such. It was giving him such a bad time that just seeing a book would send shivers down his pale spine.
The sound of electricity and commotion filled the stagnate sounds of the hallways. One of Kyo's ears twitched at the sound. "What the?"
Kyo followed the sound, unknown to of the origin. Turning a sharp corner. The elf came to a halt, followed by the ghost wavering and clasping onto his twig like wand.
Oak sent a gurgling sounds of shock into Kyo's head, "Huh?" Kyo turned and faced the ghost, but shook it out of his system and returned his gaze on the illuminated screen. "Must be really bad?" Kyo questioned, seeing the man cradling his head between his hands.
"Mmm?"
Clearly startled, Cal snapped to attention, before answering the question after all. He spared only a moment to wondery why people often said "hmm" before proceeding to answer the question they didn't hear. Ah well.
"No, no, it's ... I'm just ..." How to explain. "Worried?" he managed at last. The lines in his face showed up deeper today in his duress, making him look even older than his forty some years. He didn't immediately explain what about, his eyes drifting instead to the ghost that lurked over his companion's shoulder.
"How do you keep from getting stared at like you're insane when you're out in public?" Cal queried instead, nodding toward the baby-to-be. Raidne let out a high trill. Since she'd come into this form, she was almost never silent, but she wasn't noisy in an irritating way, at least to Cal. That was a mercy, anyhow.
"Worried, about your ghost?" Kyo tilted his head, leaning his frail pale body against the door way. Not quite understanding why one would be worried about such a small thing. Well at least to Kyo it was pointless.
"I don't know. I guess I never really paid to much attention to everyone else." Kyo shrugged. Although there wasn't much for him to be worried about since Oak only emerged not to long ago. "I haven’t been outside for a while, I've been in the library ever since I got Oak here." Kyo rubbed at his temple, "So I guess I can't really answer your question." The elf shrugged once again.
"I see," the blond man commented brusquely. He looked at this newcomer intently now, taking in details. This man was his almost total opposite.
"I'm not worried so much about her now," he mused, looking at the Siren who burbled cheerily in his mind, if softly. "But when she is older. And if I'll do what I should. I've never had children, or cared for them," he said bluntly, in a rare moment of openness and candor. "I'm afraid I'll screw something up. Little things, like how to decorate her room. Big things, like what if she gets sick? What do babies need?"
He caught himself up short, ending the spew of words that held almost a desperate edge. She was nearly always on his mind. How did this elf manage to stay so blase?
"Well I guess that could be a problem, but you should know there are more people here at the HQ. Many of them have there own wands.." Kyo nodded with a warm smile.
"I'm sure some one here could help you out, but for decorating her room. Do what you think would best suit her." Kyo scratched at his head. "Look at it's wand and go with that!" The elf nodded. "I'm sure some idea will pop up..."
"I've read books and I watch shows ..." He struggled for a phrase to better explain himself, and at last found a rather obscure one. "In the navy we always called it 'channel fever' -- how you can't sleep the night before you leave port. I know she'll be coming soon, and it seems I can't settle to anything knowing that. I keep laying scenarios over in my head, I keep seeing all the things I haven]]t done instead of what I have."
Did he make sense? He doubted it.
"I have a room that overlooks the sea picked out for her. I want to paint it blue, but isn't blue usually for boys?" His traditional views rose to the forefront.
A thick, shining peice of tinfoil went flying into the room, striking the centre of the tv with a thin "ping" noise.
Of course, the tin foil's ping was followed by a shrill cry of victory....which was, of course, followed by:
"Damnit, Zasalamel!" From the ping, to the shrill glee, to the annoyed, rather disgruntled voice...well, it was quite the entrance. "Don't do that, you might actually hit something!" The woman's voice was now scolding, and her scold was met with silence.
However, it was only Neveah who visibly rounded the corner to the room; there was no infant or child in general within eyesight. Odd. Sighing, the butterfly woman brushed her hand through her hair, then seemed to notice the two men in the room. Gasping, the butterfly woman then bowed a little bit; force of habit now. "Ack, I'm sorry! I didn't realize you were in this room! He didn't hit either of you, did he?!"
Now, she was pointing downward with the same hand she'd brushed her two-toned hair; and if they followed her gesture, they'd see the slightly glowing purple eyes of an obsidian-skinned toddler, looking through a shaggy mass of white hair. Of couse, the toddler was slightly holding onto the couch's arm and peering over it, as if he were being sneaky and spying on them in his own way.
Neveah hid her chuckles.
The elf shrugged. "Not entirely. I think a blue room would suit her very well!" Kyo nodded with a warm smile. "Sometimes you just need to go with your gut feeling and give it a try, you never know, right?"
The elf shrugged his frail shoulders. "I'm thinking of painting Oak's room green and fill it up with trees, from corner to corner. Something to give him the sense of home... hopefully." Kyo sighed. Thinking it would impossible, but he couldn't he wouldn't know until he gave it a shot.
Kyo cocked his head. His Elvin eyes catching the sight of a round sphere fly into the room. “Huh?” Suddenly a very familiar voice echoed into his sharp ears. Kyo recalled the voice was something he heard once before. Turning his head, Kyo took in the sight of Neveah; the butterfly woman. “I’m fine…” The elf nodded.
Cal only barely registered the elf's response before a silver ... something ... smacked into the moving screen. Cal jumped, as did Raidne. If a ghost could truly be said to jump. It mostly resulted in the barrage of noises -- which Cal heard only as a sort of soothing background music -- came to a sudden, startled halt.
Oh god. It was that butterfly woman again.
It wasn't that she was nice; but something about her proportions and her actions just made Cal uncomfortable. Sparing a sidelong glance for his charge, Cal nevertheless made a quiet reply.
"No, we're fine ... Good to see you again Niveah." He remebered her name at least, and for politeness' sake he mumbled out the expected phrase. Besides, opportunity had knocked...
"I'm a bit concerned about what to do once Raidne has grown," he told her. "Was ... what's the best information on how to raise babies?" he ended a bit lamely. He meant, of course, about Ghost babies in particular; but he failed to express that.
"Oh, good! I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone..." Whil she did sound relieved, it was apparent by her tone that she wasn't really focusing on their wellbeing right then. Instead, she was staring at both of them while she waited for recognition to set in. It was that Cal person and...the man who'd knocked over the vase? Kyo, was it?
Oh good. She did know them, then!
"Good to see you too, both of you!" She chirped in cheerfully; life was so much easier when she knew someone! But then...Cal asked her for advice. Asked her for advice. First, she stared at him again, confusion in her angled eyes...then she coughed a bit and relaxed her pose, just so she could count on her slightly elongated fingers. "Uhm...Don't forget to change thir diapers, feed them when they want to be fed, and make sure they get sleep." Hey, he said babies. "I wasn't...exactly the best mother ever but...Zah's still alive so I'm doing something right. I guess...the best thing I can offer you for advice is to pay attention to them. You really do catch on to what they want really fast." Of course, she left out 'or they'll deafen you with shrieks until you do learn'. Cal should figure that one out on his own. Oh yeah, she was definately trying to make herself seem smarter on the subject. "Why?" It was an open question, one that no doubt meant "why ask me?"
"Echk." Said the dark-skinned boy from his partial hiding space. He apparently decided to greet people in his strange language, followed immediately by a raised hand that may or may not have been a wave from behind the couch's arm.
Kyo shuffled in his position. Something didn't feel really comforting being around Neveah's child. Kyo chuckled and waved his hand.
Oak sent some sounds into Kyo's head sounding almost like a greeting. "Oak here says Hi... I think!" Kyo nodded with a bit of a shrug.
"So about that lamp... I mentioned it to the owner..." Kyo couldn't remember her name... since it was only a short and brief meeting. "I can't recall her name, but it seemed like she was more upset that I was in the house with out her knowing.." The elf sighed.
Turning his head back to the man on the sofa, "Sounds like she said everything. Just don't try... to hard..." Kyo nodded.
Cal started again as he actually focused on the child who'd managed to get so close without his notice. His eyes, usually hawklike, had been casting about distractedly.
The dark child jabbered something and raised one hand in a strange gesture. He didn't know what the child was trying to say, so Cal, typically, said nothing.
The words of these two helped him absolutely none. They were both vague and rambling and uninformed -- three of Cal's least favorite things. When he left here, he'd buy more books on baby care...
Raidne saved him from actually having to reply. Rising a few inches, she drifted purposefully toward Zah, who'd attracted her attention as well. She chirruped to Cal, her mindvoice closely resembling that of a bird. "To be perfectly honest, I went by Baby books. I had to edit them to suit me though because uh...yeah." The butterfly woman gestured irritably to her peering "son". "He can't stand the light. Well he can now, for like...half an hour maybe, if we're lucky. But yeah, definately had to edit the books for him." By now, she was rambling. The folklorist's weak spot was to be asked about parenting; she felt like such a bad mother nine times out of ten. "I digress...but you can borrow my books if you want." Poor Cal is in the same boat she was!
"Lamp? Oh, that's right! I was going to ask about that. It was resolved, eh? No big deal...and really, if she'd wanted you to stay out they probably would have had some magical guard." Really, this was Neveah's attempt at comforting...somewhat. She shrugged a bit, then looked at the two ghostlings in the room. "Oh, I didn't know you had a wand, Kyo...and Cal, congrats on...Raidne, was it?"
Zah's purple gaze had been trailing the room, surveying the people...and the ghostlings. Of course he realized there was a girl...essense in the room, but he chose to ignore it since she wasn't moving near him. So, he found himself staring at the other ghost and the other elf in the room; he was too young to bear the ill-will of his people, so his stare was more out of curiousity than contempt. "Echk." He repeated again, waving; this was when Neveah murmured about 'Echk' being something along the lines of 'Hello', just incase the men were wondering.
When the girl-thing moved though, Zah's attention went snapping to the ghost. First those purple orbs widened, then they purposely went to the floor in a move that was rather submissive. "E-Echk, Ligrr klez.." He said shyly, if not nervously.
"Thanks, I guess it was fate or something along the lines of pure luck that I had happened to be here at the right time, no?" The elf nodded. Listening to the conversation about caring for a child. Kyo believed in winging it and following what he thought would best suit the child. He knew he wasn't helping much with the situation of Cal's.
"Hey that reminds me we haven’t introduced ourselves," The elf nodded. "I'm Kyo and this little ghost is named Oak!" Kyo nodded once again.
Finally! A practical suggestion. Baby books were, Cal discovered, more expensive than might be imagined. As were babies themselves, or so he'd heard.
Which reminded him; diapers and baby powder and bottles and ... other things babies needed which escaped him at the moment ... didn't go bad. He should get the books and do that sort of shopping on his way home.
No, never mind, that meant having the disturbing image of Raidne drifting along behind him in the supermarket. He'd just go back out.
"Actually, I'd really appreciate that," he told Neveah, though wondering what sorts of "edits" he'd have to make for Raidne. Earplugs? No, that was unfair. She had lovely voice, he reminded himself, feeling inexplicably cranky and tense.
Introductions? No, he hadn't made those... "I'm Cal Morgan," he said, stiffly extending a leathery hand to Kyo. "And this..." Zasalamel's curious reaction puzzled Cal, but he didn't remark upon it. Watching his Ghost and the other boy, he forced himself to continue. "This is Raidne."
The baby ghost whistled cheerily at her name.
Neveah chewed on her bottom lip, trying to recall where she'd left the best of those baby books. She couldn't remember, oh well. Instead, she thought back to how she felt when Zasalamel was a ghostling, too. "But for now, how about you try to keep them near your shoulder, eh? Its hard to lose them that way. And... That way people might think they're imagining a ghost near you." The butterfly woman shrugged. "It worked with the spiderling." Then again, being a humanoid...she was used to getting stares.
Then, they started to introduce themselves. Which was silly, since Neveah knew them both...but when in Rome! Besides, they may have forgotten the Drow's name. "Neveah...and Zasalamel. Or Zah. Whichever." She pointed at herself, then down at her suddenly submissive, shy charge.
Zasalamel didn't look at anyone or thing in specific. Not Kyo, not Cal, Not the ghosts, not the floor...everything had his attention for an equal amount of time. To him, this was safer than having to face a girl....even if she was a ghost.
Kyo could sense something wasn't right with the elf of darker skin, but he didn't make to much of it. Since there where other more pressing matters as the problem that still had to be solved back at his home.
Oak wavered closer as his guardian crossed his arms and moved the tree beings wand closer to his heart. Oak wavered across the elf’s frail figure up and over then seemed to rest on the elf's shoulder. A small gurgling sound lifted into Kyo's mind.
Kyo smiled sensing that the sound was a rather peaceful tune.
Reaching out with his own hand, the elf shook Cal's. "It's nice to meet you both, and I’m sure Oak agrees!" Kyo nodded.
The dark little boy with his bright purple eyes had been interesting when he'd been making Cal jump and watching everybody. Then something happened -- she wasn't sure what -- and Zasalamel seemed to lose interest in everything.
Raidne did likewise. Instead, she watched as Oak sat on Kyo's shoulder, and mimicked the action, curling into Cal's neck as she'd done often as a wisp.
"Well..." Cal began awkwardly. He wanted the books as soon as possible, but he didn't want to intrude. Hell. "Would it be easiest to pick the books up today? Or I could meet you somewhere at your convenience..." His voice trailed off again. Early retirement might be nice to some, but having lost his ability to sail temporarily with Raidne still so young, he was feeling the strain of hours upon hours of free time.
Zasalamel seemed to have realized the girl-ghost had lost interest...because it seemed right when she did, his attention focused specifically on Kyo. The Drow first stared at the other elf, wondering why this elf was so lightly coloured...and then he re-noticed the ghost on the light elf's shoulder. Blinking and staring at the boy-ghost instead. "Jihard!" He chuckled out suddenly, pointing at Oak. The ghost was holding a stick! So far, Zasalamel liked sticks. They were fun to throw.
"I have no idea what that means." The Butterfly woman clarified almost instantly, after Zasalamel burbled in that language of his. Then, she backtracked to the other issue. "Oh yeah, books. Uh. I can get them now, if you don't mind watching Zah for me for a little bit?" Her aqua gaze moved from Cal to Kyo; they were both guardians too, so why shouldn't she ask them to babysit while she went to do Cal a favor?
Kyo smiled. Staring down at the drow boy then moving his focus on to his wand and baby ghost. "I think Oak and I better head out, we got a long night ahead of us and I still have to get his room prepared, and I would like to sleep in a real bed tonight." The elf nodded.
"So I think it's really all up to you Cal, maybe you could get some practice in with Zah." Kyo smirked. Feeling slightly uncomfortable around the child of a darker tone. He didn't really understand why, but he just was.
"It was really nice to meet you all, I really do hope I see you all again. Cal, Radien." Kyo nodded in there direction. Followed quickly by twisting his gaze away from the two, Kyo's eyes darted toward the drow and Neveah. "It was nice seeing you again and it was nice to meet you Zah. I hope you get to meet Oak sometime in the near future." Kyo nodded once again and turned his back and headed off down the hallway.
Oak wavered on the elf's shoulder, but watched the drow child inventively as the two wandered off into the distance. Sending gurgling and giggling noises into the elf’s mind.
"I'm sure we will meet them again Oak." Kyo smiled, placing a hand on the doorway and left the HQ.

... Dear Diary
Kyo had finally arrived home from that head quarters. It was a rather strange experience, but a good one at that. He didn't leave empty handed. In fact he obtained a new friend. One that he dubbed the name Oak to.
Falling on his bed, it had been at least an hour since he had arrived home. Reaching over and retrieving a wooden with a vine twined binding journal. Kyo opened up the ancient pages and pulled out his quill and began to jot down his adventure.
"Dear journal,
It was a pretty odd and exciting day... I mean days. I guess I never made it home last night, but I was doing something rather important. You see I accidentally ended up in this place and got lost in this woman’s home. It was strange that she didn't notice me entering, but I didn't really try to make it noticeable.
When I tried to leave she saw me finally, but she also stopped me. It was strange she was talking to herself quite a bit... but she is also the one who gave me my new friend. Oak... that’s what I decided to name him after I did a bit of research on Treants. Since that is what he is. Well any ways I have a long night a head of me and I need to get Oak's room ready. "
Kyo placed the book back in it's home and headed off to complete his task. Oak's room wasn't going to finish by it's self.

... Growth Spurt
The night had finally came of day two. Kyo the elf with the wavering brown spirit, finally arrived at his home after not attending to it the day before. Being so overwhelmed in researching on the new friend he had received from that strange place. Stepping through the wooden framed door way, the elf glanced left and right with a confused look slapped across his pale frail face. Something was missing, something that was much needed to be done, but what?
Kyo spaced it big time, finally remembering what this ghost following him would turn into. “A baby!” Kyo slapped his palm against his forehead and sighed with an ounce of depression. “I still don’t have a room ready and prepped for when he comes. I can’t have him sleeping with me…” Kyo slouched, falling back against the closed door behind him. Sliding all the way down to the floor. The elf emitted a whimpering noise.
“I guess I might as well get started, I do have that guest room for when my relative comes for a visit… which reminds me I haven’t seen Vin in quite some time.. Oh well.” Kyo shrugged, standing and picking himself back up. The elf slid himself across the floor forcefully until he reached the door of the guest room. With a twist of the door knob and a fling of the door. A warm air smashed into Kyo.
Smashing his hand against the painted smooth wall, Kyo flipped on the light switch and took in the sight as he walked up the stairs in the center of the room. The walls painted green with a square design, the floor made of wood. On the across from entryway was occupied with four doors that slid open to a porch. On the adjacent wall a book shelf hid itself in the wall. Next to the book shelf was a wooden framed window that didn’t open. The only way for someone to move air through the room was through the means of opening the porch doors.
In the corner of the room lied a bed in white linen and brown pillows. Everything was here already, but would just need to be adjusted… to suit this new coming child.
“I think this room needs a little sprucing up. The paint and the flooring looks good. Maybe we could put a rug down in the center and a small table on that. A few chairs would be good!” Kyo nodded. “But we will be needing some trees and plants. Maybe that will help the process and make it feel something more like home!” Kyo tapped his finger on his nodding chin.
The elf had ditched his home once again. It seemed like it wasn’t going to seem like home for quite some time as he prepped and prepared everything for the coming child. Kyo wanted it to be perfect… well at least some what perfect, but welcoming. The frail elf ran amuck through the stores of Gaia. Collecting furniture and rugs. Running from one store to his home then right back to another store. Lacking any type of vehicle, it was the only possible way to get things done. Getting everything other than the plants. Kyo built the table, feeling the grainy wood beneath his pale finger tips. It was a nice wood. Stained and smooth on the top.
Everything seemed to be ready, but for the plants had yet to be purchased. Kyo shrugged, this would be the simplest of tasks of the night as the ideas of what plants would be needed was already occupying his mind. Palm trees, sunflowers, a few cacti, some low small growing flowering trees, and a few other various common plants. Kyo made the run to the local greenery and got everything that was needed, including a watering can.
After prepping the room and positioning everything into there appropriate places. Kyo passed out on the bed in the corner. Knocking over a few leafs as his frail body came down on the freshly cleaned linen. The wand of oak resting between his pale digits. Shutting his heavy eyes the elf began to doze off, but not for long. A luminescent green light began to pour out from the wand and the baby ghost clutching onto it. A series of gurgling and giggling began to echo into the subconscious mind of Kyo.
The elf’s eyes blew open. Shocked and scared at the same time. Kyo wasn’t used to the sounds of a child in his mind. “huh?” Kyo’s eyes began to trail down his figure until the wand and the light came into view. The light began to form the figure of leaves and they began to float down and coat the wand and the baby ghost in a thick blanket of debris.
Soon after the light began to diminish, but an unfamiliar weight was left. The leafs of light began to dissipate and meld into the shadows. Leaving the form of a child adorned in bark and leafs. With a tuft of colorful hair on the top of his head.
“Oak..” Kyo whispered slight, but fell instantly back to deep slumber. Oak resting on his chest.

... Corn!!Archie: Black Kyo: Green
To the corn maze! ---------------------------- Dixie disliked autumn. Random seasonal illness, fall jackets, raking leaves, these were all things that she could do without. Her only previous fall season on this planet had been spent indoors, thinking of daily something-or-others to get out of the chores her father had desperately wanted her to do and the "fun" her father had desperately wanted her to have. Now that she had a kid of her own, however, autumn was apparently a time to be outside, acting like a parent.
Dixie obliged, but that didn't mean she liked it.
She was currently standing in line for tickets to the Durem Corn Maze, a fact that intrigued her because first of all, she had never known that Durem even had corn, and secondly, walking through a maze of corn was just plain stupid. Alek bobbed in her arms, oohing and aahing at the faintest tinges of fall colors on the leaves and at, of course, the corn.
In the spirit of Halloween and all things that are spooky. Kyo decided to take Oak on his first adventure and trip to a corn maze. Why he did... not even he could tell you. Not really dressing up for the season, Oak was hoisted and held tightly against his guardian. In an attempt to try and spread some warmth, but it wasn't likely for a child of the trees to really need it.
The two arrived at the Durem Corn maze. A slightly darkening sky shrouded the heavens. Following the mass of people at the faux corn maze. Kyo rubbed his hand through the child’s fall colored hair and smiled. "I hope your going to enjoy this, I don't even know why we are here." Kyo shook his head, but ignored it.
The elf tilted his head. Looking further into the line he saw the form of two very familiar people. "Dixie, Alek?" Kyo cocked his head.
Dixie turned as she heard her name. "Oh hey!" she said, relief evident on her face. She wouldn't have to go through this weirdness by herself after all. As she backed through the line, giving people 'excuse mes' left and right, she noticed that Kyo was holding a very colorful baby. When did that happen?
"Is that Oak?" she asked.
Alek reached out a hand and grabbed at the air in the other baby's general direction. The too-long sweatshirt sleeve dangling over his hand masked his intent, making his arm look like some sort of undulating worm.
"Yeah this is Oak." Kyo nodded and smiled. Watching as the baby Alex reached out for the boy with colorful hair.
Oak instantly shot a glance up at his guardian upon hearing his name, followed by twisting his tiny form around to see who the weird elf was talking to.
Kyo turned Oak around the rest of the way. So he would feel more included in the group. "He just appeared I guess.. not to long ago."
Dixie turned Alek around as well, before addressing Oak directly. "You were a stick the last time I saw you," she said with a slight grin. Her attention turned to Kyo again. "So, what brings you two here?" Dixie craned her neck, trying to see how much longer they had to wait. "The ad promised fun and games, not a line," she muttered. As if some unseen force had heard her complaint, they began moving much faster, reaching the front of the line in no time.
"I just thought we would need to attend one corn maze at least this year. I heard good things about this one, although I hope they are true." The elf nodded.
Oak eyed the child with hair like no other. Just sitting there.... staring, then all of a sudden this weird look just fell onto the tree babies face. Sticking his tongue out like a dog, then the corner of his mouth drooped followed by a cocked eye. Oak began to giggle.
Alek watched the colorful baby, concern flitting across his face briefly as Oak stuck out his tongue. Was this going to turn out like his encounter with that other tree? When Oak began to giggle, it took quite a bit of squirm control on Dixie's part to keep Alek from dropping rudely to the floor.
"Aaaaa ha ha hahahaaaaaa!" Alek said, before dissolving into real laughter. He too stuck out his tongue, blowing a messy raspberry at Oak before laughing and squirming some more.
"Two please," Dixie told the frazzled and spit-upon ticket counter woman. She looked back at Kyo and Oak. "You know what? Make that four." The tickets were only three bucks anyway.
"Babies're free," the woman said.
"Even better." Dixie smiled, but it probably looked a little feral. Being nice to people she didn't find the least bit interesting wasn't easy in her old age.
She handed a ticket to Kyo and motioned toward the opening in the field. "After you," she said.
Oak's mouth dropped open in shock. Some how and some way he had to beat that raspberry, but how?
"Oh thanks. That was really nice of you." The elf nodded with a warm smile across his face. Heading off into the corn maze, the elf awaited for Dixie.
Oak turned his head and was followed by his body as the two wandered on by the others. Keeping a close eye on hairy baby. Waiting for the two to get closer, Oak pulled at his eye and blew a raspberry right back and giggled once again. "Ahhaha.." Adding a mimicked laughter. "A booa biaag" was all that followed after.
Kyo scratched at his scalp some what confused, but shook his head.
Alek laughed and clapped appreciatively as Dixie caught up with Kyo. There was a fork in the corn up ahead, and Dixie looked at it with disdain.
"Which way should we go?" she asked.
Alek, making the most of his relative closeness to Oak, jerked out his arm, intending to grab the other baby before he could get away again. How were they supposed to have fun when these stupid adults kept moving around? "Eeeaaaaaa!" he said.
"Umm... I don't know." The elf tapped at his chin then suddenly a light bulb went off. Closing his eyes, the elf began to spin around slowly. Oak still being held closely to his chest. Which of who was beginning to giggle and laugh at the motion.
Losing his sense of direction the elf suddenly stopped and pointed off into a random direction, but this direction was right back at the start of the maze. "Hmm... well that didn't work. You pick a direction" Kyo turned back around and sighed.
Oak began to rock in his arms trying to regain some consciousness. Looking over to Alek, Oak watched as he reached out. Tilting his head slightly and cocking and eyebrow. The tree baby began to giggle and a snort left his nose.
Dixie couldn't help but smile at the elf's random spinning. When he stopped and just ended up pointing back at the entrance, she almost suggested they follow the hand of fate and head to McDonalds or something, but she held her tongue.
"Left looks good," she said with a shrug.
Alek grabbed his hand back as Dixie began to walk, happily babbling to himself.
"A wise choice I guess." The elf nodded and smiled. Following in suit as they followed along behind the Dixie and Alek.
Oak gave a grunt and a whine. Looking up at his guardian every so often. Not liking this game not one bit. The tree boy wanted to get closer and play with the other hairy child, but that’s something that can't happen while your walking.
"Someone's being loud." Kyo smirked looking down at Oak. Resting between his arms. "Strange, I thought Alek would be more vocal. At least that's what I gathered from the first time we met back at the HQ." Kyo tapped at his chin.
"He has his moments," Dixie said, as she continued down her chosen path. "I made a point of not bringing anything he could make into an instrument, and I think he's noticed how... annoying his voice is since he got a body," she explained. "He only sings at home now," she said with a smile.
After a couple more twists and turns, the small group broke into a good-sized clearing, strewn with empty corn husks and tightly packed bales of hay. Catching sight of a stick figure made of lashed together ears of corn, Alek squealed and wiggled around, anxious to be put down.
"Okay, okay," Dixie said, setting the baby on one of the boxy hay bales. "But only for a minute." She looked apologetically at Kyo. "I'm always afraid I'm going to drop him when he gets like that."
Kyo found a bale of hay across from Dixie and took a seat. Oak too was acting more unusual than normal as he squirmed for freedom. "I get like that too sometimes, but Oak doesn't really act crazy like this unless he's outside." The elf nodded. Setting down Oak on the dirt floor and the few strewn pieces of hay.
Green eyes quickly averting and watching the Alek carefully from the dirt below. Oak quickly buried his hands into the dirt and a soft giggle and a sigh left his lips. Something about being on the dirt floor just gave him chills up his spine. Gripping his right hand around a stalk of hay, Oak lifted the fiber up to his mouth and began to nibble.
Kyo seeing his actions didn't do anything about it at all, but patted the tree baby on the top of his head. "At least I don't have to worry to much on what he eats. Oaks seems to really like eating plants..." The elf shrugged.
Alek's eyes widened at the other baby's strange behavior before he leaned over and grabbed his own handful of hay, jamming it into his toothless mouth.
"Alek..." Dixie began before deciding it was useless. If Oak could eat hay, so could Alek. Someone in this maze probably knew the heimlich anyhow.
The baby laughed and threw his arms out wide, flinging the remaining, spitty hay onto every available surface within a two foot radius.
Oak stopped nibbling on his piece of hay just as soon as Alek stuffed some into his own mouth. Cocking an eye. Oak was slightly confused, but as soon as Alek started to laugh and throw things. Oak simply smiled and laughed as well. Throwing some of his own hay into the sky.
"Sometimes... I don't get babies." The elf shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah, tell me about it," Dixie said, brushing hay off of her sleeves.
Alek laughed some more, and picked up more hay to throw. He pulled his arm back to fling it, hard, at the other baby, but his swing was stopped by Dixie's hand. "Don't do that," she scolded. "It's mean."
Mean? Whatever that was, Alek didn't want to be it. Slowly, he lowered his hand and dejectedly sprinkled the hay in his lap. He sniffed.
"Oh crap, I didn't mean it like that," Dixie said. She lifted the baby into her arms and bounced him on her knee. Ever since her father had taken the kid out, he had been suffering from some sort of complex.
"Sorry," she said to Oak, not expecting him to understand.
Oak watched the boy with curious eyes. Was he about to throw something at me? Well... why did she stop him... it was only hay. Oak let out a soft grunt then took a handful of hay himself and smoothed it on the top of his head.
"Oak your making a mess of yourself." Kyo sighed then followed quickly by a yawn.
Oak soon let out a yawn of his own. "I think we better get finding our way out of here soon. Oak here looks like he needs to hit the hay." Chuckling, Kyo quickly let out a sigh.
Oaks eyes began to droop and hang over his deep green eyes.
"What do you say Dixie. Shall we?" Kyo stood up and pointed his hand out towards the continuing maze and bowed slightly. Trying to be polite. Then he bent his frail figure and snatched up the yawner. Alek watched Oak hay-ify himself and laughed softly. See, it was fun! Adults were lame.
Dixie nodded. "Near tantrums are a sure sign we should be getting home too," she said. "How about we just go back the way we came? I'm sure it would be faster than trying to find our way through the whole maze."
She stood and braced Alek's back against her chest so he could look out at the corn.
"That would most likely work out a lot better than trying to find our way out. Although we must try again next year and hope that these little guys can handle a corn maze maybe... on there own?" The elf nodded with a smile. Waiting for Dixie to head out first then he would soon follow... since that was the polite way, right?
Oak soon drifted off to rest. Resting his head on Kyo's right shoulder. A spot of drool dribbling from his mouth.
"Eck... drool."
It took Dixie a little while to get her bearings, but she eventually made it back out of the maze without getting lost.
Alek waved his arms and whined until she turned him around to rest on her shoulder as well. Hay didn't seem to agree with him after all.
Dixie patted the muttering baby on the back and said to Kyo," Until next year, then? At least for the maze." She grinned.
"Yeah until next year, although I think Oak here would like to visit with Alek here and there." Kyo nodded.
They where finally out of the torturing maze, but until next year... that would be another story. Hopefully the two would be much older and ready for something like this. Maybe even go on there own.
"Maybe they'll be old enough to do this on there own. I would rather be sitting at a cafe` drinking coffee then getting lost amongst some corn stocks." Kyo chuckled.
"Sounds good." Dixie didn't comment on how much Alek and Oak might grow within the next year. She had felt, first hand, how it was to grow so rapidly, and she didn't want her kid to have any part of it. Not that it hurt or anything, but... if Alek was bringing home girls in her lifetime, she might have to move to another dimension.
"See you guys around," she added with a tired grin, sure that she would soon. Kyo was certainly one of the few people she could stand on this planet. She raised Alek's clenched fist in a puppeted wave and the baby muttered darkly.
"Of course, we'll see you two around." Kyo nodded and smiled. "What about you Oak?" The elf added. Staring down on his charges head.
Oak looked up at his guardian and sighed. Looking back over towards the two. Oak mimicked the two and raised his own hand. "Ahh.."
The elf raised his own hand and waved towards the two. "Bye Dixie... Alek."
The elf gave a nod of his head.

... COB
The two returned to there home from the brisk and cold atmosphere outside. Shedding off any excess clothing. Kyocho wandered off into the sitting room where Oak's bed was and rested him down for the night.
"Good night, Oak." A smile grew on the guardians face as he walked away and off into the kitchen. A nice cup of hot chocolate was in due order. Pulling out cup from the cupboard, the elf filled it up with water from the tap and threw it into the microwave.
"It's been an odd day... I guess. Who would ever imagine us meeting Dixie and Alek at the same corn maze." Shaking his head.
Ding..
"Ooh.." Scurring over to grab the microwave. The elf pulled out the tub of hot chocolate and mixed a few spoonfuls... plus a few more for good measure.
"I'm sure we'll meet them again. Oak is in need of some good friends." The elf nodded.

... Weeds!!Kyo: Black Enoh: Green
Playing in the weeds! -----------------------------
It was apparent of the time of day as the sun was barely peaking out over the horizon. Causing the late afternoon sky in pigments of different colors. One could see if they where lounging in the gardens and that's exactly what these two where doing.
Sighing, Kyo reached over, scratching his back against the ivory colored base of the fountain, and pulled out the book he had brought along with him and Oak. The book was brown in pigment with a green tint to the pages. On the cover of the book was an etched tree and in the corners a bronze/brass metal, Protecting them from damage.
Resting the book on his stretched out crossed legs. Kyo's eyes shifted over to Oak, who was playing amongst the weeds just bellow the branches of a large tree.
A smile grew on the elf’s face.
Placing a hand on the cover of the book. Kyo's mind went blank all but for the memory of where he had obtained the book. From the library in this building and sooner or later it would need to be returned.
Lifting the cover of the book, the elf began to scan through the many pages.
It was getting darker out now, and that meant Zah was more active. Since Zah was active, that meant the hurt butterfly was in for a whole heap of trouble. Normally, she would have kicked Zah out to do whatever he wanted...but she was still leery on what Philos might do so...she opted to go with the energetic, growing, and annoyingly tall Drow child.
Zasalamel was always a good kid; he never strayed far from her (in fact, he always seemed to walk behind her, now...He said it was the 'right thing'), he never spoke back to her, and he did as he was told; so really, Neveah couldn't use anything against him if he wanted to do something, and whatever he wanted to do tended to be a reality.
Right now, he'd told Neveah he just wanted to get out of the house, so our of the house they went. He didn't have a place in mind, so Neveah picked the headquarters; there was probably some surface bug in the gardens to keep him entertained for hours, anyway. So, to the gardens they went!
It didn't take long for the butterfly, who was now minus her wings save for four patches of various sized splinters that contained disjointed reminants of the beautiful ptterns her wings once had, wandered her way over to him. Zasalamel, on the other hand...had not noticed the elf. He was busy looking around for something new to poke and prod at.
"Am I interrupting anything?"
Kyo looked up from his book with tired eyes. The person looked familiar, but the shape wasn't right. Something was missing from her. "Neveah?" The elf's eyes squinted and he rubbed at them. "Oh no your not interrupting anything. I just thought Oak would like to spend some time out here." Kyo nodded over to the direction of the tree boy playing amongst the tall weeds.
Oak looked up from amongst the weeds. Hearing the sound of his name. A soft giggle lifted into the night air. accompanying the sounds of the chirping crickets.
“What are you guys doing out so lat…e..” It finally donned upon the elf. The drow child was present, something seemed a little odd at first.
“Oh..” Kyo smiled a little uneasy.
"Oh good! You still recognized me!" Neveah seemed honestly enthusiastic. Her wings were a defining part of herself for her entire life, and now that they were gone, she'd hoped that people would vaguely recognize her. "But good, I'm glad I'm not interrupting...Oak?" She asked curiously, looking over to the weeds where the elf was motioning. Oh, there was a little boy there! "He grew, congrats!" The broken butterfly had turned back to him now, slowly and steadily wrapping her arms over her stomach.
"I came out because the Drow-brat wanted to go play somewhere...it is getting darker out after all, he's more comfortable." She shrugged a bit, overlooking his unease for the time being; especially since Zasalamel was now standing beside her.
The Guardian and Charge were the same height, both reaching 5'7". Neveah seemed a little miffed when he went to stand beside her, but he didn't notice. Instead, he was looking over at the little boy in the weeds. Boy! Boything! He glanced down at Kyo, raising one hand in a slight wave before he bowed and left, moving over to the weeds and the infant.
"Huhlo Wahnd Baybeeh!" He said with his accent-heavy voice and butchered attempt at english. Zasalamel was sitting crouched on his heels near the boy, his arms resting on his knees. "Steeck baybeeh." Was his idly comment after a moment of looking at him, and his finger raised to point at the smaller boy's branches. "W'th....uhh....s'mahl rund grehn tings'..."
"Leaves." Neveah said absently, having heard him.
"Leevesh." Zah corrected with a proud smile.
"Why wouldn't I recognize you? I noticed your wings are gone, would you care to share what happened?" The elf folded the book and left it resting against his legs. Leaning back against the ivory colored fountain. Kyo's eyes moved slowly over to Oak and Zah, making sure the two where ok.
Oak looked up from his seat amongst the plants and smiled at the dark toned boy. Reaching up with a bark and green veined arm and hand, the little tree baby was trying to grasp onto the boy's white hair. The most intriguing color and object in view.
Neveah just shrugged when he asked his first question; of course, the shrug brought a hiss of pain to her lips, so she ceased the movement at once. As for telling him what happened...she seemed hesitant. Slowly, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "...Long story short, My now Ex-Boss hit Zasalamel, I fought back for him, my wings got bent and torn in the scuffle after that....and now they have to get removed. Its too big of a job to do it all at once, so I still have these splinters of wings." She said quickly, before turning around to let him see the four groups of wing splinters.
When Oak reached out for Zah, Zah reached out for Oak. He was too busy being intrigued by Oak's branches and leaves to really care about what the kid was going to do with his hair - By the way, what was with kids and his hair? His brothers pulled his hair, Taylor pulled his hair...why his hair? Poor Hair.
Carefully, he poked a bit at one of the closest leaves.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear about that." Kyo muttered, eyeing the left over splinters. Wincing at the thought of pain that Neveah was going through. "I hope things get better for you." The elf nodded. Not even able to imagine the pain the butterfly woman was going through.
Oak latched onto a patch of Zah's hair and pulled. Feeling the texture of the hair between his fingers. The baby laughed and giggled, but that suddenly all stopped as the dark skinned boy touched the leaves on top of his hair. Oak's small body went rigid and still from a sense of shock. The branches on top of his head where some what sensitive to the touch... but the feeling didn't stay for long. Oak looked up at Zah and yet pulled again at his white hair.
"Its...okay. Small price to pay, I suppose." Neveah said it, but she wasn't sure if she truely meant it. She loved Zah and all, but her wings were a part of her, and they were now lost. Idly, she wondered what she would look like as a butterfly now...and she desided to try and shift into one again when she got home.
Zah let out a cry when his hair was pulled; he wasn't paying attention, so it caught him off guard. He almost fell onto the little boy too; he managed to throw his hands down on either side of Oak to stop himself from flattening the kid. He hadn't noticed that Oak went rigid before...he was too busy swearing repeatedly in Undercommon...and out loud, too. When his hair was pulled a second time, he balanced his weight on one hand, raising the other to touch one of Oak's little hands, trying to persuade the kid to let go.
"Jugare lotha uss, qualla vrine'winith nin..." Zah pleaded with the kid, unaware that he'd slipped back into undercommon.
"Hmm..." Kyo tapped at his chin, somewhat baffled. "Could they grow back?" The elf stared back up at the woman.
Oak released his grip on the boy's hair and stared up at the Zah. Somewhat confused at the language he was speaking. Up until now the only language he had heard was common and what little Elvin Kyo spoke around the house. Tilting his head to the side a small grin grew on his face as the confusion began to set aside. Oak reached out and latched onto the Zah's arm. Neveah thought about Kyo's question for a moment, then slowly shrugged; it hurt, but she was careful about it this time. " I've never known butterflies who've lost their wings before. I imagine they don't though..." She sighed a bit. Well, if she was wrong they'd find out, wouldn't they?
Zasalamel looked every ounce relieved. The boy let go of his hair! Naturally, he was quick to jerk his head back, to put his hair out of range of grabby baby hands. He was about to thank the kid for letting go, but instead he found his arm captured.
"Uhm...Wheye?" He asked curiously, somehow remembering to speak english. He sat back on his butt in the weeds, using his free hand to pull the little one towards him and onto his lap. Oh well, at least the kid wasn't playing with his hair.
"A bagloo gabmu doo" Oak began to rambled on and on... and on. Over and over... and over again. Senseless things pouring out of his mouth as he was seated onto Zah's lap. Reaching forward Oak latched onto a dandelion and gave it a good yank, pulling it and breaking it off at it's lower stem and brought the plant up to his mouth and began to chew on it's yellow petals.
"Hmm..." Kyo thought long and hard. "I don't know if she would be willing to help you, but something seems a little odd in the presence of Ianna and Matilda. Maybe they could refer you to some one to help you... that's if your wings are that important to you?" The elf nodded.
Poor Zasalamel stared at Oak with wide purple eyes, caught between utter confusion and trying his absolute hardest to understand Oak. Was the younger boy even speaking english? Did he have a language of his own, too? His twin brothers spoke...sort of. But their noises and attempt at words were nowhere near what Oak was saying now. Both were lost on him, but one he was used to. He startled a bit when Oak went and started to eat the dandelion, but instead of trying to take it out of the baby's mouth, he twisted his torso towards the adults a bit.
"Uhm...Baybeeh eeteng weehd!" He said, both confused and concerned. Zasalamel knew Dandelions were weeds...Neveah kept telling him so...but then again, she also told Zah he grew like a weed. Maybe Oak was eating something important! That would be bad!
"No...I think I'll kep them off. I'm spending a lot of money on the surgery, and getting them regrown would cost a lot too. I...don't exactly have money to spare right now." Neveah admitted grudgingly, her irritation clear in her voice. It as the voice of a woman with three kids and a house...but no money. Of course, Zah's interruption was a good thing to clear her mind, and the broken butterfly turned her attention towards her tall charge. "Eating weeds...?" She parrotted, looking back at Kyo in confusion. Oak ate plants? Wasn't he a plant himself?
Kyo looked at the two some what confused. Then he tilted his body to the side so that Oak was in his line of sight. "Oak... eating weeds. It's ok. I'm sure he asked the plant before he ate it." The elf shrugged. Oak did ask first right? Who would know what he was saying anyways with that confusing baby talk.
"I've seen him do it before. It's all he ever eats are plants and veggies. He won't even touch any meat, his nose crunches up when ever he smell it being cooked." Kyo sighed.
Oak sudden stopped chewing on the weed. Feeling a little insecure with everyone watching him. Oak turned his head and leaned back to gaze back up at his guardian, then he looked over to the bug lady, and then back up to Zasalamel. A small smile grew on his face and nibbled on the plant fibers some more.

.. Books?!Ladyumbra: Green Kyo: Black
What we are. .......................
All of Del's lessons were paying off, Kishi had figured out how to read, it wasn't complex reading, there be no of mice and men being comprehendable for some time but the basics she'd mastered. Now armed with this new ability Kishi had decvided it was time to learn more about herself, well about her kind anyways and what better place to do so than the HQ library.
Having found the section labbled folklore and S she was busy scanning the titles for books on Succubi. Grey eyes scanned the many leather brown and old tomes untill they settled on an acceptable book. The cover was blak with silver lettering on it and small lewd drawing of a succubus on the spine. It was too high up for her to reached however, determined to have it and not trusting the stools or chairs ( she remembered her mother falling on at least one occasion) she reached out wither her wand hoping to hook the book and pulled it down.
Oak was in a bad mood that day. Rather than being at the library with his guardian he wanted to be at the garden playing amongst the weeds again. It was the most fun he had. "Harrumph" Oak seemed to mumble.
"OH chill dude, we'll go soon after I find another book to read up on. Maybe I’ll even take it with us." The Elvin guardian sighed. As the two wandered into the opening of the library, the smell of books and leather binding broke into the air. The two of them didn't notice the others in the library as they wandered over to a desk and took a seat. A pile of books where already starting to stack themselves on a corner. "No better way to start, we might as well start with this pile." The elf smiled, unknown to that these books where for children and had just been read.
Unfortunately for Kishi the book was hooked and did come down it fell quicker than she had imagine and landed on her foot . What followed was a stream of curses and whimpering as Kishi kicked the book from her injured foot and swore at it as though it had done this on purpose.
Oak stared and gazed around the room. Shocked and scared from the sudden noise. A silent, but audible whimper of a cry began to crawl out of the tree boy's mouth.
"What’s wrong Oak? It was just a book falling, I wonder who's the clumsy old fool." The elf nodded with a warm smile on his face. Bringing his hand up and patted the baby on top of his multi colored hair.
Kyo took a seat on one of the tables wooden chairs and began to browse through the book resting on the table. "HEY are you ok?" The elf called out to the apparent 'Old fool'.
" Foot hurts a stupid book fell on it but it's ok," Kishi said walking out to the main part of the library so she could find the owner of the concerned voice. She carried the book in one hand and her wand in the other as she made her way out there.
Upon spotting the libraries other occupants all thoughts of her hurt foot were banished. There was a baby here, Kishi loved babies , she didn't know why she just lovedthat they were warm and trusting and almost always friendly.
"Hi I'm Kishi I live here, who are you guys?" she asked in a friendly tone.
"Well I'm Kyocho and this little guy is Oak. It's very nice to meet you Kishi." The elf whispered. Setting down the book he was holding in front of them on the table.
Oak looked up and over at the unknown figure and watched her carefully, but soon a smile grew on his face. Green eyes following the figure of Kishi's wings. They where different... really odd and different.
Noting the baby's eyes on her wings she extended them to full length glad she had learned to balance with them by now. Falling over would not have improved the guardians opinion of her who probably though she was clumsy for having the book fall on her.
Placing her book on the table Kishi smiled " It's nice to meet you both, will you be here long? It's gets lonely sometimes and I like to meet new people?." Plus now some adults would talked to her, not like an equal mind you but they at least recognized when she spoke.
Oak smiled as big as he could and clapped his hands together in joy as he watched the bat girl extend her wings. A soft giggle left his mouth.
"It looks like Oaks like your wings there." The elf smiled. "Yeah I guess we'll be here a while. Just trying to find a good book to take home for a while to read to Oak here. "You going to be here long?"
Kishi laughed and bent her wing so it would brush the strange haired boy's cheeks. " A lot of babies like my wings but it's sort of fair since I also like somethign about them usually. Plus I don't even have the best wings of all of us, Malum an angle boy has the softest nicest feathered wings." There was awe mixed with jealousy in her reply.
" Yes I'll be here for a bit, I found my book already but I don't think I'll read it just yet." One it would have been rude to read with company around and two Kishi suddenly had the feeling that she'd need a few more lessons with Del before a book fo that size was going to be easy for her to understand.
Oak let out a high pitched squeal as he squirmed in his seat on his guardians lap. Reaching out the oak boy tried to grasp onto the leather wings of Kishi. "Ah.." His fingers making grasping motions.
"Oak those aren't yours so keep your hands to yourself." The elf nodded, but didn't attempt to stop him. Setting the book down on his desk, the elf looked over to Kishi. "I don't believe I've met this Malum."
" I'm sure you will someday , everyone meets each other here or there eventually becuase we're all connected." Kishi said. Considerign how many different kids she'd met out of pure chance she was sure she couldn't be the only one.
"It's ok I don't think he'll hurt them, I eman I wrestly and stuff and they're ok" Although then again when she wrestled with Zah her opponant didn't have sharp branches on their arms either. Still it was easier to get a little hurt then it was to see a baby sad becuase they were denied something. At that thought she lowed her wings so they could be touched.
"Hmm... Eventually." Kyo nodded. Remembering the first time he arrived here at the Head Quarters. Strictly by chance he had met with a large sum of people by the library. If that didn't happen he would have left and never had met Oak here.
Oak reached out and took a larger and tighter grip on the edge of the wing. "Ah.." A large smile grew on his face in excitement. The texture was surely something else.
Kishi smiled at the leafy haired child, as a baby his grip wasn't all that bad so she didn't mind him grabbing her. " You'd look cute with wings" she mused " Dunno what they'd be made of but it'd still be cute." Of course Kishi though most things would look better with wings, not having them made people unique and different which was fine she just happened to prefer wings to no wings.
A smile grew on the treelings face. Feeling the texture of the wing and bone between his fingers some more. It was truly different than anything else. A small yawn left his lips.
"Looks like some one is getting tired, we might be leaving here soon. Thanks for keeping his attention Kishi." The elf smiled and nodded. "I'm sure Oak will like to hang out with you again." Kyo nodded.

... BeginningMetaplot
Page One The Elvin guardian laid a hand on the door. Oak held tightly against his chest. Closing his eyes, Kyo began to feel an oh so familiar feeling. The two where returning to the shop once more. In need of a good book to read and Oak needed to get some fresh air. "No mater how many times you go through that it seems to get worse and worse every time." Shaking his head to rid the last bit of tingling feeling as there two bodies materialized. Making a mental note this time to stock up on a book or two before heading out. "Hmm.." No one seemed to be around the shop entrance, so that would mean that everyone else must be busy. Kyo shrugged his shoulders and trudged over toward the HQ entrance and walked through yet another portal. "Hello?” Oak squirmed in his guardians arm. Wanting to be released from his vice grip around his waist. Letting out a small whine and a grunt. Oak finally gave up after realizing his efforts where doomed from the start. “Agabhoo…” “Chill dude… we'll go to the garden area in a minute.” ---- More and more people kept filling into the room. It was pretty awkward to say the very lest and not to mention being almost ran over. Kyocho glanced over to the person responsible and gave a smile. "It's ok don't fret about it." The elf nodded then returned his gaze over to Kay. "And I believe we haven't had the pleasure of meeting you either." The Elvin man smiled. Walking over to the little girl, Kyo knelt down some what so Oak was some what Eye level with Kay. "This little guy is Oak and I'm Kyo. Who do you happen to be?" Oak's eyes grew in size. Watching the small figure dressed in a light pink and white. It was the pink hair that caught his attention the most. Never has he seen a color like this one before. Reaching out with grabby hands. Oak tried to latch onto her hair. “Ahh… Ahh..”
Page Two "Ack. NO... Oak!" Kyocho stood up and pulled Oak out of distance from Kay's white hair. "I'm sorry about that Kay. Oak has a thing with hair... especially white hair." The elf nodded. Remembering that one day in the past when Oak had met Zah for the first time. What a day... what a day. "Well it seems to be filling up pretty quickly here. Oak and I where going to try and snag a book from the library and settle down in the garden, but maybe we'll be hanging around here for a bit." Nodding. Kyo stared into Oak's eyes and smiled. "Sound good to you?" Oak returned with a cold gaze and a grunt. Obviously up set from being pulled away from the shiny. "Well... obviously not." Kyo chuckled. "Might as well get to where we planned on going in the first place." Taking in one last glance of everyone. The elf began to slowly... very slowly back up and move around the crowd as gently as possible and not bump into any one. "It is a tad bit to crowded anyways." Kyo entered into the main hallway and proceeded off to the library. ----- The smell of books and ancient material filled the senses of the elf and the treeling. It was... so much quieter in here than in the lobby. What a relief. "We'll we are here, what kind of book should we get for you?" The elf suddenly remembered the stack of book sitting on the table from when he had been here last. Then suddenly the memory of a book falling on the floor returned to his mind. Shaking his head the elf simply smiled and reached out and snatched up a book and headed out. Not even taking a simple glance at the title etched onto the cover of the book. Oak let out a small grunt as he wanted to be at the garden rather than wasting time in a library. "OK ok... we are almost there." The elf sighed, but his efforts would soon be remidied. The two entered into the garden, but this time they weren't alone. Oh no. For the lady Neveah had beaten the two there. "OH I didn't know any one else as going to be here." Kyo wandered over to Oak's usual spot beneath the tree's and amongst the weeds and rested Oak down. Then wandered over next to Neveah and took a seat. Unaware of the other person there. "How are you?"
Page Three "AHh... OAK GET THAT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!" Kyo jumped and soared through the air towards his treeling charge. Who just happened to be sticking a rock into his mouth. Very... bad. Oak looked up at his soaring guardian some what confused and with a look of anger as if to say. Stupid Elf man.. Kyo pulled the stone from Oak's vice grip just before it got to far into his mouth. Reaching out, The elf pulled on a weed and handed it to Oak. Oak nibbled happily on the weed and rocked back and forth. Humming to himself an odd tune. Something Kyo never even taught the child. "Huh?" Kyo ignored it and returned next to Neveah. "I don't know where he learned that..."
Page Four "It's nice to meet you Rouge." Kyo nodded. "And I'm sure... Oak as well." The elf chuckled nervously. His gaze quickly moved to Kishi, who was balancing the plate of snacks. "Oh thank you so much Kishi." The elf nodded as he took a chip and only one chip. Not being in the mood to pig out. "Hmm... I wonder if I should do that with Oak. I don't know, He kind of does rather like being out here in the garden than being cooped up inside" The elf nodded. ---- "I like his company," Kyo nodded. "This tree brat here gives my life a bit more excitement." The elf chuckled then sighed. Reaching out and latched onto yet another chip and popped it into his mouth. Oak wandered over. Watching his guardian pop this weird triangle thing into his mouth. Curious as to what he was doing. First he had to establish a means of balance, but on all four. Left hand and left leg first... followed by the right side. So far it was working. It was getting him somewhere. A grin grew on the child face. Clinging to his guardians shirt, Oak pulled himself upward. Which pulled his guardian to the side. "Ahh... Oak what are you doing?!" "Agghh..." The tree brat made grabby hands for the triangle. "This is mine..." Kyo reached over with his free arm and yanked on a few blades of grass. "This one is yours.." The elf nodded. "I don't understand why he chooses to eat plants, but then again Oak doesn't appear to be fully tree or plant."
Page Five Kyocho's Elvin ears began to twitch, but the guardian just ignored the feeling. But something else began to happen. Oak began to wail loudly. Something seemed odd. Tears began to roll out of his eyes as the small treeling clinged onto the side of his guardian. "Oak? What's wrong bud?" How the guardian wished he could communicate with his guardian. Looking around the gardens things seemed to be a bit pale, but Kyocho just rubbed at his eyes and blamed it on his tired eyes. Oak still wailed and whine. From the fact that a slight sense of things changing around him too quickly shifted something inside his plant mind. A sort of link between the plant kingdom and himself. Kyocho lifted up his charge and held him closely to his chest. "Neveah. I don't know what’s wrong with him..." The guardian mumbled in failure.
Page Twelve What was going on. Everything seemed to be happening so fast. First the color began to drain then the HQ began to rattle and roll. Being dragged around by the butterfly Neveah. Kyocho couldn't get a word in edge wise. Something was wrong here... Oak wasn't helping with the fact that he was scream and wailing his head off, but soon he began to simper down. Being filled with a sense and feeling of death and at such a young age. Oak was running through a whole variety of emotions... that’s until a small child by the name of Vanaja entered the room. A sense of life returned and filled the tree boy from his feat to his head. "Ahh?" Oak dug his head into his guardians shoulder and settled down at last. Kyo took a deep breath. "Finally." But it wasn't over for the two. A huge earthquake struck the HQ. Sending the two falling on the pale grey grass. Clinging onto his charge, Kyo tried to defy gravity and won. Landing on his back side... rather painfully. The elf held tightly on to the treeling. "Oak, don't worry. I've got you!”
Page Seventeen Shadows filled the garden area, but everything seemed to happen so fast. Kyocho and Oak couldn't recall on how they got out of there, but luckily they did. They where safe. The gardens was under attack by forms of shadows. Looking and gazing around the room. The elf looked for a familiar figure of a broken butterfly. Finally spotting his target. Kyocho held even tighter to his charge and ran off and kneeled next to Neveah. "Neveah, you ok? What about Zah, did you find him?" Oak was taking some deep breaths. Feeling slightly out of place from the transition the HQ went through. Turning his tiny once upon a time colorful head around. Oak scanned the room with his deep grey eyes. Looking around at all the figures of people. “Ah.. Ahh.” Oak once again dug his face into his guardians shoulder. Something felt different about the charge between his arms. Looking down. His Elvin eye sight granting him a some what advantage in the dark. Oak did't seem as colorful as he once had. Different shades of grey covered the babies head. "Oak? What's wrong?! Why are you grey. Neveah... I don't know what's wrong." Looking up at Kay. Kyocho listened in on her speech. Something about… In between.
Eightteen Kyocho watched as some of the guardians where gathering there children in a play pen. Slightly reluctant to letting Oak go. The elf wandered his way over the pen and gently laid the child down next to the fern child. Giving Oak a reassuring smile. Kyo patted him on the head and whispered slightly. "You'll be safer here than with me." The elf hopped so, but there was still that chance of leaving all the children in a single area to be even more dangerous. Kyocho slowly walked away and gave Rouge a nod. Then joined the others. "I'm well seasoned with a bow and arrow. That's if any are in stock." Kyo nodded. Oak watched as his guardian walked away from him. A small tear fell from his grey eyes.
Page Nineteen Kyocho eyes feel upon the form of the troll like creature. His voice sounding much like a troll as well. Scanning through his memory banks on folklore learned from his mother. Kyocho remembered very little about trolls that was taught to him. It matched the description very well, but something seemed a slightly off about him. Elf eyes feel upon the one called Nic. Carrying and scrambling weapons amongst his arms. Running off towards the man Kyocho reached out and took a hold of a few of the weapons and Helped Nic back toward the others.
Page Twenty A gun? A gun? What the heck would an Elf use a gun for. Kyocho stared at the pile of weapons. Hopping there would at least be a quiver of arrows and maybe a bow would be buried beneath the others, but no luck. Picking up one of the stray guns. The elf's eyes wandered down the barrel of the gun. Taking in the intricate design of the weapon. It was a fairly simple build. Something that an inventor could create. Aiming the mechanism at the troll-like creature. The elf cocked the barrel and pulled the trigger. Sending flying objects through the air and toward the troll. Aiming first at his lower limbs.
Page Twentytwo Oak just watched the fern girl. A tear welled up in his gray drab eyes. He didn't want her to go already. After all he just found her and met her. Oak wanted to know her more... Oak placed one of his stubby hands on one of the fern like tails extending from her back. Feeling the plant fibers between his stubby fingers. Oak began to slightly cry in tears for he wanted her to stay. "Ahh.." How the boy wished he could talk and just say Don't give up...
Page Thirty Oak watched as the one with pretty yummy white hair with dark skin moved over, but he wasn't the only one. Another with long ears and a very colorful outfit followed... although another eventually came into view. So many colors. Then... out of the blue the dark skinned boy lifted up the fern girl. Feeling a bit jealous, upset, and lonely that she was gone. Oak grunted. Wanted his own guardian to come to his aid and keep him company... but he wasn't any where in sight. "Ahh.." A tear began to roll down his bark covered cheek and his elf man wasn't anywhere in sight. Throwing his two stubby bark covered arms into the air. Oak grasped at the air. Signaling that he wanted out of the pin or he wanted the fern girl back to keep him company. -- Kyocho was still rummaging through the training room. A quiver was found, but an bow had been missing still. One last place to look. That closet Kay had mentioned before. What should an elf do? Shrugging his shoulders strapped down with a quiver full of arrows. Kyocho approached the closet and continued his search.
Page Thirtyone The elf had finally found a bow lying around. Whether it was pulled out of the once warded closet was unknown. Strapping the bow across one arm and over the opposite shoulder. The elf left the training room and headed back toward the play pin to check on his Treeling. "Oak, you like your a little upset?!" The elf reached in and picked up his rough barked skinned boy. Oak just gave a grunt and grounded part of his face into his guardians shoulder, but half of his face was looking around Kyocho's arm. Staring at the fern girl with his drab gray eye. Kyocho gave a sigh. He was going to miss Neveah, already had she been through so much… but now she was gone. Kyocho just hopped for the best for Zah. "It sounds like the garden's is going to get torn from here to there. I guess we'll just have to help out and replant stuff. What do you say Oak?" A smile grew on Oak's face. The elf took a seat on one of the sofa's and let out a sigh. The sound of the children in the distance seemed to make things more livelier. "I think everyone just needs a snack. I wonder if there is a kitchen around here." ---- The elf shifted in his seat. "Kay. You guys have a kitchen here right?" The elf piped up from over on the sofa. Still clenching tightly onto his charge. Oak began to doze off, but his sleepiness wouldn't last for too long. Just a quick nap... then maybe... a few snacks... then... The treeling conked out. Drab gray eyes covered by bark and skin. Kyocho rubbed his hand across Oak's back. ---- "Well that scratches that plan. Unless you just have bread and some peanut butter... but I'm sure we could work our way through this mess if we really had to." The elf nodded. "We can't let you three and the others go hungry now could we?" The elf smirked. Patting Oak on his head gently. A few leafs fell from his hair and onto the sofa. Picking up the leaf and staring at the fibers. ---- "Oh thank you." The Elf's eyes moved over toward the woman speaking. "You can call me Kyocho by the way." Kyo nodded. "Zah, Kay, or...Urm.." The elf tripped over his words. "I haven't recalled meeting you before. Sorry, but could I get one of you three to watch on Oak while we get things cleaned up and hopefully find our way to the Kitchen?"
Page Thirtytwo "Wonderful Zah. Thank you!" Kyocho smiled. Lifting gently on the baby made of wood from off his chest and gently rested back down on the cushion of the sofa. Needing something to do to keep his mind off Neveah. After all... she was almost the first guardian he had met in the wacko place and what if he never had met her in the first place and didn't end up staying in this maze? Would he had never met Oak?! The elf stood up and gave his frail figure a good stretch before wandering off through the mess in hope in finding a route to the kitchen and it's goody horde it held. Pieces of wood... wall... other debris scattered it self across the floor. With his drab color effecting the place, all the elf could do was hope the food hadn't suffered too much. Hopefully the taste only drabbed down and was still edible. Over a table and through a battered door way the elf finally made his way into what was a kitchen. Letting out a sigh. "Where to start.." ---- Oak's eyes began to slowly open. Feeling slightly rested up. This tree boy wasn't one for resting too much. Since there is a whole world to explore... why waste it on sleeping, right? A small smile grew on his face as he watched the colorful looking animal-man wiggle his fingers at him. A soft giggle escaped his lips as he wiggled in his seat. Kyocho quickly stuck his head out of the once upon a time door way. "Thank you Yashima and Zah." The elf shouted happily then ducked back into the kitchen. Then began to scrounge up what he could find. "Umm... could you help to find some bread and maybe some peanut butter or whatever could go on bread.." ---- Oak just stared up at the strange colors that made Yashi's clothing. Reaching out and grabbing some of the cloth in his hands. Oak felt the odd material it was different, but why did the color stay on... couldn't they come off? Oak pouted. Looking back up at the face of the boy holding him. Oak stared at the colors that made up his ears, hair, and eyes. They where strange... really different, but interesting. Well enough to keep his attention pulled. Pondering on the many colors, Oak's nose scrunched up. Then he reached up with his stubby fingers and tried to grasp a lock of white and yellow hair, but with no luck.
Page Thirtythree Kyocho finally returned back from the kitchen, but with a plateful of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Not paying attention to the new fire red haired woman. Kyocho quickly set down the plate, then turned to look at the woman. Resting his hand gently on the bow strapped to his. "Who are you?" Kyocho's Elvin eyes began to scan the woman. Taking in all her features... until his eyes met with hers. They looked... familiar. Oddly... familiar. "Those aren't yours.." The elf quietly mumbled to himself. Slowly the elf sat down next to the kids. Keeping a close eye on Yashi, Zah, Kay, and Oak.
Page Thirtyfour The lights began to flicker then go out completely. This wasn't a good sign... the last time this happened. "The lights went out again..." The elf mumbled. Pushing his figure up off the sofa. Resting his right hand against the bow. "Yashima could I ask of you again to keep a close eye on Oak for me?" The elf mumbled once more, but the elf still kept a close eye on his charge as well. Starring straight into the darkness. With his some what advantage with Elvin eyes. Kyocho could only make out forms and what not better than a human could. Pulling the bow over his head and keeping a tight grip. ---- Kyocho could definitely feel the presence of something... odd... different... dark. The elf's eyes pinched on themselves as they began to focus on the darkness in the room. "Everyone... keep on your toes." The elf whispered. Reaching behind him and pulling a few arrows from his quiver. It's never a bad idea to be ready for something... anything at least... but Kyocho was more worried about Yashi and Oak. Since Yashi was watching over his little one... at least trying too.
Page Thirtyseven Alcohol "I'll stay here, Yashima. Could I ask you to keep an eye on Oak some more? I really do appreciate it." Kyocho nodded. As much as he would rather be sitting in the garden basking in the sunlight with his treeling Oak by his side or playing in the weeds. This is where he would need to be right now. Yashima seemed to be a good babysitter anyways and Oak was taking a liking to him. "The name is Kyocho by the way. Now is there anything you need help with? I may not have a sword, but we are in a training room after all." Placing the bow back over his head and resting it on his shoulder and returned the arrows back to the quiver.
