Dune soon left the guild with significantly lighter gold pouches than she had had previously, she was going to make a note never to use her cards again until she had married a rich millionaire and could afford to blow all of her gold on such things. Then again, if she charged her prices a little higher than usual then she could probably make up the gold she had lost in having the cards recharged.

Nevertheless, she did smile fondly in recolelction of the mages within the guild and with that in mind she made her way towards one of the taverns in the north east area of Durem where many of the authorities refused to tread - it was in the North East of Durem that the entrances to her own guild lay anyway and she had to check up on her family to see how each of them was doing...she also needed the gossip.

Still unaware of Roger's search for her, she propelled herself through the dark streets and towards her destination.

As Dune went down the dark streets, a fight was breaking out. No, fight wasn't right. People were crowded around, but it definately wasn't a fight. From the noises that you could hear, it was a one sided massacre. Someone, a large, dark skinned man, was working over another man, that you could not see for the crowd, but was apparently on the ground, holding on for dear life.

Dune raised a brow and paused mid-step as she caught sight of the disturbance, as luck would have it she was never able to have a quiet day and with a sigh she carefully placed the venecian mask over her face to prevent her from being recognised outright and wandered over to the ground, one hand clasping the bag and boots while the other rested upon her rapier.

When she reached the crowd she calmly gazed in to see exactly who was subject to such ill treatment - although for now she was by no means inclined to step in in anyway, this wasn't her fight unless she called it as such and the man could be pulvarising the other one for a very good reason anyway...

The tall dark man reached down, pulling his victim up, and slamming him against the wall of the tavern. The person was a bloody mess, cut open at several spots, he was bleeding profusely, and nearly unrecognizable, as the flinchy little man that Dune had met earlier in the forest...

The man leaned in, and whispered something to Roger, as he hung him by his neck. Roger sputtered back, spitting blood, though he apparently didn't mean to. Whatever they were speaking about, the man's face was clouding over, and he seemed to be getting angrier at the little man.

Very few had ever seen Dune in an angry mood, she was usually irritated but never angry however at the sight of the bloody man (who could only be recognised after looking hard) the hairs on the back of her neck rose and she grit her teeth beneath her mask - now what had Roger done to deserve any of this? The man was too much of a welp to anger anyone and with a slight growl she shoved her way through the small crowd and into the middle of the circle.

Once in, she dropped the bag and boots beside her before shaking her head and fixing her now angered gaze upon the dark man, "I'd say that's enough, don't you?" She interrupted in an eerily calm manner, her hand still resting comfortably on her rapier as she continued to observe the scene.

The man dropped Roger, to fall in a heap at the base of the wall. As the tall man turned around, you could see that the coat he wore wasn't just bulky, the man beneath was. If ever there was a stereotypical form of what a brawler and a warrior should be he was probably it. His right hand was resting on a blade on his left hip, one that from the scabbard, was apparently much larger, and much heavier than the woman's rapier, "It'll be enough, when I tell him it's enough. Now (expletive deleted) off."

//*Smashes Gaia for eating her post*

"No." Dune replied calmly as she stepped around him and took her place in front of Roger. If there was one thing she absolutely hated, it was having someone being beaten up when there was no just reason for it - of course her 'just' reasons were strange and made very little sense to all those around her but she certainly didn't smash people against walls without good reason.

"Now take your own advice and leave." She ordered, her eyes narrowing beneath her mask as she observed his physique. He was significantly bigger than her and although hand to hand her rapier would be hindered by the large blade her agility and her cards would serve her well if need be...

That being said, she soon withdrew the cards from her pocket and rested her thumb against her belt, her cards resting between her fingertips as she waited for the reaction.

So much for saving the cards for another life or death situation...

The man's eyes narrowed, and his left foot shifted slightly, bracing behind the man, supporting his weight for what could be just a single, lightning fast powerstrike that would have shut up the woman post haste. While he sat there however, his rough voice spoke, "He belongs to me... as does his little 'discovery'..." he told the woman, uncowed by her little show of bravado.

"Really now?" Dune sounded rather amused by this and then after a few moments she placed her cards in her belt and steepled her hands together. Taking a step forward in the process of these movements as if she was preparing a rather long speech, how unfortunate that he had encountered a rogue for they could talk anyone senseless on occasions.

"Well if he belongs to you then that means you are responsible for him," She began slowly, canting her head to the side as her emerald gaze remained locked upon his large form, "And if you are responsible for him and he has a debt then that means that you are therefore in debt as well -" She persisted, taking another step forward as she finally began to circle him. If he had of seen her facial expression beneath that mask it would have been an absolute picture.

"As a result of this I would like to point out that you are indebted to me my dear man due to the fact that I have saved him before and I appear to be saving him again - that means you are indebted twice." She cooed softly, finally coming to a halt again in front of Roger to maintain his only wall of defence.

"You do know how seriously these debts are taken by the Thieves' Guilds don't you?" She enquired in a curious manner as she placed her hands back against her rapier and cards.

Roger stirred slightly, looking up through blurred and bloodied vision at whatever blob had stepped up and stopped the punishment. He was curling up into a tight little ball, not recognizing who it was, or able to form any thought beneath the pain.

The man, seemed to relax, and even started laughing at the little rogue woman before him. She was soft, like a woman, after all, caring about this worthless slug. And she must be the one that he spoke of. "You're right..." the man said, showing his teeth in a smile, "Perhaps we should go somewhere else, where I can properly reward you for you trouble... He's such a worthless soul. Good dealer, but that's the extent of his worth."

"You misunderstand me, Sir." Dune stated calmly, refusing to budge from her position in front of Roger. She appeared to have taken a rather militaristic stance (at ease one might say) and as she continued to gaze at her opponent her eyes glinted with a hidden triumph, "I call in my debt as of immediate affect - to end your debt to me you must leave -" She allowed the words to sink in and glanced round towards the whelp behind her before returning her emerald eyes to her nameless opponent.

"Immediately." She finished in a somewhat dismissive tone - she very rarely called in her debts in such a manner, especially for a man who she saw to be of use to her but to say the least; a small part of her compelled her to perform the action now rather than later - Damn compassion, damn it to the Abyss and back!

That said however, she could only wait for the response she may be given.

The man grinned at the woman, then bowed his head slightly, "Then just let me take my possession back. I'm sure that one such as yourself, has no use for that worthless man," he told her. He didn't move an inch though, and seemed he wouldn't, until he had the kid in tow...

Roger meanwhile, was coughing and hacking, as he tried to ride out the pain. Each moment seemed to be sheer agony. He thought he'd be used to this by now, but... it never ended up that way.

"One would think that you wouldn't get in my way when you were walking in my territory." Dune mused calmly as she took a step around the man and lifted her boots and bag into the hand that had been pressed against the rapier. That done, she returned to her place beside Roger and leant down for a few moments before giving a light chuckle - she then lifted one of his arms and swung it around her neck and literally hauled him to his feet.

"I think I'll keep him." She murmured and shook her head, "You know not if his uses, you aren't female." She jibed and simply raised a brow beneath her mask, her gaze remaining upon her still nameless adversary...

Suffice to say, that seemed to throw him off, especially since he was a bloody mass of ground meat at the moment. The man however scowled, but then bowed slightly, just a minor show of respect, "Come to find me, if you ever venture into my Den..." he told her, turning and walking away. There was a cold, cruel smile on his face, that hinted this wasn't over yet...

Roger, was murmuring, babbling, and flinching as Dune picked him up, all at once. His body held limp, as his head slowly turned towards the rogue, a look of fear and pain etched upon his face.

Dune would have said something to highlight her sarcasm but decided against it as she cast a warning glare towards the crowd and then proceeded to walk passed them and towards the direction that she had been moving in previously. Yes, the previous destination was supposed to have remained a secret but considering the current situation she would have little choice other than to take him with her.

...She could just scare the living hell out of him to prevent him from telling anyone about the secret location that they were about to enter.

Said location was in the darkest alley of the city, upon entering the abandonned orphanage the woman proceeded down the stairwell to the basement and after a murmured discussion with an unseen face behind the doorway it was opened to reveal not a basement...but a long corridor that stretched out for a rather long distance, doors lining the walls in the process.

It appeared that this was the entrance hall to the guild, her 'domain' so to speak and after a few moments she began to make her way to the first door (struggling for balance) and stumbled through, casting a meaningful glance towards the gentleman inside who rose to his feet and took the bloodied Roger into his own grasp.

"Keep him here." Dune ordered after a few moments and backed away again, moving down the corridor with a muttered string of curses in reference to her bloodied clothes.

"As you wish, Cordelia." The man murmured calmly before heaving the man onto one of the many beds within the room and closing the door once more - it was only then that he proceeded to clean some of the blood away from the mans face; he would not yet heal him by any other means unless given leave to.

But what Roger would discover was that he was in the very "home" of Dune and her family and although he was only within the outer walls it was still a great priviledge to be there.
